Chapter 127 Recalling Our First Meeting

That afternoon, they did nothing but snuggle on the sofa and chat about trivial, everyday things.

Ni Sitian listened very carefully to Xu Tingchuan's speech. His family structure was very simple: his father was a provincial bureau leader and his mother was an academician of a research institute. It was a very typical family with both high academic achievements and high social status. His younger sister, Xu Jiayue, was pursuing a master's degree at Imperial College London.

The more she listened, the more she felt that Ms. Jin Rulan's disdain for her was very reasonable. This whole family was full of academic high-achievers, but the addition of a daughter-in-law like her was really lowering their average IQ.

"Xu Tingchuan, why did you marry me?" She lowered her head and sighed, feeling sorry for him. With his qualities, he was a perfect match for any socialite or lady in Yihai City.

"It was probably an impulsive decision. Anyway, you've already married her," Xu Tingchuan said, rubbing her head and suppressing a laugh.

"You sound like you're regretting it." Ni Sitian looked up at him and snorted, "It's too late to regret it now. The goods have been sold and cannot be returned!"

Xu Tingchuan chuckled softly, his magnetic voice whispering in her ear, "Yes, not only was it sold, but I also opened and used it, so it can't be returned."

Ni Sitian blushed again at his words, clenched her little fists, and playfully punched him.

Xu Tingchuan laughed for a while before slowly stopping, his eyes and brows still brimming with a smile. He said, "Actually, that blind date wasn't the first time I saw you."

Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian looked at him in surprise, "Have we met before?"

"To be precise, I saw you, but you probably didn't see me." Xu Tingchuan recalled the scene vividly.

It was the height of summer when he was waiting for Shen Muzhi at a coffee shop on the street corner. His gaze inadvertently fell upon a very dangerous scene outside.

He saw a little boy, about five or six years old, wandering on the road. An electric scooter sped around the corner, and in the blink of an eye, a very small and thin body caught the child!

After a few rolls, the two people rolled to the edge of the bushes, while the electric scooter escaped.

He immediately stood up, made a phone call, and walked out of the coffee shop.

While waiting to cross the street at a traffic light, he saw the girl help the little boy to his feet. The boy's mother thanked her, but seemed afraid of having to pay for medical expenses, and quickly led the boy away.

She was sitting alone on the ground, looking thin and pitiful.

As soon as the traffic light changed, he immediately headed in that direction, but before he could reach her, she had already pushed herself up, dusted herself off, and limped away.

He tried to catch up, but Shen Muzhi had already arrived and parked his car in front of him.

Finally, he watched as she hailed a taxi and left.

"I had completely forgotten about it." Ni Sitian scratched her head, only remembering it after he mentioned it.

Xu Tingchuan gently pinched her nose and smiled faintly.

This incident left a deep impression on him, so when he entered that coffee shop again half a month later, the first person he saw was her.

"So, you deliberately made a mistake?" Ni Sitian thought for a moment and felt something was off. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "Judging from your age, Miss Jiang, whom you were on a blind date with, must be at least twenty-six or twenty-seven years old, right?"

Xu Tingchuan did not deny it. Before Ni Sitian could speak again, he pinched her chin and pressed his lips against hers.

She was once again lost in his kiss, so engrossed that she forgot to investigate whether he was doing it intentionally or unintentionally.
