Chapter 184 Her Long-Awaited Dream

Mu Run remembered that someone had bitten her there before...

Her ears felt slightly warm, and she said, "I got bitten by an ant and it was itchy, so I rubbed it until it turned red."

Xiao Cao came over with her needle and thread and happened to see the patch of cherry blossoms.

However, her reaction was different from Qiaoyu's; her face turned pale instantly.

He handed the threaded needle to Qiaoyu, saying, "Sister Yu, my stomach is a little upset, so it might take a while."

"Go ahead, go ahead," Qiaoyu waved her hand.

When Mu Run got tired, he crawled into bed and chatted with Qiao Yu.

As Qiaoyu spoke, she started talking about her family, "My younger brother came over a couple of days ago. He's really grown up. He's almost as tall as me, and he's dark-skinned and strong. It's time to save money for him to get married."

"Have you ever thought about getting married?" Mu Run asked.

Qiaoyu is seventeen this year, which is the perfect age for marriage in ancient times. However, she is a slave sold into servitude in the Grand Commandant's mansion. Marriages need to be decided by the mistress of the house, but there is no mistress in the Grand Commandant's mansion. Even when Princess Xiao'an was alive, they were never seen as maids or servants. So, this marriage is basically hopeless.

Qiaoyu shook her head. "I don't want to get married. I'll be content as long as I raise my younger siblings."

"They say an elder sister is like a mother, and you really are." Mu Run lay down on the pillow, slowly closed her eyes, and fell asleep.

Qiaoyu tucked the blanket around her, sewed up her clothes, and even embroidered a small flower on them.

Mu Run had a dream last night, a dream about her sisters from the modern world. Because they were around her age, they bickered and teased each other every day. Later, her sister got married, and she was a bridesmaid, holding up her sister's long wedding dress train... When her sister threw the bouquet, she tried to catch it, but missed, and a stranger snatched it away! She angrily went to confront him, but when the face turned towards her, it was Fu Yunchen!

Startled, he opened his eyes.

It was still dark outside.

Just then, the sound of the night watchman's gong rang out; it was the fifth watch of the night.

By now, Fu Yunchen must have already gotten up.

Mu Run recalled Fu Yunchen's appearance in a modern suit in her dream... He was so handsome!

As I was thinking about it, I got up.

She went to the front yard to find Fu Yunchen.

He also happened to be going to court.

Seeing her approach, Fu Yunchen walked over to her. "Up so early, is something the matter?"

Mu Run nodded, "Yes, I dreamt about you, so I came to see you in person."

"Why are you dreaming about me?" Fu Yunchen touched her face, his eyes full of tenderness and affection.

Mu Run pouted, thinking of how he snatched her bouquet in her dream, "He stole what I've always dreamed of!"

"Tell me," Fu Yunchen asked curiously. What was it that she longed for?

"I'm not telling you, go to court." Mu Run pushed him out.

Fu Yunchen followed her lead, saying, "Wait for me to come back, then I'll ask you about your long-cherished dream."

"I'm not telling you." How could she possibly tell her that her dream used to be to hold hands with a handsome, kind, and sunny man, like a prince charming, and walk down the aisle together? Of course, reality always hits hard like a cold slap in the face; dreams are fine, but taking it seriously could mean being single forever.

Fu Yunchen rode his horse to court. Just before turning into the street, he looked back one last time. She stood at the gate, her hands clasped in front of her abdomen, graceful and beautiful.
