The conversation quickly turned to marriage.
“My daughter Xiaoyu is another year older this year. She’s a very sensible and filial child, but she doesn’t like going on blind dates or finding a partner. No matter how much I urge her, she won’t listen. If this drags on, she’ll really become an old maid!” Hou Yongxian said, glancing unnoticed at Gu Wei not far away.
Gu Jianguo didn't notice Hou Yongxian's actions. He flicked his cigarette ash into the ashtray and comforted him, "Isn't everyone advocating for late marriage and late childbirth these days?
