Stealing Spring Book

This book is also known as "The Crane's Guide to Prompting Updates (Failed Version)" (bushi).

Characters: Sincere, pure, occasionally fiery crane shou (He Shu) x Gentle, deeply affectionate, sickly, persistent scholar gong (Li Qingshan).

The immortal attendant, He Shu, is a well-known "master of slacking" in the Ninth Heaven. His lifelong loves are: daydreaming, sleeping, and... reading storybooks!

Ever since a trip to the mortal world, he became obsessed with the storybook "Knowing Each Other by Contract." To his surprise, he couldn't buy the complete set, leaving him itching to know the ending. Before he could confront the unscrupulous merchant, he was told that the author had abandoned the story due to illness. The impatient little immortal crane flapped his wings: "I'll find that author and help him recover!"

He did find the person—the gentle, sickly, handsome scholar Li Qingshan. But before he could even mention prompting an update, his team leader's "fatal consecutive calls" rang!

He Shu: ...Alright, as a wage earner, I must fulfill my mission...

The mission, with a few twists and turns, was finally completed. Who would have thought he'd be ambushed by a demon on his way back?

Their time together was regrettably short, and He Shu had to return to Heaven to report, separating the immortal and mortal realms.

After he extricated himself from "Heavenly duties," he joyfully returned to the mortal world—only to find that the mortal realm had changed, and his old friend was long gone.

A snap of the fingers in Heaven equated to years passing in the human world.

The destined author he constantly thought of, his gentle and kind scholar... even the grass on his grave had grown tall and luxuriant?

Fortunately, though Qingshan had passed, his spirit remained; the immortal crane, lost, finally recognized his home. This time, transcending life and death and oblivion, He Shu would exert all his strength to grasp the hand that once held his.

The story of "Knowing Each Other by Contract" wasn't completed, but the rest of their lives unfolded like a long scroll. From then on, it was his turn to write their story, from youthful black hair to old white hair, from the old house in the mountains to the end of time.
