Chapter 384 The Flow of Fire Element

"Whoosh~~~" Just as everyone ran out of the house, a roaring fire suddenly broke out and quickly set fire to all the surrounding buildings.

"What's going on?" Harold and the others said with lingering fear, looking at the people around them running out of the house in a panic, they had no doubt about the authenticity of the fire.

“I don’t know. The concentration of fire element has suddenly increased, and very quickly. If nothing unexpected happens, these houses were directly set on fire by the fire element!” Sarah said, slightly out of breath. She was sensing the elements of time and space in meditation, but was startled by the sudden appearance of a large amount of fire element.

"These flames are real. I saw teleportation lights coming from the house over there. Some students must have been forcibly teleported back!" Churchill said, pointing to the group of dusty students not far away.

“Nonsense, I know it’s true without you saying it. The problem is, where did these flames, or rather, this dense fire element, come from?” Harold asked irritably. This was the key to the fire.

“If I had known this, the mission would have been over,” Churchill muttered innocently, leaving Harold speechless.

“Indeed, if we knew how this fire started, we might know the truth behind the destruction of this village!” Sarah nodded in relief. The fire came too suddenly, without any warning, and even caused many students to fail their trials.

"My lord, can these few people solve the mystery of this village?" At this moment, far away in the Elf King's City, Ye Xi and the others had a mirror screen hanging in front of them, showing the scenery of the Trial Mountains.

"The mystery of this village isn't actually that difficult. To put it bluntly, it's just a pitiful person's revenge. It didn't turn into any heroic or moving story. It all depends on whether they can find the key to the fire!" Ye Chen shrugged and said.

He set up many mission sites in this trial space, just like the village that Harold and the others went to. Because he did not want to harm living beings at will, these places were not set up with NPCs. He simply set up the scenery on his own territory in the manner of a lord.

Therefore, for the sake of convenience, he did not set up too complicated levels. Basically, there were only one or two key clues. As long as one could find one or two clues, the task could be completed easily.

“If someone is casting a spell here, it must be a magic array that gathers fire elements quickly!” Catherine, who was usually treated as a mascot, suddenly spoke up while standing at the edge of the fire.

The principle of magic is traceable; if there is a convergence of elements, then something must have brought them together, either a person or an object.

“Yes! A magic circle. Judging from the situation, there shouldn’t be anyone here. Although the house has been repaired, we haven’t heard any sound. Harold, can you smell anything new?” Sarah clapped her hands and said excitedly.

Hearing her words, Harold sniffed carefully, but ultimately shook his head. The surrounding smells were mixed, but no new smells appeared. In fact, the smells he had smelled during the day had become fainter.

“Then that makes sense. There shouldn’t be anyone in this village. Everything is just a reenactment of a scene under certain specific circumstances. This fire was either caused by someone casting a spell nearby, or a fire-type spirit-gathering array was set up here by someone, which would automatically gather a large amount of fire elements at a specific time, thus igniting the entire village!” Sarah quickly analyzed, and everyone immediately understood.

"So we need to find the existence of this magic circle now?" Houndoom asked in confusion.

“You could say that whether it’s a magic array or something man-made, there must be a point where the fire element is most concentrated. Once we find that point, many problems can be solved directly!” Sarah nodded and said, closing her eyes again, but this time to sense the concentration of the fire element around her.

Not only her, but Catherine also closed her eyes. She also majored in fire magic and was not much weaker than Sarah in her perception of fire elements.

In this situation, Harold and the others, being warriors, could only look at each other and stand aside quietly waiting. They couldn't use magic at all; this was already beyond their comprehension.

Time passed slowly, and the new students who had escaped from the houses gradually calmed down. Some of the frightened people left one after another, while a few remained in place, carefully analyzing the situation. They also felt that this might be an opportunity to unravel the mystery of the village.

Unfortunately, magicians are few and far between, so it's not easy to detect changes in the concentration of fire element. The group could only run around like headless flies, trying to find any possible clues.

Most students at the Elf Royal Academy are warriors or similar professions. No matter where you are, mages are rare talents, and their proportion in the army has always been low.

This time, Harold and the others didn't have to wait long. Within minutes, the two women opened their eyes one after the other.

"This way!" Catherine said, leading everyone to run in one direction. It was much easier to sense the differences in the concentration of the surrounding elements than to sense the spacetime elements.

Finally, the group stopped in front of a house that was burning down. Sarah and Catherine used their not-so-skilled water magic, but it was enough to put out the fire.

As the fire gradually died down, the commotion attracted the attention of others, who gathered around. Harold and Hellogas turned their backs to them and gestured to Churchill behind them. Without saying anything, the three of them walked straight into the house where the fire had just been extinguished.

"Brothers, is there anything unusual about this house? Share any news we can all share!" The speaker was an Ani, clearly wanting a piece of the pie from the group.

“Yeah! This godforsaken place has no clue about the mission. If we have any leads, let’s share them!” said a human standing nearby. There weren’t many humans who came to the Primordial Star, but there were still some.

Hearing this, Harold grinned. "Alright! Why don't you tell us what you know first? We can still investigate here. We'll search house by house; surely we'll find some clues, right?"

Harold's words clearly told everyone that they were also searching for a needle in a haystack, but naturally no one believed that. How could they possibly find this house so accurately by searching for a needle in a haystack?
