Chapter 1536 Extra Chapter 046: A Pinky Ring

That glare dissolved the estrangement of the past few days, and the closeness of the past returned.

Xu Ziyu smiled faintly, noticing that she looked quite well, unlike the listless woman he had seen the other day.

Luo Xikui felt particularly awkward and shy as he stared at her without saying a word, especially with a rare smile on his lips.

She first lowered her head, pursed her lips, then looked up and suddenly found a topic to discuss, holding up the rabbit in her hand and asking, "What does this mean?"

Xu Ziyu glanced at the rabbit with the recording function, his gaze unchanged, and said in his usual tone, "It means exactly what it says."

Luo Xikui snorted, not quite satisfied with the answer.

"Luo Xikui," Xu Ziyu called her by her full name.

"What?" She looked up at him, still bothered by his ambiguity.

"You look beautiful when you play the violin." When he was little, he only thought she was cute. The first time he thought she was beautiful was when she was wearing that light blue dress and participating in the youth group competition at the concert hall.

It is gentle and quiet, like a babbling brook under the sunlight, reflecting a dazzling light.

Luo Xikui was quite embarrassed by his sudden compliment, as it was the first time he had ever praised her for being beautiful.

"I will play even better in the future." She had already made up her mind. She was afraid she could not catch up with him academically, so she would make the most of her strengths and stand at the same height as him on another mountain.

"Yes, I believe you can do it." Xu Ziyu smiled faintly, placing his large hand on her head.

She felt that the gesture was like encouraging a child, so she patted his hand.

He suppressed a laugh and moved his head away from hers.

Then the announcement to arrive at the station came on again; there was no time left.

The sorrow of parting welled up in Luo Xikui's heart again, and the smile on her face vanished completely.

"Have a safe journey." She took a deep breath, forcing herself to cheer up and smile at him again.

Xu Ziyu looked at her hair and smiled slightly: "Goodbye."

After speaking, he withdrew his gaze and turned to leave.

Luo Xikui tugged at the corner of his shirt, her voice choked with emotion: "If you come back too late, be careful you don't fall for someone else."

"Mmm," Xu Ziyu responded softly, without turning to look at her. He couldn't bear to see her eyes redden like a rabbit's.

Luo Xikui slowly loosened his grip until the hem of his clothes fell off, and his back was seen striding towards the checkpoint.

She stared intently until his figure disappeared at the border crossing.

She slowly came to her senses. What did his "hmm" mean? Did it mean he promised to come back early? Or did it mean it didn't matter if she liked someone else?

Honestly, she's so stupid, she should have asked clearly!

Just as she was feeling annoyed, Xiang Hengxi and Xin Chun walked towards her.

Xiang Hengxi looked at the top of his sister's head, frowned in confusion, and asked, "What's that on your head?"

"What?" Luo Xikui was completely confused.

Xin Chun also looked up at her head, while Xiang Hengxi reached out and took the thing off. A thin chain hung from the hair clip, and the pendant was a plain silver ring.

Luo Xikui was taken aback, and reached out to take it from Xiang Hengxi.

These plain silver rings are everywhere in jewelry stores; they're little trinkets that cost less than a hundred yuan, except they have an "X" engraved on the inside.

When he touched her hair just now, was it this that got caught on her hair clip?

"Tsk, so you're already giving away rings without even getting my permission as your brother-in-law," Xiang Hengxi teased with a smile.

Luo Xikui blushed. It was just a pinky ring, it didn't mean anything, so why make fun of her?

After blushing, she couldn't help but look at Xin Chun, afraid that Xin Chun would feel uncomfortable.

However, when she saw that Xin Chun's expression was normal and she even had a slight smile, she felt relieved.

After putting away the thin chain, they walked out of the airport terminal together.

Once outside, the sun shone brightly overhead, casting white streaks across the azure sky above the airport.

At that moment, another plane steadily took off, roaring as it left a contrail, heading towards the distant horizon.

Luo Xikui gripped the pinky ring tightly, tilting her head back to watch it disappear into the horizon.
