Chapter 97 Return Gift

"What is my sister-in-law going to give me?" Xin Sui looked at her with a smile and pushed the two makeup boxes back.

Seeing this, Mu Run couldn't refuse any longer. But as for returning the gift... he touched his sleeve pocket, his eyes suddenly lit up, and he pulled out a paper pouch.

"This is something I made myself, a small gift in return. I'll prepare more later."

"What is it?" Xin Sui didn't care about the size of the gift; in fact, her eyes were full of anticipation.

Fu Yunchen looked at the two of them, then glanced at a table not far behind him, where Xi Gongyong and the woman in purple were sitting.

Xi Gongyong appeared to be joking and laughing with the woman, but he glanced at Mu Run more than once.

Fu Yunchen's eyes narrowed slightly.

Xin Sui suddenly raised her hand and patted Fu Yunchen, her voice so low that only Fu Yunchen himself could hear it: "Don't cause trouble here, the host is on the ship today."

Fu Yunchen picked up his teacup, took a sip, and then spat it out…

"It tastes awful."

"..." Xin Sui was speechless, but couldn't help but retort, "If it tastes bad, then don't drink it."

Mu Run also took a sip; it was aged tea, with a strong, bitter taste. Fu Yunchen had been drinking her tea a lot lately, so this was clearly not to his liking.

"We're here to eat, so plain water is fine." Mu Run poured Fu Yunchen a glass of water.

Fu Yunchen: "Didn't you bring tea?" His eyes glanced at the paper bag in Xin Sui's hand.

So that's what you were planning. Mu Run couldn't help but chuckle. "Those were for Brother Xin Sui. I'll brew some for you when we get back. There are plenty in the storeroom."

Following their words, Xin opened the paper bag. Sure enough, inside was a packet of tea. The tea leaves were dark and glossy with golden-red edges, the leaves were tightly rolled and long, and just by looking at the dry leaves, one could tell they were whole leaves. The aroma was so enticing that even in the lobby filled with the smell of alcohol, one could smell its fragrance, which showed how strong and rich its aroma was.

"Sister-in-law, what kind of tea is this?"

Mu Run replied, “Golden Osmanthus. Its edges are golden, and although it has the fragrance of orchids, the osmanthus flavor is stronger. Moreover, it is very strong; after two infusions, the body will feel the tea's energy. Drinking it on an empty stomach can easily cause tea intoxication.”

"Tea intoxication? What's that?"

"You get drunk from drinking alcohol, and you get drunk from drinking tea too. And the feeling of being drunk can be even more unpleasant than being drunk from alcohol."

"Can I try it now?" My heart stirred.

Mu Run shook her head, "No, I haven't eaten yet. Drinking on an empty stomach is bad for my health."

Xin Sui hurriedly replied, "I ate a long time ago, about an hour ago, I ate half a roasted lamb leg."

"Alright, the timing is perfect." Mu Run called to the waiter to bring a covered teacup and a pot of freshly boiled water.

"I want one too," Fu Yunchen seized the opportunity to ask.

Mu Run glanced at him and said, "No, let's talk about it an hour after dinner."

Fu Yunchen: "..."

Xin Sui glanced at Fu Yunchen with a gloating look, then continued to ask Mu Run, "But everyone drinks tea before and after meals."

"Actually, this habit is bad for your health. There are a few exceptions where you can drink tea between meals. But most teas are not suitable. At least, none of the teas I make are."

Hot water and gaiwan teacups were brought over. Mu Run first rinsed the teaware with hot water, her movements skillful and graceful.

Fu Yunchen glanced at Xi Gongyong... This guy was no longer talking to the woman who came with him; his eyes were fixed on their table with a burning intensity, or rather, he was looking at Mu Run.

Xin Sui didn't know how to appreciate tea, so Mu Run taught him how to smell the aroma, shake the incense, and savor the fragrance. One spoke earnestly, and the other listened attentively.

Once the golden-orange tea liquor is brewed, the aroma dissipates instantly.
