Chapter 1696 Hengheng's Side Story 4: An'an Faints

Jing An'an bit her pale lips, sweat blurring her vision and consciousness. She ran mechanically, silently counting the laps in her mind, paying no attention to Xiang Hengxi beside her.

This track is huge, unlike the 400-meter track at her school. She estimated that if she ran ten laps, it would be at least 8,000 meters.

She used to be last in her class in the 800-meter race, and she had never run a long-distance race like that before.

After circling around twice more, Jing An'an felt like she was about to ascend to heaven. Her legs no longer belonged to her; they felt like a drowning person whose ankles were tangled in seaweed, and she couldn't be dragged away at all.

Seeing that she was about to collapse, Xiang Hengxi reached out to help her up, but despite seeing her swaying several times, she persevered.

When she finished the last lap, her knees buckled and she was about to fall to the ground. Xiang Hengxi grabbed her arm, but her legs just wouldn't stop her from kneeling down.

He simply grabbed her arms and used his strength to support her as she stood.

If I collapse now, I'll feel even worse when I wake up tomorrow.

But she had already lost consciousness, her head swaying limply from side to side.

His face was a dark reddish-black, as if he had been poisoned.

"2918, 2918!" Xiang Hengxi called out Jing An'an's number. Seeing that she didn't react, he immediately picked her up and strode towards the military medical room.

She was lighter than he had imagined, curled up on his arm like a cat; the barbells he usually lifted were much heavier than her.

With such a low level of skill, what were they thinking, daring to join the military, let alone the special forces?

There were female special forces soldiers in the army, but they were all as burly as men. Apart from the nurse in the medical ward, she was the first woman he had met in the army who seemed like a woman.

No, I should say it's a girl. Does she look like she's in her early twenties?

As Xiang Hengxi pondered this, he entered the military medical room.

The old military doctor and the young nurse immediately went over and led Xiang Hengxi into the inner room.

"Old Wang, could you please check if she has heatstroke? She fainted while running." Xiang Hengxi put Jing An'an on the bed.

"Isn't this An'an? What happened to her?" Dr. Wang quickly put on his stethoscope and listened to her chest. Her heart was beating very fast and strongly, as if it was about to jump out of her chest, but her breathing was very slow, and she was about to run out of breath.

He immediately had the nurse unbutton her collar, fetch some Tiger Balm to rub on her temples, and gently fanned her with a palm-leaf fan to help her breathe more easily.

She coughed, and her breathing gradually returned to normal, but she was still unconscious.

"Why isn't she awake?" Xiang Hengxi asked.

"How many laps did you make her run? She almost went into shock." Doctor Wang scolded Xiang Hengxi angrily. Although Xiang Hengxi had a higher military rank than him, the patient was the most important person to him.

Besides, the patient is Jing An'an, and this little girl even helped him fix his computer today and retrieved the previous patient files, which was a great help.

"Only ten laps." Xiang Hengxi touched his nose. Doctor Wang was an elder, and he had treated him when he was a child, so he was naturally not as fierce as he was on the training field.

"Is it the large playground?"

"Hmm." Xiang Hengxi noticed that Jing An'an seemed to be feeling better, so he asked, "Is she alright?"

"She won't die, but she won't live well either." Doctor Wang prescribed medicine and said, "She had a fever when she came here at noon, and I prescribed her fever reducer. But with all this trouble you've caused, she won't get better anytime soon."
