Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Liang Xun never knew Lin Shengwen could be so clingy.

Although it wasn't as quick as a rocket, from the time he and Lin Shengwen got home, took a shower, and sat on the sofa to watch an old movie, Lin Shengwen would come over and kiss him on the face and lips from time to time.

Help! It feels like I'm being sucked like a snack. Is this acceptable? Liang Xun screamed in his heart.

The stereotype of Lin Shengwen that he had in his mind collapsed in an instant, vanishing into thin air, without even a trace of anger left, and was seamlessly replaced by this spoiled Lin Shengwen.

The next day, Lin Shengwen had already gone to work at the hospital. Liang Xun slept in bed until noon. When he woke up, he was still a little dazed. He ate the brunch left in the refrigerator without tasting it, then crawled back into bed for another nap. He vaguely felt that because things were moving too fast between him and Lin Shengwen, he needed more time to adjust. This reflected in his mind, which framed it as "using sleep to digest."

Liang Xun finally woke up in the evening. Rubbing his swollen eyes, he came out of the second bedroom. Everything in front of him was blurry. He felt something approaching him. The next second, someone lifted up his face and kissed him on the lips.

"I haven't brushed my teeth yet..." Liang Xun muttered.

"Go ahead." Lin Shengwen smiled and patted him.

Liang Xun probably didn't sleep well. The T-shirt he'd been wearing was riddled with creases, mostly horizontal stripes, from moving around in bed after falling asleep, which had caused the hem of the shirt to roll up. He brushed past Lin Shengwen and slowly made his way into his bathroom to wash up.

By the time he emerged, Lin Shengwen had already prepared four dishes and a soup, a Southern home-style meal. However, the rice wasn't cooked fresh by Lin Shengwen; he'd probably gotten it from the hospital cafeteria before leaving work. He didn't know if Lin Shengwen had noticed that he preferred Chinese stir-fries to Western cuisine, but he didn't know when the Chinese portion of the meal had increased significantly.

Liang Xun sat down at the dining table and saw Lin Shengwen take off his apron and hang it in the kitchen. He then took out chopsticks and a spoon, and kissed him again when he handed them to Liang Xun.

No, isn't that right? Liang Xun blinked and stammered, "You really have never been in love before?" He couldn't count the number of times Lin Shengwen kissed him in the past two days with both hands.

"Didn't you say you believed me? --I'm honest and trustworthy." Lin Shengwen said as he scooped a bowl of soup for him and placed it next to him. "Besides, what good would it do me if I lied to you?"

"Too."

Liang Xun thought to himself, if I hadn't been your stalker for many years, I wouldn't believe it. He glanced at Lin Shengwen, who had already started naturally.

"By the way, will your vice president come alone tomorrow?" Liang Xun asked.

Lin Shengwen pondered for half a second: "He didn't say it explicitly. I tend to think that he will bring his wife and daughter to Dajiang Yuehua, but it's hard to say whether he will come to our house."

"Oh, then let's just assume their whole family is here," Liang Xun said, feeling somewhat distressed. "How can I act more intimate with you? Isn't this enough for now?"

Liang Xun is not the type to be particularly calm and collected. Perhaps he subconsciously thought that by breaking the window paper with Lin Shengwen, his true nature would slowly be revealed, and he became less cautious in his words.

Lin Shengwen burst out laughing.

"I'll listen to you," he said.

Liang Xun's eyes rolled: "If you listen to me... then don't kiss me tomorrow. What kind of words will that sound like in front of the leader?"

Liang Xun was feeling uneasy, and since he had slept too much during the day, he stayed awake almost until dawn. Not long after he fell asleep, the alarm clock woke him up, and he got up and cleaned the house with Lin Shengwen.

He suddenly slapped his thigh and said, "We have to prepare some fruit."

Lin Shengwen pointed to several kinds of fruits that had been washed and placed on the coffee table. Liang Xun looked in that direction and realized that he was so anxious that he even ignored the things in front of him. He felt very embarrassed.

"When did you prepare it? Didn't you buy anything last night?" Liang Xun asked in a low voice.

"You were still sleeping this morning." Lin Shengwen said, lowering his head and wanting to kiss his lips, but stopped.

"Huh? What's wrong?" Liang Xun raised his head, but found that Lin Shengwen paused.

"You asked me not to kiss you today." His eyes were full of smiles, but Liang Xun could hear a bit of grievance and coquettishness in his tone.

Liang Xun hesitated for a while, then raised his head and looked at Lin Shengwen.

"I just told you not to do that in front of your vice-president..."

There was really no need to say the second half of the sentence. It was blocked by a wet kiss and it took a long time for me to utter a complete word.

The doorbell rang hurriedly, and Liang Xun became anxious. He pushed Lin Shengwen to remind him to answer the door, and the man reluctantly let him go.

"Professor Yu." Lin Shengwen opened the door, turned sideways, and motioned Yu Minjun and others to enter the house.

Liang Xun looked over Lin Shengwen's shoulder and saw that, just as Lin Shengwen had said the night before, the vice president had brought his entire family with him, seemingly curious about Lin Shengwen's personal life. He followed Lin Shengwen's lead and called out "Professor Yu."

Unexpectedly, Yu Minjun was stunned when he saw Liang Xun.

His performance was so obvious that even Liang Xun immediately realized that something was wrong. He gave Lin Shengwen a reproachful look.

What other reaction could this be? Yu Minjun probably has no idea that Lin Shengwen's partner is a man!

Liang Xun's eyes were filled with death. He and Lin Shengwen looked at each other for a second, secretly blaming Lin Shengwen for assuring him that he didn't need to worry too much about receiving him as the vice president. If he had known that Lin Shengwen hadn't even revealed this most important information, Liang Xun would have gone crazy.

His eyes flashed, but he found that the wife and daughter beside the vice-president did not show any surprise, as if they had guessed it long ago.

Yu Qian smiled at him, introduced herself, and said that this was her mother, whose surname was Hui.

Liang Xun smiled broadly and let the three of them into the room first: "Professor Yu, Teacher Hui, Yu Qian, please sit inside."

"I'll go make some tea. How about green tea?" He nudged Lin Shengwen with his elbow and whispered to him, "I'll go make some tea. You sit with them."

Liang Xun opened the refrigerator, took out Lin Shengwen's Longjing tea, brewed it in a teapot, and divided it into several ceramic cups. He thought for a while, rummaged in the storage cabinet, found a tray, put the tea cups on the tray, and took them all to the coffee table at once.

Lin Shengwen took the tray and asked him softly, "Is it hot?"

"Nonsense." Liang Xun was still a little depressed. His empty hands fell back to his side and he sat down on the small sofa beside him.

When Yu Qian entered the room, she noticed that Lin Shengwen and Liang Xun were wearing rings from the same series, but she did not say anything immediately. After her parents and Lin Shengwen chatted for a while, she pretended to casually praise the rings for being beautiful.

Liang Xun was a little shy. He scratched the side of his face, but still nodded modestly, thanked him, and said that it was Lin Shengwen who chose it.

Lin Shengwen noticed that when Liang Xun said this, Yu Minjun's expression actually relaxed, as if he was suddenly relieved about the fact that he had married a same-sex person.

Yu Minjun and his group were going to his cousin's house downstairs. After sitting down and chatting for a while, they were about to leave. Lin Shengwen said a few polite words and asked them to stay for lunch, but Yu Minjun patted Lin Shengwen on the back.

"How could I possibly disturb your weekend break? You're newlyweds, it's time to be in love," Yu Minjun laughed heartily, then said to Lin Shengwen, "Give my regards to your parents... I'm leaving now, no need to see you off!"

Lin Shengwen insisted on sending them to the elevator. After the elevator door closed, Liang Xun, who was exhausted in a short time, was left behind. He turned and went into the house, looking at Lin Shengwen who followed him in, with some resentment in his eyes.

"If your boss hadn't been so kind, I would have been humiliated just now," Liang Xun said sullenly. "I thought you'd already come out, but you haven't said anything at all... Then you don't have to ask me to have a fake marriage, right? Can't you just find an extra to make do?"

Lin Shengwen brought him into his arms from behind and rested his head on his.

"Extras don't confess their feelings to me," he said.

Liang Xun couldn't help but rolled his eyes.

If he hadn't had a crush on Lin Shengwen for so many years and hadn't naturally put a filter on Lin Shengwen, he would have been really scared by how corny Lin Shengwen's behavior was now.

He even suspected that Lin Shengwen had been possessed by another spirit.

On Monday morning, when Lin Shengwen drove out for his shift, there was still an hour and a half before the city's morning rush hour began.

The Department of Neurosurgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Tingshi University School of Medicine holds a simple meeting every Monday before officially seeing patients. The meeting basically reports on the work of the previous week. However, unlike department meetings, the content of this Monday morning meeting is not so serious.

Lin Shengwen walked into the Medical Bureau's office, only to find that the Neurosurgery Bureau's office was crowded today. Yu Minjun took a chair and sat down inside, and next to him was the Dean Hong Li. After all, Yu Minjun was promoted from the neurosurgery department, so it was understandable that he would occasionally visit his mother's home. However, Dean Hong Li had only been in charge of administrative work in recent years, and it was rare for him to take care of a specific department individually.

He was just speculating on the reason why these two people came to the Medical Bureau to sit down, when Li Ye pulled him to sit down and whispered to him, "I heard that a relative of the dean is coming to our department."

Lin Shengwen said nothing and pretended not to hear.

He understood. Anyone parachuted into their department at this time was either transferred from another hospital or had an overseas background. Plus, the director's presence was a sign that they were being asked to take extra care of him.

After everyone in the department had arrived one after another, a man finally arrived at the door of the Medical Bureau's office. The sound of his leather shoes clattering against the floor of the hospital corridor was crisp, and his presence was very noticeable. The man walked in and smiled at the people sitting in the department.

The dean finally spoke, "This is our new neurosurgeon, Dr. Zhou Xin. He went straight from undergraduate studies in Country A to a doctorate, and also spent six months in research. He has published many papers, so let's learn from each other."
