Chapter 123 Data has been modified

Ruan Yunhan was somewhat taken aback. She vaguely heard Su Jin's words hadn't even finished when Ruan Chen pressed the button on the phone.

She felt like she was doomed.

Not only did Su Jin fail to complete the task he was entrusted with, but he himself had also been so foolish as to call Su Jin to Ruan Chen.

It wasn't until Ruan Chen's figure disappeared into the distance that Ruan Yunhan realized what was happening. She was eager to call Su Jin to explain, but Su Jin had already called her back before she could.

"Ruan Chen, let me explain..."

Ruan Yunhan interrupted him, "Ajin, it's me."

"It's you?" Su Jin's slightly anxious tone immediately calmed down, even becoming somewhat cold. "Where is Ruan Chen?"

"She hung up on you and left. What explanation do you have?"

Su Jin was somewhat irritable; clearly, Ruan Chen had seen through his thoughts.

So when he spoke to Ruan Yunhan, he was rather irritable, saying, "If you have time, please apologize to her for me."

This time, Ruan Yunhan did not obediently agree as usual. Instead, she questioned, "Ajin, what exactly do you want by provoking her? She has already given you the cold shoulder, and you still want to fawn over her? She is just an unfavored second young lady of the Ruan family. If you want anything from the Ruan family, you can just ask me directly!"

Su Jin dodged the whistling crossbow bolt by tilting his head, but a bloody scratch appeared on his cheek. He wiped the blood away with his thumb and hid behind a low wall.

He suddenly chuckled softly.

"I thought you'd love for me to get lost," the search footsteps drew closer, and the beam of a flashlight shone from afar. Su Jin seemed completely oblivious to the danger he was in, his tone unusually flippant, "If I hook up with her, wouldn't you be able to get rid of me?"

By the pool, Ruan Yunhan gripped her phone tightly, gazing at the shimmering, mirror-like surface of the pool and her own reflection.

Su Jin is a net, dangerous and omnipresent, enveloping her. She can't escape, and suddenly she doesn't want to escape anymore.

That crown pendant from this afternoon was the only thing that caught her eye.

Actually, she didn't say anything at the time. She just stared at the beautiful and exquisite piece of jewelry. She wanted to take a picture of it, but she was wary of Su Jin's warning to keep a low profile, so she remained silent.

But those were the only two items that Su Jin raised his paddle for, besides the last item in the auction.

"Have you ever felt anything for me?" Ruan Yunhan suddenly asked a completely unrelated question.

The busy tone came from Su Jin's end.

Su Jin looked at the phone that had been snatched from the ground and smashed to pieces, and smiled with some regret.

He heard the sentence clearly.

"Mr. Su, we've finally found you. You're truly a rare and precious person."

Su Jin shrugged, as if he couldn't see the gun and crossbow pointed at him, and said in a reasonable tone, "Can I borrow your phone? My girlfriend is looking for me."

"Mr. Su, let's not get sentimental at a time like this." The dark muzzle of a gun was pointed at Su Jin's forehead. The man in black, with a fierce face, approached step by step. "Our old man wants to see you. You've been causing too much trouble in our territory these past few days."

Ruan Yunhan stood by the pool for a long time, but her phone screen never lit up again. She didn't call back either. She swam two laps, took a shower, changed her clothes, and went upstairs.

She stood in front of the full-length mirror, changing her clothes expressionlessly, carefully combing her hair, taking a deep breath, her face regaining its haughty air, and then walking downstairs to the conference room in her slender high heels.

She went to find Lin Fengzi.

Seeing that Su Jin was probably out of the question, she couldn't afford to lose this battle.

Only Lin Fengzi and Song Cheng were in the meeting room. When she came over, Song Cheng left the table and tidied up a pile of drawing papers. "Team leader, I'll go back first."

Lin Fengzi waved for him to do as he pleased, and instructed, "Come over at six o'clock tomorrow morning."

When that chubby guy from Songcheng left, he took all the discarded drafts and trash bags with him from the meeting room.

Ruan Yunhan sat down and took out the materials she had prepared beforehand. "Brother Lin, this is a summary of some of your current shortcomings and areas for improvement. Take a look."

Lin Fengzi asked expectantly, "Team Leader Ruan, have you discovered our fatal flaw?"

"Not yet, but I've got some ideas," Ruan Yunhan said calmly. "Brother Lin, take a look at these first; I think they'll be very helpful to you."

Lin Fengzi watched very carefully, occasionally communicating with Ruan Yunhan.

Ruan Yunhan displayed the greatest patience she had ever shown in dealing with Lin Fengzi. The two chatted until after 10 p.m. before Ruan Yunhan finally left, feeling as if they had known each other for a long time.

Lin Fengzi rubbed her face, which was sore from laughing, and looked somewhat puzzled.

He was well-prepared, but Ruan Yunhan seemed genuinely there to discuss the issues, without making any unnecessary movements.

The next day, Lin Fengzi found out exactly what Ruan Yunhan had done.

At six o'clock in the morning, when the sky was still hazy, Song Cheng arrived at the meeting room complaining as he munched on a huge beef burger. "Team leader, you really treat people like animals."

"It's only one day if it's tough," Lin Fengzi said cheerfully. She picked up the hard drive from her pencil case, clicked it into the port, and then reached for the breakfast that Song Cheng had brought her. "Xiao Mu and Jiao Jiao are coming downstairs too. We'll put together the report drafts today so that Ruan Chen can quickly familiarize herself with the framework and content. I estimate that her report will take more than an hour, so her workload is much greater than the four of us."

The computer started scanning the disk automatically, and Lin Fengzi took a big gulp of black tea.

The next second, he was completely stunned.

The computer alerted that there was a Trojan virus. Before Lin Fengzi could reach out to cut off the power, she saw every file on the computer and hard drive pop up frantically and then turn into garbled text!

Lin Fengzi's eyes instantly turned bloodshot. She unplugged the hard drive and restarted the computer, but all the data was gone.

Each folder contained a jumble of random characters.

He felt a chill run through him as he recalled the details he had overlooked the previous night.

Ruan Yunhan splashed water on his pencil case. Since the hard drive contained some data, Lin Fengzi subconsciously reached out and took out the hard drive to wipe it.

But in the chaos, the glass rolled to the ground, scattering shards everywhere.

Lin Fengzi went out and called the cleaning staff, and it was probably at this moment that Ruan Yunhan found an opening.

She had planned very carefully. Even if their group's design still failed in the final round, as long as Lin Fengzi's data was ruined, even if Ruan Yunhan and her team's last step was not satisfactory, they might still be able to win the favor of the judges and professors.

Song Cheng was chewing on his hamburger when he noticed Lin Fengzi's extremely pale face and asked, "Team leader, what's wrong?"

"Our data... is all gone."

Song Cheng didn't take it seriously, "Isn't there a backup on the hard drive?"

“It’s all over,” Lin Fengzi said, her hand squeezing the paper cup out of shape, spilling warm red tea all over her hand. “Our data is all gone.”
