Dream Program
Despite Chou Doufu's repeated requests for escort, Leng Yue still didn't want anyone to follow her, so Chou Doufu had to give her a good horse, and everyone sent her out of Sifang City together.
"Miss Leng, it would be safer to find someone to travel with." Sima Changfeng said.
Leng Yue smiled and shook her head.
"Since Miss Leng is unwilling, let's not force her." Ouyang Mingri said, "Miss Lengyue, take care of yourself."
"Take care, everyone." Leng Yue stole a glance at Ouyang Mingri, but met Ouyang Mingri's gaze.
Goodbye, Mr. Tomorrow, Leng Yue thought.
"Take care, Lengyue." Shangguan Yan said.
"Take care, Miss Leng." Sima Changfeng said.
Frontier old man: "Take care."
Gu Mutian: "Take care."
Stinky Tofu: "Please take care."
With a cry of "take care", Leng Yue led the horse and set out on the journey "home".
----The reason she was holding the horse was because she didn't know how to ride.
Seeing this, the answer can be revealed. Who is Leng Yue?
In fact, it is not surprising that Leng Yue said "natural curls". Stinky tofu also said "Jurassic". Although her words and deeds are still gentle and polite, we modern people are most familiar with modern people. Even if she just said natural curls, everyone still guessed that Leng Yue was a modern person.
You guessed it right, she is a modern Ming fan.
But did she "travel back to ancient times"? No, for two reasons: First, the story of the Snow Goddess Dragon doesn't take place in ancient times; it's a fictional martial arts tale, so there's no such thing as "traveling back to ancient times"; second, from the moment Abu started writing, he never considered including a time travel plot for her.
There are three popular methods of crossing the ocean:
The first is traveling through time by being struck by lightning (such as Xiaowanzi in "A Love Across Time and Space"); the second is traveling through time by being in a car accident (such as Ruoxi's "brain waves coming out of a fall" in "Scarlet Heart"); the third is traveling through time by getting lost (such as Luo Qingchuan in "Palace Lock Heart Jade").
The protagonists who successfully travel through time through these popular methods are often in a miserable state in reality: either missing, seriously injured and in coma, not to mention more serious situations.
When Chou Doufu asked, "Are your family members worried about you?", Leng Yue hesitated for a long time before she finally said "hmm", because she knew in her heart that she was just lying in bed sleeping soundly, so why would her family be worried about her? That's why Abu said that Leng Yue was not a missing person who traveled through time and space.
So how did Leng Yue get into the plot? The answer is: through lucid dreaming, also known as awake dreaming.
A typical movie about lucid dreaming is "Inception", which you can watch.
Sleep is a special state of consciousness. Dreaming brain waves closely resemble those of waking life, leading us all to experience vivid dreams to varying degrees. Abu recently followed a forum dedicated to lucid dreaming, where he learned that if you can isolate a portion of your consciousness while dreaming and clearly know you're dreaming, you can control that dream, even creating it at will. If this were true, the all-powerful Mary Sue would either be a psychopath or a complete dream control addict, haha.
One night, just as Abu was about to fall asleep, he suddenly felt his eyes moving rapidly (rapid eye movement is a precursor to dreaming). He knew he was about to dream. The dream was very brief: a person walked to a door, opened it, and then walked out, just a few seconds. Abu thought, "Let me replay it to see who it is," so he replayed the dream, but still couldn't see clearly. He replayed it several more times, and then woke up.
In life, I believe that everyone has experienced the situation where they can control their dreams at will or dream within a dream.
Since Abu himself has not yet experienced what his dream friends call "doing whatever he wants", the procedure of lucid dreaming still refers to the description in the movie "Inception".
According to Abramovich's recollection of "Inception," dreams are divided into multiple levels. The deeper the level, the longer the duration. For example, a five-minute dream is equivalent to an hour in the first level, a month in the second, and ten years in the third. Deeper dreams, closer to the subconscious, are more prone to trouble, as our deepest limiting beliefs can manifest as characters designed to sabotage our plans.
Each dream builder creates multiple layers of dreams. In a certain layer, if you commit suicide or die within a specified timeframe, you can return to the previous layer (or return to reality if you're in the first layer). However, if you're accidentally killed, you'll fall into a deeper layer, which can be quite troublesome. If you fall into the final layer and die unexpectedly, you might be trapped there, unable to escape.
Furthermore, according to the film "Inception," people in dreams also have five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch), just like in real life. They can die, get injured, and feel pain, even though the person lying in the dream world doesn't actually suffer any injuries.
Abu has only read Inception once, so he may not fully understand some things and may have misremembered some details, but this does not affect the progress of the novel. Because - no matter how the levels of dreams are divided, they are just a process that serves the plot. Everyone can just understand it and there is no need to be too serious about it.
So, inspired by "Inception," Abu cast Leng Yue as a dream controller and constructed a dreamscape based on the final episode of "Snow Goddess Dragon." To prolong her life, she entered the second level of dreams. A typical office worker sleeps seven hours. If five minutes in the second level equals a month, then seven hours in reality = 5 minutes x 12 x 7 hours = one month in the dream x 12 x 7 = seven years in the dreamscape.
If seven years were such a long time, why did Leng Yue leave so early? He carried a dagger and left his money behind, clearly planning to die early.
Leng Yue thought, since Ouyang Mingri and Shangguan Yan were already alive, their time in the spotlight had come, and they'd flirted with the handsome guys they were supposed to flirt with, it was time to call it a day. If Ouyang Mingri really did fall in love with her, their relationship would only last seven years at most. Besides, no one could predict how Leng Yue would die after seven years. If it was a horrific death, wouldn't Ouyang Mingri be very sad?
Abu believes that anyone who is a fan of Ming would not want to see Ming sad, and would not even want to think about it, right?
Moreover, if you die unexpectedly and fall into a deeper dream, you may be trapped in the dream and unable to get out, which is still dangerous.
Therefore, Leng Yue decided to die early. This way, his brief appearance would at most leave a good impression on Ming Ri, but would not have too deep an impact.
I've explained so much, but I wonder if you all understand? Abu's explanation was a little confusing.
In short, life is like a dream. There's really no need to dwell too much on the right and wrong. After all, you can't take anything with you when you die. If you think about this, many knots in your heart can be resolved.
But Abu is definitely not suggesting that we take life lightly! As Wang Anshi said in his Zen poem "Dream": "Knowing that the world is like a dream, I seek nothing. With nothing to seek, my heart is empty and quiet. It's like following the dream within a dream, achieving merits as numerous as the sands of the river."
The general meaning of this poem is that if you know that the world is like a dream, you will not force it too much. When you do not force it and let it go, you will reach a state of "emptiness". But you can still regard this dream-like life as a precious experience, live it well, and still achieve something. Even if its essence is like the mud in the river, it is still a merit.
(Abu’s understanding is quite poor, you can go to the Internet to find a better explanation = =)
So, even if our lives are truly just a dream, we should still be a bit majestic in our dreams, right? After all, everyone needs to realize their true self-worth. And since everything is a valuable experience, why not live it to the fullest? When you think about it this way, life becomes incredibly rewarding, right?
Okay, let’s get back to the plot.
Leng Yue was walking down the road, leading her horse. She couldn't tell the direction, nor did she want to. Why would someone who was about to die need to know the directions so clearly?
After walking for a long time, until their legs were sore, they finally found an uninhabited wilderness with mountains, water and beautiful scenery. Leng Yue was really a little tired.
After sitting on the grass and resting for a while, her fatigue eased a little. She stood up, stroked the horse's mane, and said, "Horse, horse, I'm so sorry. It's my fault that you left the palace. Now you can go back, or find a new master. Either way, I believe you will make the right choice."
The horse grumbled a few times, and Leng Yue couldn't understand what it was saying. Regardless of what it said, it was time to go their separate ways. So, she slapped the horse's butt hard with her hand, and the horse neighed and galloped away.
Leng Yue took out the dagger Shangguan Yan had given her and slowly pulled it out. The brand new blade gleamed in the sunlight. Using such a cool piece of equipment to commit suicide would surely be very effective, Leng Yue thought.
She gritted her teeth and slashed her left wrist hard. The blade felt cool to the touch and didn't seem to hurt much. But after about ten seconds, a piercing pain came over her and blood began to gurgle out. But Leng Yue was very conscious and she was very aware that she was not dead yet! Not only was she not dead, who knew how long it would take for her to die from the bleeding? Ouch, it hurts so much. Cutting one's wrists to commit suicide is not a wise move.
So she raised the knife again, aimed at her abdomen, and prepared to strike hard.
Why not aim for the heart? Because she stuffed the prescription in her breast pocket and didn't want to dirty the prescription Ouyang Mingri gave her, even though she couldn't take it with her. However, if a caesarean section can't kill her in one blow, then consider the heart, Leng Yue thought.
Just as the knife was about to pierce the abdomen, something suddenly hit Leng Yue's hand with a "bang", and the dagger was knocked off.
Immediately afterwards, two more objects hit Leng Yue's body, and then she knew nothing.
Because Leng Yue's wrist-cutting was too sudden, Shangguan Yan and Sima Changfeng, who were hiding in the dark, had no time to stop her. When they were about to stop her from committing suicide a second time, someone suddenly attacked her even faster. Then, the other person pressed Leng Yue's acupoints and took her away.
That person turned out to be Bantianyue.
Shangguan Yan and Sima Changfeng looked at each other, feeling a little unbelievable.
In the imperial palace, inside the imperial study.
Seeing Feng Yan and the others coming back, Chou Doufu and Ouyang Mingri hurriedly asked, "How is it?"
Shangguan Yan shook her head. "We acted too late. Bantianyue took her away."
Ouyang Mingri frowned slightly, and although he pretended to be calm, his clenched fists were still shaking a little.
Sima Changfeng said: "It seems that Leng Yue is indeed a member of the Shenyue Sect."
Shangguan Yan said: "Although Leng Yue is a member of the Shenyue Sect, in my impression, she has always been a gentle and kind girl."
Stinky Tofu said, "I also think Leng Yue is not a bad person. She may have her own reasons."
Shangguan Yan said, "Leng Yue did so much for us, and would rather die than return to the Shenyue Sect, but in the end, he was taken back by Bantian Yue. I'm afraid..."
"Bantianyue will not let her go." Ouyang Mingri sighed.
