Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Lin Shengwen sat on the sofa in the vice president's office again after a month. He watched Yu Minjun pour some hot water into the teapot. After a while, he poured two cups of white tea, one for him and one for Yu Minjun himself.

Yu Minjun found him again, and he guessed without much thought that it was probably what Yu Qian and Yu Minjun said after they returned that day.

It is likely that she is hinting that Lin Shengwen and she are of the same kind, so that Yu Minjun will give up on trying to match her up with him.

Lin Shengwen looked at the white steam rising from the cup and then looked at Yu Minjun. He seized the initiative before Yu Minjun tried to hint at him.

"Professor Yu, I'm so sorry. I've been busy moving to a new house recently and haven't had time to report to you. I just registered my marriage a few days ago."

"I'm very happy to have made a friend like Yu Qian. I'd also like to ask Professor Yu to tell me that I thank her for her blessing."

Upon hearing this, Yu Minjun's hand holding the teacup trembled and the tea almost spilled out. He held down the cup and put it back on the table.

"Okay, okay... I congratulate you too," Yu Minjun rolled his eyes and suddenly asked Lin Shengwen, "We're moving to a new house as a wedding house. Where are you moving to now?"

"There's a new real estate development along the river called Dajiang Yuehua."

Lin Shengwen lowered his eyes and used the tips of his fingers to feel the temperature of the outer wall of the teacup. After making sure that the tea would not burn his tongue, he picked it up and took a sip.

Yu Minjun was stunned at first, then quickly reacted.

He pretended to be casual and mentioned: "What a coincidence, my cousin's family also bought a house in Dajiang Yuehua, and they moved in just after the house was delivered some time ago."

Lin Shengwen secretly cursed Yu Minjun, the old fox, in his heart, as if he had to verify it to his satisfaction.

He forced a smile and said, "After I finish cleaning up the house, I'll invite Professor Yu to come over for a simple meal."

After hearing his tactful reply, Yu Minjun's eyes curved and his face was full of a triumphant expression of "I knew you would say that".

"A family dinner is of the highest standard, how can it be called a simple meal?"

After handing over the house, Lin Shengwen called a moving company, which quickly packed up most of the furniture and belongings in the house he had originally rented and sent them to Room 3801 of Dajiang Yuehua, and then signed a lease termination agreement with the landlord.

The landlord returned the previous deposit to Lin Shengwen and gave him an extra half month's rent. Lin Shengwen only took his own deposit and returned the rest of the money to the landlord's account.

Lin Shengwen moved into Dajiang Yuehua. Although his morning commute took him more than ten minutes longer than before, it was a house with his own name on it after all - a legitimate "home". It only took Lin Shengwen two days to accept the increased driving time.

He parked his car in the underground garage and went upstairs. The elevator was fast and stopped on the 38th floor. The door locks at Dajiang Yuehua Apartment Building were optional, and since it was a new apartment building, most people used fingerprint locks. Lin Shengwen preferred to use a physical key, so he simply replaced it with a Class C lock, a mechanical lock with the highest security factor.

This resulted in him having only two sets of keys.

Lin Shengwen got off work early that day. He returned home, cooked some quick meals and ate them, holding his phone in his hand the whole time.

He was hesitating whether to send a message to Liang Xun.

Even if we take a step back and say that Liang Xun is really a kind-hearted person, he has no ulterior motives towards him.

Then Lin Shengwen asked Liang Xun, who no longer had any contact with the real estate agency business, to help him find a house, and asked him to have a fake marriage with him. Once he completely resolved the suspicions of Yu Minjun and others about his private life, after he and Liang Xun went to get a divorce, Liang Xun's marital status would inevitably become "divorced". No matter how you think about it, you will think that Lin Shengwen is a bastard.

Liang Xun made great sacrifices.

But now he had to beg Liang Xun to help him again.

Lin Shengwen fiddled with his cell phone, standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window looking at the wide river. After thinking for a long time, he finally opened Liang Xun's dialog box, tapped his fingers on the screen, typed a line of words, and clicked send.

After a few seconds, Liang Xun called back.

He said on the other end of the phone: "Lin Shengwen, I can promise you, but can I also ask you for one thing?"

"certainly."

"Can I sleep at your place tonight?"

Lin Shengwen noticed a slight tremor in Liang Xun's voice, as if he were facing the greatest crisis and fear in his life. However, this tremor was very subtle, and if it weren't for Lin Shengwen's accurate intuition, he probably wouldn't have noticed it.

"Okay, I'll wait for you."

Last time, also at Dajiang Yuehua, the person waiting was Liang Xun. This time the identities were swapped, and Lin Shengwen felt a sense of relief.

He hung up the phone, put it in his pocket, turned to face his living room which he had not yet tidied up, and felt a headache for a moment.

Liang Xun went to the convenience store again, bought a set of underwear and basic toiletries, and took a taxi straight to Dajiang Yuehua. In the taxi, he began to regret why he had asked Lin Shengwen to stay overnight. He could have easily stayed in a nearby hotel and hired a cockroach removal company to clean his house the next day.

He must have panicked and lost his mind, Liang Xun had no choice but to comfort himself.

The last time he came to Dajiang Yuehua was when he took Lin Shengwen to see Room 3801. This time he came again and actually stayed overnight.

Security and property management had already started their work a few days before the handover. Liang Xun was in the security room, waiting for Lin Shengwen to confirm on the internal line and let him go up. He didn't wait for long before the security guard on the internal line told him that he could go in.

Liang Xun was familiar with the place. He stood at the door of Lin Shengwen's house and rang the doorbell.

Lin Shengwen came out to greet the door quickly. He squatted down, took a pair of bamboo-soled indoor slippers for Liang Xun, and placed them in front of him.

Liang Xun was startled by Lin Shengwen's considerate gesture. He calmly avoided Lin Shengwen's fingers that were about to touch his calf.

"Sorry to trouble you, Lin Shengwen."

"How could that be?" Lin Shengwen smiled at him, "I should say that I am the one who is bothering you."

Liang Xun followed Lin Shengwen from the entrance into the living room. After not seeing him for a while, the house was already filled with Lin Shengwen's aura. It was obvious that the house had not been systematically tidied since he moved in. There was a sense of clutter that Liang Xun couldn't describe.

This feeling is relative. If the same display were placed in his own home, it would be extraordinarily neat, but here at Lin Shengwen's, it seemed a little out of place - it was not as meticulous as he had imagined.

"Haven't you had dinner yet? Let me heat it up for you?" Lin Shengwen seemed to have noticed the plastic bag in his hand, or perhaps he smelled the aroma of fried noodles.

"Okay." Liang Xun did not refuse and took out the box of fried noodles from the dining table.

Lin Shengwen took it and carried the box into the kitchen. He changed to a microwave-safe bowl, put the fried noodles in it, and then put it in the microwave.

Soon, with a "ding" sound, Lin Shengwen took out the hot fried noodles, paired it with a stainless steel fork, and placed it in front of Liang Xun.

Liang Xun sat down on one side of the four-person dining table. For some reason, Lin Shengwen also sat down opposite him and watched him eat the fried noodles.

Liang Xun had difficulty swallowing because of his gaze and asked, "Have you eaten?"

"Well," Lin Shengwen said, "you eat yours."

Liang Xun ate half of it and felt a little full, and couldn't eat much more. But after all, he was at Lin Shengwen's house, so Liang Xun thought he had to finish it even if he had to eat it slowly.

He then asked Lin Shengwen why he wanted him to live here.

Lin Shengwen briefly explained Yu Minjun's relationship, but didn't elaborate further. Liang Xun understood Lin Shengwen's concerns. He probably wanted to put on a complete show, and since he was going to pretend, he had to do it so that no one could see through his flaws.

"Then, when is the best time for me to move in?" Liang Xun took the fork out of his mouth and asked in a low voice.

"If it's convenient for you, we can move tomorrow." Lin Shengwen said.

That night, Liang Xun slept in Lin Shengwen's second bedroom. The bed was already there, and the mattress was probably purchased off the shelf by Lin Shengwen. The bedding was a high-millimeter silk four-piece set with a sleeping pillow and silk quilt. It was very comfortable. Liang Xun, who had thought he would be familiar with the bed, fainted as soon as he lay down. The next day, the alarm clock rang three times and he almost couldn't wake up.

He got up and groped his way to the bathroom to wash up with sleepy eyes. Lin Shengwen had placed his toiletries in the bathroom of the master bedroom last night - he said he was afraid that someone else would come to the house later, so he asked Liang Xun to get used to it first. As a result, Liang Xun had to go to Lin Shengwen's room before brushing his teeth.

Lin Shengwen's bedroom was just as he imagined, very clean, like a high-end hotel, without any human smell. Lin Shengwen probably positioned it purely as a "sleeping place". On the contrary, the other room was used as a study, which made people feel that Lin Shengwen stayed there for a long time.

Liang Xun had a brief chat with Lin Shengwen last night about him and Lin Shengwen living together. Of course, Liang Xun couldn't give up the lease of his original house just because he moved into Lin Shengwen's house, but he also insisted on giving Lin Shengwen a portion of money as rent every month. Lin Shengwen thought for a moment and did not refute immediately, but just said he would discuss it later.

When he got up, Lin Shengwen had already left. After washing his face, Liang Xun walked into the living room and saw a complete English breakfast on the dining table.

——Even though the fried egg was cold, it still looked delicious.

Liang Xun was flattered, surprised, and a little melancholy. He thought his secret crush on Lin Shengwen was comprehensive, but he was wrong. Perhaps he was just attracted to Lin Shengwen's good appearance and knew nothing about the real Lin Shengwen.

Just like he didn't know that Lin Shengwen would actually make breakfast for a person he was fake marrying - when he himself still had to get up early for work.

Liang Xun saw a piece of paper next to the plate. Lin Shengwen had written a few words on it in beautiful and easy-to-understand handwriting.

"I'm going to go to work. Your keys are on the table in the entrance hall."

Liang Xun put down the note, pulled the plate in front of him, and began to eat with relish.

When he thought about it carefully, he realized that he hadn't eaten food cooked by others for almost two years.
