Farewell and Debt Collection

Farewell and Debt Collection

Leng Yue usually likes to sit in the yard and enjoy the night view, but today she is really enjoying the crabapple blossoms, and she would occasionally put her nose close to them to smell them.

Leng Yue had almost finished admiring the crabapple blossoms and was about to find a stool to sit down. As soon as she turned sideways, she heard a voice commanding, "Don't move!"

Leng Yue was startled and turned back quickly. Suddenly, she felt that the voice was very familiar, so she turned back.

Seeing Ouyang Mingri quickly sketching her image on paper, Leng Yue sneered, "Young Master, don't you even ask for other people's consent before drawing a portrait?"

"Whether you agree or not, I've already drawn it." Ouyang Mingri put away his brush and said, "Okay."

The woman's profile in the painting is depicted very vividly. She is holding a flower branch in her right hand and smelling the fragrance attentively.

"Am I so ugly that I don't even paint my face?" Leng Yue said with a pout.

"Not really. If you paint just for the sake of painting, you lose the natural charm." Ouyang Mingri changed the subject and said jokingly, "Look, a person with a poor nose is seriously sniffing the fragrance of flowers. How interesting."

Leng Yue blushed: "How did you know?"

"Have you forgotten? I'm a miracle doctor." Ouyang Mingri said.

"Sir, you are not kind." Leng Yue frowned.

"Aren't you going to take it away?" Ouyang Mingri handed the portrait to Leng Yue.

Leng Yue didn't take it, but just shook her head and said, "I can't take anything away."

"Then take this with you." Ouyang Mingri took out a note from his arms and handed it to her.

Leng Yue opened it and saw the words written on it: "Three grams each of Schizonepeta tenuifolia, Lilium bulb, Astragalus root, Millettia reticulata, and Xanthium sibiricum, two grams of Magnolia officinalis, and one gram of Asarum. Boil in water and drink."

"What is this?" Leng Yue asked.

"A prescription to cure your stinky nose." Ouyang Mingri said with a smile.

Leng Yue choked up, quickly lowered her head to put the prescription away, adjusted her mood, and smiled brightly: "Thank you, sir."

"Miss, you are not really going back to your hometown in Shandong, right?" Ouyang Mingri asked.

"Go back to where you came from." Leng Yue said.

"Where does the girl come from?"

"From..." Leng Yue raised her head and looked at the starry sky, and asked: "Have you found my natal star?"

Ouyang Mingri shook his head and asked, "Why is that?"

Leng Yue smiled and said, "Zhuang Zhou dreamed of a butterfly. Was it the butterfly that turned into Zhuang Zhou in its dream, or was it Zhuang Zhou that turned into a butterfly in his dream?"

"Could it be that the girl is really the Yaochi Fairy?"

"Everything is like a dream." Leng Yue's voice sounded like a dream talk.

"Girl, you mean, all this is just a dream of yours?"

Leng Yue nodded.

"Could it be that even us, and everything that happened here, were just a dream?" Ouyang Mingri expressed his disbelief. "Even I, Ouyang Mingri, don't exist?!?"

"It's not you, it's me." Leng Yue said, "To you, I don't exist, and I shouldn't be here."

"But you still came, you still stayed, and now you are leaving again." Ouyang Mingri said.

"I came here because you and Shangguan Yan were in trouble. Now that you are both safe and sound, it's time for me to leave." Leng Yue said.

"Since it is a dream, why should we save the imaginary person in the dream? Since we are here, why not enjoy the trip?" Ouyang Mingri asked.

"Sir, are you reluctant to leave me?" Leng Yue asked with a smile.

Ouyang Mingri shook his head and laughed at himself: "Ouyang Mingri prides himself on being cool and effortless, but he's not as cool and effortless as you, girl."

Leng Yue chuckled and said, "Actually, I'm not cool either."

When Leng Yue returned to the room, she found Shangguan Yan had been waiting outside the door for a long time.

"Miss Shangguan," Leng Yue opened the door and invited, "Please come in and talk."

"Miss Lengyue, thank you for saving my life." Shangguan Yan said.

"You are too polite," Leng Yue said with a smile, "I am not that great. Saving you is my need, not yours."

"What do you mean?"

"I saved you and Ouyang Mingri. Doesn't that make me seem very powerful and valuable? You all like me and are grateful to me, don't you?" Leng Yue said with a smile.

"But I still don't quite understand." Shangguan Yan said.

Leng Yue smiled and said, "It doesn't matter if you don't understand. I'm just like that. I always like to help others to show my value. That's why I said that saving you is my personal need, and you don't need to be grateful."

"No, I should be grateful," Shangguan Yan said. "It's rare for Miss Leng Yue to be so open-minded. If it weren't for Miss Leng Yue, Shangguan Yan wouldn't be standing here alive today. So, no matter what your purpose was in saving us, you will always be my savior. I believe Sai Hua Tuo feels the same way."

"Then," Leng Yue blinked mischievously, "since I've done you a favor, how are you going to repay me? Leng Yue never buys on credit, and always collects debts."

"I wonder what I can do for you, Shangguan Yan?" Shangguan Yan asked.

"I'm leaving tomorrow and I want to ask you for a dagger for self-defense. It's best if it's beautiful and exquisite." Leng Yue said with a smile.

"Well, okay." Shangguan Yan nodded and walked out of the room.

On Leng Yue's table were the travel expenses given by Gumutian and the old man from the frontier, the clothes given by Choudoufu, the prescription given by Ouyang Mingri, and the small dagger given by Shangguan Yan.

Leng Yue packed her clothes into her bag, took out a few small coins from her purse and stuffed them into her belt, put the prescription into her chest pocket, and then put the purse under her pillow.

She sat on the bed, playing with the dagger Shangguan Yan had given her. It was indeed an exquisite dagger, with a wonderful grip. The brown cowhide scabbard was intricately carved with patterns. The blade was neither too long nor too short, and the handle was also wrapped in a layer of cowhide, with a lotus engraved on it.

Leng Yue slowly drew out the dagger and looked at the gleaming blade with interest. It looked very sharp, and in the dim candlelight, it shone like a mirror.

"It shouldn't hurt." Leng Yue thought.

Leng Yue didn't know that Ouyang Mingri was silently observing all this outside the window.
