Mu Run poured a cup for Xin Sui using the fairness cup, "Here, have a taste."
Xin Sui looked at the golden-orange, translucent tea soup in front of her, the aroma filling her nostrils. "Thank you, sister-in-law. Then I won't be polite."
The tea soup immediately moistens the throat and leaves a rich, mellow, and sweet taste.
"Delicious!" Xin Sui usually prefers drinking alcohol and rarely drinks tea. She is a novice tea drinker and can't distinguish many flavors, but she just thinks it tastes good and wants more. "It's different from what I've had before."
"oh?"
“I used to drink bitter and astringent medicine, which was only slightly better than herbal decoction. But who would drink herbal decoction if they didn’t have something to do?”
"It may be related to the brewing method; if it is brewed too strong, it will be both bitter and astringent."
"I really like this tea, sister-in-law."
Mu Run smiled and said, "I'm glad you like it. I'll give you some more later."
Xin Sui nodded hastily, "I want this too."
"Why don't you try some other flavors? Your sister-in-law has several kinds of tea, all of them are quite good. One of them is Yipin Qilan, with a delicate orchid fragrance. It still has flavor even after the ninth infusion, and it's perfect for a novice tea drinker like you."
"I want them all, I want them all."
While Mu Run and Xin Sui were talking, Fu Yunchen secretly poured himself a cup of tea and slowly sipped it.
Thinking he hadn't attracted attention, but the table was so small, how could he not see it? Mu Run pushed a plate of dried fruit and peanuts towards him, "Have some with your drink."
Fu Yunchen put down his teacup, picked up a peanut and ate it. "Is this refined tea?"
"Yes, I tried making some today. It feels different from Maocha tea, doesn't it?"
"It's different. It doesn't have that raw, briny feeling. The soup is very smooth, and the aroma is more layered and sharp."
"This is the finished tea."
"Excuse me, may I have a cup of tea?"
Mu Run looked up at the sound and saw that it was Xi Gongyong. She was about to greet him when she felt Fu Yunchen, who was sitting next to her, kick her.
"..." Mu Run understood what he meant, sighed inwardly, and lowered his head to prepare the tea.
Fu Yunchen remained silent.
Xin Sui recognized Xi Gongyong and stood up to invite him to sit down, "Of course, Second Master Gong, please sit down."
"A friend?" Xi Gongyong was quite surprised when he heard him reveal his identity, as he did not know him.
Xin Sui was skilled at making human skin masks and frequently changed faces, so it wasn't surprising that Xi Gongyong didn't recognize him. Even his current face wasn't his true appearance; it was just his favorite face, and it had practically become a representation of his true face.
"I follow my heart."
"Ah! So it is Young Master Xin Sui. I have long heard of your great name. My apologies for not recognizing you."
"I dare not accept such praise, please have a seat, Second Master Gong."
Xi Gongyong sat down and looked at Fu Yunchen, especially the cat mask on his face. Suddenly remembering something, he stood up and clasped his hands in a salute, saying, "I was blind and have never seen anything like this before, Poison Prince."
"No need to be polite, please, Second Master Gong." His voice was lower and deeper than usual, lacking some of his usual elegance and youthfulness. If one didn't know who he was, one would mistake him for a stranger.
"Thank you, Young Master Poison." Xi Gongyong then looked at Mu Run, "May I ask who this lady is?"
“Nobody’s worth mentioning,” Mu Run replied.
Upon hearing Mu Run's words, Fu Yunchen smiled faintly and took another sip of tea.
The woman in purple, unwilling to be left out, squeezed in as well.
After being introduced, Mu Run learned that she was Song Mo, the daughter of the prefect of Yingzhou, and also Xi Gongyong's cousin. She had come to the capital with Xi Gongyong, but was going back the next day.
