Chapter 16: Soul Travels to the 1970s

Chu Xi, who was in a trance and didn't know what year it was, was suddenly awakened by waves of severe pain.

Here it comes again, here it comes again, that nightmare comes again...

But why was the pain so clear this time? And the whirring sound of the willow branches swaying?

Those vicious words seem to echo in your ears?

"You little whore, you just fell into the water and you still need someone to rescue you. Hurry up and get back to work..."

"What's wrong? Your man is not around, and you're starting to miss him. Did you feel comfortable being hugged by Sha Zhu yesterday..."

Chu Xi, who had just woken up from a dream, didn't know that the original owner was rushed to the river to wash clothes in the middle of winter yesterday. He was so cold that his whole body was stiff and he accidentally slipped into the river. Fortunately, he was rescued by Dazhu who was passing by from the same village and was quickly carried back.

But unexpectedly, the original owner's mother-in-law was a careless person and didn't care about her at all.

He just lay on a kang with no one to light the fire for a whole night. He was already weak and fell into the river in the middle of winter. After being rescued, he didn't even change his clothes. He had a high fever with alternating hot and cold. He almost died in the middle of the night. Chu Xi then merged into the original owner's body in a daze.

Chu Xi, whose head was pounding from the roar of the Hedong Lion, roared loudly before even opening his eyes.

"roll!"

However, the words that came out of his mouth were as weak as a sick cat, and his voice was hoarse.

"Is that my voice?" Chu Xi opened her eyes in horror.

The first thing that catches your eye is the dilapidated thatched roof, which is made up of wooden sticks as thick as a baby's arm, laid out in a haphazard manner. The roof, which is covered with a mixture of thatch, straw and unknown weeds, is even able to let in sunlight.

Turning towards the door, she saw a woman in her fifties with gray hair and patched clothes, looking at her in surprise and suspicion, as if she didn't expect that Chu Xi, a fool, would be so cruel. The old woman was holding a thin wooden stick in her right hand.

You have to know that the original owner was a "silly girl" with a silent personality. She would not dare to make a sound even when being beaten.

"Damn it, that damn girl is going to bluff people."

The evil woman, who had lost the mood to curse, turned around and walked out. Before leaving, she kicked the door hard, and the door made a creaking sound.

Only then did Chu Xi feel the burning pain all over her body, which penetrated deep into her bones and made her gasp for breath.

She looked around in horror and found herself lying on a brick bed covered with dry straw, which should have been from a rural area in the north. At the end of the bed was firewood piled almost to the roof, and next to it were several jars that looked very old, all covered with wooden lids, and no one knew what was inside.

Next to it are some miscellaneous items, including farm tools such as hoes, rakes, and shovels, daily necessities such as dustpans, brooms, and dung baskets, and some things that cannot be named.

Chu Xi realized later that she had slept in the woodshed or the utility room...

Everything before her eyes was exactly the scene from the nightmare that had haunted her for more than a month in the apocalypse!

Suddenly, Chu Xi pulled her foot back, and she discovered that there was a creature quietly hiding under the slightly raised quilt at the end of the bed.

"A child?" Chu Xi couldn't help but hold his forehead.

It's rare to see such young children in the apocalypse, because they're all dead...

There are zombies, strange beasts, and humans. Yes, humans are more terrifying than zombies and strange beasts. When they are extremely hungry, they will eat people!

Didn't I destroy myself and that bitch by detonating my superpowers? Why am I here?

At this moment, a stream of memories came flooding back, making her already painful head even worse, and she fell back in pain.

“…”

Traveled through time? Did God think I hadn't lived long enough and gave me another life? A parallel universe? The 1970s?

But why does it feel so familiar, as if this is the original me!

She quickly integrated all her memories and slowly sorted out her thoughts. She could only sigh that the world is so big and full of wonders!

This should be the place where my soul, which was taken away by an unknown force at a certain point in time, was tempered for a lifetime. Now, because of the magical power of space and the altar, "myself" has returned to myself again!
