"In that case, I need to hurry." Fu Yunchen picked her up, his voice becoming low and husky with desire.
"Aren't you going to eat venison anymore?" Mu Run asked him seductively, her eyes glistening with tears. Ever since the two little ones came back, Mu Run and Fu Yunchen could only get close to each other when the little ones weren't around.
Fu Yunchen's anger flared up, "I'll eat you first."
...
The streets of Chongyang Prefecture were bustling with people, all working diligently.
The government officials hurriedly cleared the snow as soon as it stopped and transported it out of the city. Some people had already set up stalls along the cleared roads and started selling their wares.
Bai Shalu carried Tuan Tuan, who was eating candied hawthorns, on his shoulder, while Hong Mi held Huan Huan, who was eating steamed cakes. The four of them strolled around the street.
Suddenly, Bai Shalu turned his gaze to the teahouse on the street.
Two people were sitting at the tea table by the window. One was Qiao Dongzi, and the other was a girl in green. Her face wasn't clearly visible, but one could tell she was a beautiful woman.
Hongmi noticed Bai Shalu's gaze and looked over as well, then asked in surprise, "Who is Brother Qiao having tea with? It doesn't look like Sister-in-law Qiao."
Bai Shalu said, "I have never seen him before, but judging from Qiao Dongzi's attitude, he should not be an ordinary person."
In the teahouse, Qiao Dongzi took a sweet bun from the snack plate, took a bite, and then pushed the plate to the woman, saying, "Try it, it's quite delicious."
"No need." Yu Shan's voice was neither too loud nor too soft, but clear and pleasant. She turned her gaze to the street, where a young couple with their two children were shopping.
"Do you still remember the trip to Jiangzhou with the boss thirteen years ago?"
"Jiangzhou?" Qiao Dongzi paused, his eyes showing a look of recollection. However, he had followed Fu Yunchen for a long time and had done a lot, so he couldn't remember it for a moment. But if Yu Shan was mentioned... he quickly remembered a past event.
The leader back then was different from the one now. His tragic memories of the destruction of his family were blurred by his master's profound hints. He hadn't yet begun to take revenge; he was just a young wandering swordsman traveling the martial world.
It was late autumn in a small village in Jiangzhou.
The village's stream is a tributary of the Dragon Vein Canal. It meanders and scatters around the village before finally converging and flowing into the canal.
The mountains are bathed in the setting sun, the sky meets the water, a gentle evening breeze blows, wild geese fly among the clouds, fish swim in the water, and a few fishing boats return home on the river at dusk.
Three people were standing on one of the fishing boats.
The boy on the left is robust, with a handsome and upright face, bright and shining eyes, and an air of wisdom and integrity.
Standing prettily on the right was a beautiful young woman, dressed in a light green, cross-front, floor-length dress with a light white printed blouse. Her large, beautiful eyes darted about, and her charming smile shone brightly. Strangely, although her words and actions revealed a lively and enthusiastic nature, she also gave off a sense of restraint and sharpness. These two contrasting qualities blended within her, creating a very unique aura.
The young man in the middle was the most outstanding. He had a pair of strange black and purple heterochromatic eyes, and long black hair that flowed like a waterfall. When the river breeze blew, he seemed to be ethereal and misty, a rainbow in the fog. His demeanor was indescribable.
The young man wore a simple red robe, plain and unadorned. His face seemed to have accumulated all the finest qualities in the world. His long, bright eyes shone with a captivating purple hue, as if they were created by layers of light purple, like the purest grape wine or the most dazzling purple gemstone.
At this moment, he simply stood there idly, giving off a sense of languid etherealness, gazing absently into the distance.
The two people next to her started arguing and then got into a fight, with the girl gaining the upper hand.
"Boss, you need to control Yu Shan! This girl is too arrogant!" Qiao Dongzi dodged and weaved under the girl's aggressive attacks, no longer caring about his image, and shouted at the top of his lungs.
Fu Yunchen looked at them and finally said helplessly, "Yushan, stop."
"Hmph, I'll let you off this time, but if you dare to disrespect me again and call me a tigress, I'll make sure you can't be a man anymore." Yu Shan's words were shocking, displaying her fierce and shrewish nature.
"Aren't you the same?" Qiao Dongzi looked at her fierce appearance. "Whoever marries you in the future will be extremely unlucky."
"It's none of your business who gets to marry her!" Yu Shan said, about to strike again.
Fu Yunchen looked at them helplessly. He had originally intended to travel alone, but Qiao Dongzi insisted on following him, claiming it was to "train alongside the boss." Yu Shan was a female knight-errant he had met, possessing extremely high martial arts skills and a penchant for righting wrongs and upholding justice. However, their journey together had resulted in a serious clash between them; they would often start fighting over a few words, leaving Fu Yunchen with a real headache.
"It's getting late, let's go into the village and find a place to stay." Fu Yunchen glanced at the horizon; the sun had already set, and the sunset was fading. Villagers along the river were heading home in twos and threes.
The three disembarked and entered the village. The village looked small, but it had a large population. It was surrounded by streams, with a small river flowing in front of every house. The clear, refreshing water seemed to cleanse away all the dust. Fu Yunchen looked around and found a simple and dignified house with a gate. He slowly stepped forward and knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" With a creak, the door opened wide, and a beautiful woman with a light blue floral headscarf looked out. When she saw Fu Yunchen's face, she froze instantly.
"Big sister, snap out of it!" Qiao Dongzi shouted in his loud voice.
The woman immediately woke up, smiled awkwardly, glanced at Fu Yunchen again, and then quickly looked away, as if she dared not look any longer. She turned her head and curiously looked at Yu Shan.
Qiao Dongzi, feeling ignored, was a little annoyed. Yu Shan, seeing Qiao Dongzi's discomfiture, laughed heartily.
Fu Yunchen sighed softly; these two were truly sworn enemies. Then he said to the woman, "Elder sister, we are passing through this area. It is getting late, and there is no other place to stay nearby. We have taken the liberty of entering the village to bother you. Would you be so kind as to do us a favor?"
"No trouble at all, no trouble at all. There are still some rooms available. Please come in if you don't mind." The woman waved her hand repeatedly and stepped aside to welcome Fu Yunchen and his party into the house.
"Please rest in the front hall for a while, the three of you. I will go and inform the master of this matter." After saying this, the woman gave a slight bow and quickly walked into the inner hall.
"Judging from this woman's words and actions, she doesn't seem like a countrywoman..." Yu Shan lowered her beautiful eyes, a hint of doubt flashing in them, and she secretly became wary.
Qiao Dongzi casually sat down in the chair, stretching out his arms and legs.
Fu Yunchen strolled casually, seemingly observing the furnishings of the room. His eyes seemed indifferent to everything, yet also as if he understood everything perfectly. That languid indifference pierced through the mists of time, revealing an unparalleled elegance.
"Master, these are the guests." The woman's voice came from the inner hall, and with the sound of approaching footsteps, a middle-aged man with an inconspicuous face but gorgeous clothes stepped forward first.
