Chapter 1617, Side Story 127: Fleeting Happiness

Looking into her expectant eyes, Xu Ziyu thought for a moment, then put his arm around her and said, "We love each other, may we be of one heart forever and grow old together."

Luo Xikui was stunned for a moment, then laughed and cried at the same time, pouting: "Why are you being so elegant? It makes me seem so shameless."

"Then what do you want me to say?" Xu Ziyu asked, pinching her cheek.

Luo Xikui rolled her eyes, put her arms around his neck, and whispered a few idioms in his ear while standing on tiptoe.

Xu Ziyu felt a ticklish, tingling sensation as her breath brushed against his ear, and coupled with her nonsensical idioms, his entire ear turned red.

Seeing his adorable red ears, Luo Xikui gave them a big kiss.

"Where did you learn all this nonsense?" Xu Ziyu pinched the tip of her nose. Her vocabulary of idioms could fill an entire encyclopedia of censorship; he would never dare to utter them.

"Don't you like it?" Luo Xikui raised an eyebrow.

Xu Ziyu smiled faintly; he preferred to be a doer rather than just talk.

He wrapped his arms around her waist, lifted her up, and lowered his head to bite her lips.

In the sacred church, a tender and passionate kiss began.

Happy times always pass too quickly. Luo Xikui was still immersed in the joy of being proposed to when Xu Ziyu only had five hours left before his return trip.

During those five hours, Luo Xikui also had a band concert in the afternoon, so they had even less time to spend alone together.

When the two arrived at the concert hall, Luo Xikui reluctantly let go of him and went backstage.

After preparing for more than half an hour, she and the band took to the stage.

Xu Ziyu sat in the front row, watching the curtain open and the lights come on.

It was as if the other members of the band didn't exist; he could only see her.

She stood closest to the conductor, dressed in a white dress, her hair seemingly glowing.

He smiled faintly, feeling as if he had returned to the first time he watched her play the violin in the audience.

The melodious music began, gradually becoming more stirring, like a thousand horses galloping past and echoing in his ears.

When the piece ended, the audience remained immersed in the symphony for a long time.

Amidst thunderous applause, the band members walked to the front of the stage to take their bows.

Xu Ziyu also smiled and applauded Luo Xikui.

After bowing, Luo Xikui looked up and winked at him with one eye.

Fortunately, there was only one violin symphony today, and she changed her clothes after playing it.

She walked to the door where she had arranged to meet Xu Ziyu. Seeing him waiting with his back to the door, she couldn't wait to rush over and hug his strong waist from behind: "Ayu!"

Xu Ziyu slowly turned around, pulled her into his arms, and smiled gently as he tidied her hair: "The performance was a great success."

"Really?" Luo Xikui tilted her head back, hoping to receive more and more praise from him, just as she always had.

"Hmm, you played very well." This was the first time Xu Ziyu had heard her play in a concert hall since her success. He felt that she was like an elf standing on the stage. Although she was not far away, she was so beautiful that it seemed unreal.

"Ayu, are you unhappy?" Luo Xikui noticed that although he was smiling, his smile seemed different from the one he wore in church. She keenly sensed his emotions.

"No." Xu Ziyu patted her head, his eyes deep, and said, "Is it really a good idea for you to give up joining the band?"

For musicians, joining such a world-class symphony orchestra must be a dream come true.

Just before she went backstage, a middle-aged man in a tuxedo tried to persuade her to join the band, and he heard her refuse without hesitation.
