Chapter 480 Infertility as a Scapegoat

Ni Sitian's face grew paler and paler as she carefully recalled how he would intentionally or unintentionally probe her every time she mentioned the child. He must have already discovered his own problem by then, right?

However, she was careless and unaware that her husband had such a serious health problem.

Looking back now, it feels like she was constantly stabbing him in the heart!

But he's so healthy, and he performs so well in bed, so his dosage should be within the normal range, right? How could he have that kind of problem? How could he possibly have that kind of problem?

Ni Sitian was in a state of confusion. She had no experience with other men and was unsure if her judgment was correct. She just felt that Xu Tingchuan couldn't possibly have such a problem.

The results from online searches show that only 10% of men may have infertility, and within that 10%, there are many different types of infertility, with his specific problem being extremely rare.

Ni Sitian bit her lip, her mind a jumble of thoughts. She even wondered if Xu Tingchuan's case was a joke he was planning on her for April Fool's Day, which was just ten days away.

She knew the idea was absurd, and she couldn't even convince herself of it.

If this is true, what should she do? Should she tell him that she won't leave him because of this, or pretend that she doesn't know anything and not hurt his pride?

“What should I do…” Ni Sitian’s eyes reddened, she lowered her head, held her forehead in her hands, her mind in turmoil and she was at a loss for what to do. She couldn’t discuss such a private matter with anyone else.

She suddenly realized that if she was so confused, how much more distressed must Xu Tingchuan have felt when he first learned of her illness? He was such a person who wasn't good at expressing his emotions, so he must have felt very depressed and sad.

Several times he seemed to want to bring something up with her, but he always stopped halfway through. Was he worried that she would mind and not want him anymore?

She wanted to tell him that she wouldn't, that even without children, even if it was just the two of them, they could be very, very happy.

Ni Sitian's body reacted before her mind could process it; while her mind was still in turmoil, her hand had already dialed Xu Tingchuan's number.

When she came to her senses and tried to hang up, the call had already been connected, and Xu Tingchuan's clear, magnetic voice came from the other end: "Hello."

Ni Sitian panicked a little, unsure of what to say. After he called out "hello" again out of concern, she swallowed hard and said in a low, hoarse voice, "Did you receive the email?"

"Hmm." Xu Tingchuan knew from her voice that she now believed the medical record he had prepared. The reason he took the blame for her infertility was not only to ease her burden and make her feel indebted to him, but also because he had a deeper reason.

He wanted to know if her feelings for him were as deep as his feelings for her, and he was paving the way so that if one day she found out the truth, he could tell her that she had never given up on him because of this, and that he felt the same way she did back then.

This might reduce her sense of guilt and her overthinking.

“You…” Ni Sitian wanted to say something, but didn’t know how to express it, so she could only say, “Don’t work too hard, take care of your health.”

"Yes, I'll be careful," Xu Tingchuan said with a faint smile.

After a long silence from Ni Sitian, he asked, "Is there anything else?"

Ni Sitian was silent for a moment, then pursed her lips and said, "I miss you."
