Chapter 124 It's alright, I'll handle it.

Ruan Chen was sound asleep when she was woken up by a series of phone calls.

She sat up abruptly, snapping herself out of it, and answered the phone, her voice a little hoarse from just waking up, "Hello?"

It was Lin Fengzi's voice on the other end, terribly dry.

Ruan Chen hung up the phone, but instead of rushing downstairs to see what was going on, she first washed her face with cold water, brushed her teeth, and casually tidied her hair before going to check the surveillance footage from the small conference room last night.

Ruan Yunhan came prepared this time; she had clearly chosen the wrong angle, and all her subtle movements were hidden in the blind spots of the surveillance cameras.

When she arrived at the conference room downstairs, Lin Fengzi was anxiously calling her tech friend, trying to remotely recover the information from the computer and hard drive.

Ruan Chen sat quietly to the side and waited for a while until Lin Fengzi hung up the phone.

"How is it? How is it?" Song Cheng rushed over to look at the computer.

Lin Fengzi shook her head and placed her hopeful gaze on Ruan Chen.

Only then did the anxious group in the room realize that Ruan Chen had also arrived.

"Ruan Chen, aren't you really good at computer technology?" Bai Jiaojiao's eyes were a little red, as if she was holding back a sob. "You can restore it, right?"

Mu Xiangrong tugged at her, signaling her not to put so much pressure on Ruan Chen. "Ruan Chen, why don't you take a look and see if you have any ideas? If it really doesn't work, we'll think of another way."

Although no one blamed Lin Fengzi, she was clearly upset and stood silently to the side.

Ruan Chen walked to the computer, casually rolled up his sleeves slightly, revealing a faint gold thread on his wrist that reflected light. His aura was calm and composed. "It's a small matter, I can handle it."

"Really?" Song Cheng said incredulously, "The team leader's friend just said that the virus Ruan Yunhan used is beyond redemption and there is no way to repair it."

Mu Xiangrong had no doubt, "Ruan Chen is the kind of person who can even break into the system of those bandits on Liuli Island! I knew you had a way!"

“I can’t solve this virus either,” Ruan Chen shrugged, still calm, his fingers working methodically on the keyboard. “To be honest, it’s my problem. Ruan Yunhan has always been targeting me.”

"Ruan Chen, it was my oversight. I shouldn't have met her in the first place."

“Alright,” Ruan Chen pressed the Enter key heavily, looked up at Lin Fengzi and smiled, “I’ve never seen anyone voluntarily take responsibility for themselves.”

She remained calm and turned the computer screen to face the group. "This is the version we received before the final draft. I had it stored in the cloud and just downloaded it. However, we have made minor adjustments to many data points and details, so we need to work on those as soon as possible."

The group exchanged glances, and Song Cheng spoke up, "All the drafts are with me. I'll go get them, and we can go through the data again with the drafts. We should have enough time."

Bai Jiaojiao whispered, "But there won't be enough time to make a PowerPoint presentation and organize the speech."

Mu Xiangrong clenched his fists fiercely, "At worst, I won't sleep for the next few days. Anyway, there are only three days left."

“It’s not that bad. I’ll restore the data. As soon as I restore a part, you and Song Cheng will immediately make the PPT for that part. Didn’t you already make the framework yesterday? You can just add the content to the framework.” Ruan Chen sat in the chair, resting her chin on her hands, and looked at Bai Jiaojiao and Mu Xiangrong. “Similarly, when the team leader and others finish a part of the PPT, you can make the corresponding speech. We’re doing assembly line work, so it won’t take too much time.”

Lin Fengzi asked, "Ruan Chen, this amount of data is quite large. Can you handle it all by yourself?"

The key lies in data recovery.

Ruan Chen casually skipped through the progress bar, saying, "I'm fine on my end, how about you guys?"

"We can do it too."

"I can."

Everyone expressed their opinions.

"Then I'll go get the draft for you." Song Cheng turned to leave.

“No need,” Ruan Chen called out to him, already turning on her computer and getting busy. “I don’t need to see the draft.”

Her demeanor was calm and composed, yet undeniably authoritative.

The group was startled to realize that after spending the past few days together, they had completely treated Ruan Chen as an ordinary high school student, as a younger sister who was a few years younger than them, and had forgotten who she really was.

She was "R" who easily solved a problem that stumped the National Medical College and a large portion of China's top technical staff back then.

When she was still a junior high school student, she effortlessly turned the tide of the negotiations between the island and China.

Silence fell in the meeting room. The five people had clearly defined their tasks. Ruan Chen sat cross-legged on the floor, leaning lazily against the sofa to modify data. Song Cheng and Lin Fengzi's progress was hardly affected, and they continued working on the PPT from yesterday's progress.

Bai Jiaojiao and Mu Xiangrong also started writing their speeches according to the original plan.

Time passed by midnight before we knew it, and the hotel staff brought over a food cart.

The conference room was filled with the aroma of food.

The group, engrossed in their work, suddenly looked up, rubbing their rumbling stomachs, and asked, "Who ordered the food?"

"They even have ice cream!"

"Wow, that's so luxurious!"

"Team leader, is this what you ordered?"

Lin Fengzi stood up and glanced at it. "Was this delivered to the wrong place? If someone ordered this ridiculously extravagant lunch for me, I'd call them 'Dad' ten times over."

Ruan Chen silently raised her hand, "Me."

Lin Fengzi's face twitched.

Ruan Chen hesitated for a moment, then asked cautiously, "How about you call me Mom? Godmother is fine too, and I'll call you Auntie and Sister from now on."

The group of people started eating, laughing and joking. Ruan Chen scooped out two scoops of pistachio ice cream and handed them to Ruan Yu'er.

Lin Fengzi complained that the meeting room wasn't well-ventilated, so she opened the door during lunch. Coincidentally, Ruan Yunhan arrived just a few minutes after Ruan Chen left.

"Team Leader Lin, are you having lunch? How's the progress? The finals are in three days."

She came to test her results.

Lin Fengzi was too lazy to continue the act with her, so she tagged Ruan Chen in the group chat, telling her not to rush back, and then replied to Ruan Yunhan's question, "Miss Ruan should be very clear about our progress."

Ruan Yunhan still smiled and said, "Brother Lin, how would I know about your progress?"

Lin Fengzi's tone was neither angry nor annoyed, "Just say it. You destroyed our data. What do you want? Don't worry, there are no recording devices here, and the surveillance cameras didn't capture anything. Speak freely."

Seeing that Lin Fengzi had made his point clear, Ruan Yunhan smiled slightly, walked closer, and looked down at Lin Fengzi, "Brother Lin, actually, the first thing I said to you on the first day we met already told you what I really wanted."

Lin Fengzi stood up with some disgust and distanced herself from her. "I told you, the person you're talking about isn't in our group."

“It’s not important,” Ruan Yunhan pressed on. “What’s going on now has nothing to do with that person. I just hope Brother Lin can withdraw. As long as you promise me, we’ll split the fifty million equally.”

She glanced at the table. "It looks like you're trying to recover the data from scratch. We both know it's too late."

"Instead of bringing a doomed piece to the stage, it's better to cut your losses and tell the organizing committee that you're withdrawing."
