If Young Master Fu had a slightly longer brain, he would have realized that it was actually a looping GIF.
After watching the surveillance footage, Fu Chengyu gestured for Ruan Chen to come over and explain how those data were calculated.
Ruan Chen felt a vein throb on his forehead. Even the most respected professors at the research institute wouldn't treat Ruan Chen like a servant; at the very least, they would communicate on equal footing.
She made up a few casual remarks to fool Fu Chengyu.
After closing the dusty book, Ruan Chen and Fu Chengyu said goodbye and left.
"Chen...Ruan Chen," Fu Chengyu looked at her back and suddenly felt a strange flutter in his heart, but in the end he didn't call her by that overly intimate name, and called her by her full name instead, "Isn't there an academic lecture in your hospital next week?"
“Yes,” Ruan Chen said.
"Would it be convenient for me to come along?"
Fu Chengyu had no idea what lectures were scheduled at the First Affiliated Hospital next week; he was just guessing, since there were plenty of lectures at the hospital anyway.
A strange light flickered in Ruan Chen's eyes. There were several academic lectures at the academy next week, but none of them were something that someone like Fu Chengyu could understand.
Fu Chengyu, presumptuously interpreting the strange look in Ruan Chen's eyes as admiration.
"It's convenient, but I don't know which one you'd like to hear?"
Fu Chengyu was speechless.
Ruan Chen thoughtfully covered up his embarrassment, "They're all academic lectures, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Which one are you interested in?"
"Ruan Chen, which one do you want to participate in?"
Ruan Chen guessed Fu Chengyu's intention, which was simply to expand the scope of the rumors. Currently, the rumors about Miss Ruan and the eldest son of the Fu family were limited to Fu Chengyu's circle, and Fu Chengyu felt that this was enough for the time being.
Now Fu Chengyu wants to get into Ruan Chen's circle and make an appearance in front of Ruan Chen's classmates.
"Then let's go with biology." Ruan Chen made the decision immediately. She was indeed very interested in this biology lecture, which was about the shortening of mitochondrial telomeres, a hot topic that has been around for thousands of years regarding human longevity.
Just then, Loranze suggested that Ruan Chen consider entering the biopharmaceutical industry, which is currently a weak point in Jingzhou and even the whole country, as the technology is monopolized by a few foreign giants.

Ruan Chen left Fu Chengyu's office and stopped by the tea room to get a cup of water.
Hot water, wisps of white steam rising from it, was slowly poured into a disposable paper cup. Ruan Chen stared blankly at the rising water level.
She had already implanted her program into Fu Chengyu's computer; it was just a matter of time.
Now she's thinking about how to deal with Fu Chengyu next, since from now on, Fu Chengyu has no secrets from her.
She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice the man who walked into the break room.
Then, a familiar scent wafted towards her, and a deep, resentful voice came from behind her, "Sister, do you really not want me anymore?"
Ruan Chen was so startled that she shuddered. Before her brain could even process who it was, her body instinctively turned around and splashed a large half-full cup of scalding hot water over.
The man's handsome face contorted for a moment, his expression spiraling out of control, and he gasped.
Steaming hot water slid down his neck, soaking his expensive, handcrafted custom-made suit.
Fu Jianzhi was in so much pain that her mind went blank.
What's worse is that his suits are all perfectly tailored; after a cup of hot water is poured on them, the soaked fabric clings tightly to his body.
When Fu Jianzhi's slender-waisted secretary arrived with the documents, she saw Fu Jianzhi's white shirt, soaked with water, clinging to his body. The fabric was almost transparent when wet, revealing the man's well-maintained physique from years of fitness and self-discipline.
Meanwhile, her beloved CEO Fu's suit jacket was being held by a woman standing next to Fu Jianzhi. Who else could that woman be but Ruan Chen?
The secretary, with her slender waist, then moved her gaze upwards along her boss Fu's captivating abs, only to find his neck completely red.
The slender-waisted secretary immediately imagined a dramatic scene unfolding in the office break room.
She glared at Ruan Chen with the same resentful look—she had just come out of Fu Chengyu's office and had already hooked up with the young CEO in the tea room, and even did such a shameless thing. Was this woman heartless or shameless?
Doesn't she know how hard it has been for CEO Fu all these years of waiting for her?
She, on the other hand, is a womanizer and promiscuous.
The slender-waisted secretary slammed the documents she was holding onto the table in the break room, her tone tinged with resentment, "Mr. Fu, these documents need to be signed off before noon. Please be mindful of the time—you have a meeting at 2 PM this afternoon, which means you won't have time for a lunch break. After all, you didn't go to sleep until almost 4 AM last night, and then you came here early this morning for a meeting."
She deliberately explained Fu Jianzhi's schedule for the past two days in great detail, right in front of Ruan Chen.
It was said to Ruan Chen.
As for the implied meaning, she didn't know how much that heartless woman, Ruan Chen, could understand.
Only after the secretary's high heels faded into the distance did Ruan Chen turn her attention back to Fu Jianzhi.
This wasn't the scene she had envisioned for their meeting. Although she hoped that the two of them would never cross paths again in this timeline, if they were to meet, it should be in a coffee shop or a bookstore—in short, a semi-open yet private space, accompanied by soothing and melodious music, to properly recount their grievances over the years.
“Sister, don’t take it to heart,” Fu Jianzhi said without hesitation, starting to unbutton her white shirt one button at a time. “She’s just a chatterbox, always nagging me, but she’s very capable at her job.”
He pressed the word "sister" against his tongue and uttered it in a soft, sticky, tender, and intimate way.
Ruan Chen nodded and coldly tossed Fu Jianzhi's suit jacket back at him. Fu Jianzhi, who was unbuttoning his jacket, hurriedly raised his hand, caught the jacket, and hugged it to his chest.
“I think the North District and the Group aren’t busy enough,” Ruan Chen said coldly, as if she were talking to a stranger. “It’s giving President Fu the leisure to play the victim here.”
Fu Jianzhi clutched his coat, unable to unbutton it any further. With a mournful face, he still tried to appease Ruan Chen, saying, "Sister, it really hurts. This is boiling water!"
He craned his neck to show Ruan Chen, "Sister, look, it's all red. It might get blisters later, so we need to rinse it with cold water right away."
"I'll call your secretary for you." Ruan Chen glanced at it indifferently—it was red.
But after splashing Fu Jianzhi, while Fu Jianzhi was unbuttoning his shirt, Ruan Chen quietly filled half a cup with water and poured it on her own hand. She could tell that it wasn't boiling water; it was about 70 degrees Celsius, which was a bit hot, but not hot enough to burn her.
That's how water dispensers are; usually, to make it easier to drink quickly, the temperature of one of the water outlets is set relatively low.
So Ruan Chen wasn't worried. Fu Jianzhi's redness looked serious, and it had indeed hurt a lot just now, but the redness would go down on its own after a while.
Ruan Chen walked outside, and Fu Jianzhi called out again, "Sister, you're just going to ignore me after you spilled it?"
Ruan Chen stopped, her tone somewhat stiff, "Fu Jianzhi, don't play the white moonlight trick on me, it's disgusting."
