I'm not someone you can just give up on.
Is this a response to her saying not to investigate, or does it mean she doesn't want him anymore?
Luo Xikui kept thinking about this question on her way back, but she couldn't figure it out. Every time he said something, she had to rack her brains.
Is it no longer possible to hide what happened four years ago?
Luo Xikui was so annoyed that she had a headache. Just as her car was about to reach her house, a person walked out from under the streetlight and got so close to the car.
She slammed on the brakes and quickly got out of the car.
"Xiao Chun." Luo Xi Kui walked up to her anxiously and asked worriedly, "Are you alright?"
Xin Chun shook his head, his gaze lingering on her lips for a moment, then looking into her eyes, remaining silent for a long time.
Luo Xikui now always felt guilty and indebted in front of her. Her silence made her even more flustered, as if her gaze could see through everything.
"Didn't you say you'd be back in a couple of days?" Luo Xikui pursed her lips awkwardly. Just now in front of the fountain, unwilling to be mocked by her for his poor kissing skills, he grabbed her and tried to kiss her again. But what he did wasn't a kiss; it was clearly a bite, which made her lips swell up.
"Since there were tickets available, I booked early." Xin Chun smiled faintly, but there was little joy in her dark eyes.
"Then let's go in and sit down." Luo Xikui realized that she didn't seem to have much to say to Xin Chun. After that incident, all she felt when she was with her was guilt and discomfort.
She was even selfish enough not to see Xin Chun at all, because seeing Xin Chun would remind her of that incident and create invisible pressure.
"No, thank you." Xin Chun took out a small box from her trench coat pocket, handed it to Luo Xikui, and said with a faint smile, "I'm sorry I missed your first performance. This is a gift."
Luo Xikui took it, opened the small box, and found a pair of earrings.
"Thank you." She accepted it because she didn't want to refuse.
"You're even more beautiful than before," Xin Chun said, looking at her face as if she were genuinely praising her.
Luo Xikui smiled slightly. According to social etiquette, she should return the compliment, but Xin Chun was at most a pretty girl. If she said, "You are the one," it would be a bit hypocritical.
"You seem to have lost some weight." Luo Xikui looked at Xin Chun's face and felt that she had not only lost weight, but also become much paler, which made her eyes look dark and empty, and she didn't look very energetic.
"I can't get used to the food there." Xin Chun gripped the handle of her suitcase tightly, then added, "Ah Yu..."
"There's nothing between him and me!" Luo Xikui reflexively denied it, looking nervously at Xin Chun, and said, "I will keep my word."
“Xiao Kui, you really don’t need to do this.” Xin Chun shook her head and said, “You don’t need to compensate me, and besides…”
“Xiao Chun, I’m going to Vienna, and I’ll probably settle down in Europe in the future,” Luo Xi Kui interrupted her again.
Xin Chun looked at her and said, "You know the classical music environment there is much better. My dream is to perform a solo in Vienna."
"You can definitely do it." Xin Chun reached out and shook Luo Xi Kui's hand.
Luo Xikui felt the coldness of her palm and the scar across it, and memories flooded back.
She took a deep breath and said to Xin Chun, "You will succeed too."
Xin Chun smiled faintly and said, "I will be joining M&K this time."
"That's great." Luo Xikui smiled, but her smile was somewhat forced and bitter. M&K is Uncle Xu's company, and Ziyu has come back this time to gradually take over.
From then on, Ziyu and Xiaochun spent every day together.
