"Take off your clothes," Fu Yunchen said to Mu Run.
Mu Run curled her lips slightly, but did not take off her clothes. She only said, "Why didn't you tell me that it was the imperial physician who instructed you to do so?"
“Actually, you’re not wrong.” Fu Yunchen took out a brand-new, unused plain handkerchief from his sleeve and wrapped the ice cubes in it. “I do feel apologetic towards Feng Que.”
Mu Run's gaze fell on the ice pack in his hand. "Then, do you like her?"
"She is you."
"..."
Fu Yunchen put down the ice pack and went over to help her take off her clothes.
Mu Run did not resist his actions.
When Fu Yunchen removed Mu Run's outer garment and saw the bright red bloodstains on her inner clothes, his pupils suddenly contracted. "What happened?"
Mu Run replied, "It was just a small accident, nothing serious."
Fu Yunchen lowered his eyelashes and slowly took off her inner garment, revealing a patch of red, swollen wound with broken skin and blood on her delicate back, so glaringly obvious!
"What accident?" Fu Yunchen's voice was softer.
If it were Qiao Dongzi, who often followed him, he would know from his tone... things are in trouble! The boss is unhappy!
Mu Run didn't think much of it. "It was just a little accident. Can you put some ice on it for me to reduce the swelling?"
Fu Yunchen said, "You're bleeding, let's apply some medicine first."
"You bumped it? That explains why it hurt so much." Mu Run looked at the corner of the table she had just bumped.
Fu Yunchen followed her gaze and saw that the sharp corner of the table was right in front of the wound on Mu Run's back.
"I remember there weren't any tables there originally, and they had these sharp corners."
"I had someone fetch it and it's just been placed there temporarily," Mu Run said. "I was planning to make a bonsai, but I haven't had time to do it yet."
"Hmm... let me apply the medicine for you first." Fu Yunchen skillfully took a jade box from the bookshelf.
Mu Run sat on the embroidery stool, holding her own clothes in her hands, covering her front, leaving only her back above her waist bare.
She's already had three children, but she's not so fussy anymore, and she openly shows him her back.
Fu Yunchen first washed his hands, then rinsed them with strong liquor until the smell of alcohol had almost completely dissipated. Only then did he open the jade box, scoop out some crystal-clear, pale green ointment, and gently apply it to her wound.
His fingers were warm, and when they touched her back, it felt especially comforting, and even the stinging pain from her wounds subsided.
Mu Run sighed, "Can this medicine remove scars?"
Fu Yunchen said, "It can be faded, but whether it can be restored to its original state depends on the individual."
"Hmm. It doesn't matter. It's okay to have a scar, since no one will look there anyway."
Fu Yunchen looked at the glaring wound on her back... Wasn't he human?
He paused, then said confidently, "You won't have a scar."
Mu Run glanced back at him, only to see that his eyelashes were lowered, obscuring his eyes, and his expression was normal, nothing special.
"Oh, well... thank you." Mu Run said politely, and then prepared to get dressed.
Fu Yunchen stiffened, then took the clothes from her hands and helped her put them on. "You are the ruler, and I am the subject. You don't need to thank me."
"Emperor and subject? Ha~" Mu Run turned his gaze to the memorials on the imperial desk. "Then you shall deal with all these memorials."
Since he wants to be a subject, then so be it.
Mu Run was slightly dissatisfied with his lukewarm attitude.
He straightened his clothes and left the study.
Fu Yunchen looked at the memorials piled on the table, then at the jade box in his hand, which he put into his sleeve, and began to handle government affairs as Mu Run had suggested.
However, cases that he would normally handle with discretion are now being written down without a second thought, as if wielding a knife.
