Fu Jianzhi: Where did I get my white moonlight from?
Ruan Chen immediately regretted saying that; she shouldn't have brought it up.
Fu Jianzhi put down the suit he was holding, grabbed Ruan Chen's arm and pulled her to his side, immediately noticing the hint of regret in Ruan Chen's eyes.
He recalled what Yu Xiaoya had said that day: "Misunderstandings should be cleared up in time. Otherwise, avoiding each other will only deepen the rift between the two of you."
Fu Jianzhi was momentarily distracted, and when he called out Ruan Chen's name again, she was no longer in the tea room.
He frowned, took out his phone, pulled up his contacts, hesitated for a moment at the number labeled "sister," and then pressed the call button heavily.
Even though Fu Jianzhi has changed phones over the years, he has always had the habit of transferring phone information, so the call interface shows that this number has not been dialed for seven years.
In the few seconds that Fu Jianzhi stared at the number and hesitated, he thought about how to talk to Ruan Chen when he dialed the number, where to invite Ruan Chen to meet, and how to respond if Ruan Chen refused.
Amidst a jumble of thoughts, a clear, mechanical female voice came from the other end of the line, "Sorry, the number you dialed is out of service..."
Fu Jianzhi stood silently in the tea room for a moment, then dialed his secretary's number. "Help me check if there are any academic forums or lectures in the college next Monday, in the science and engineering fields... never mind, send me all types."
"Yes, including art-related activities, and then they'll be scheduled for next week."
"The matter in the North District..." Fu Jianzhi pondered for a moment, "I'll leave tonight and resolve the North District issue first, so as not to delay next week's arrangements."

First Military Academy, Advanced Biological Forum.
After learning about the forum, Ruan Chen searched for relevant information on the official website and sent an email to the speaker, asking some highly professional questions in the tone of a diligent student.
The next day, Ruan Chen received a reply, along with an invitation from the lecturer who expressed interest in the student who wrote the letter and hoped to meet him during the lecture.
She certainly wouldn't refuse. This professor was her carefully selected target—a Chinese man who went to Germany to pursue a medical doctorate and never returned. This was ostensibly a lecture, but in reality, it was also a platform for him to find potential investors in China.
Ruan Chen sent the electronic invitation to Fu Chengyu. After reading the information about the forum on the electronic invitation, Fu Chengyu replied to Ruan Chen that the Fu Group was currently looking for an opportunity to enter the pharmaceutical industry, and he seemed to have heard Fu Jianzhi mention this professor's name.
Ruan Chen didn't take it to heart. In the past few days, Fu Chengyu had hardly told her anything honestly.
The forum started five minutes later than scheduled. During those five minutes, Fu Chengyu watched as Ruan Chen moved from her position backstage to stand next to a professor.
Actually, with the curtain obscuring the view, Fu Chengyu couldn't see the identities of the two people inside, but he recognized the two pairs of shoes peeking out from under the curtain—one pair was the running shoes Ruan Chen had been wearing recently, and the other pair was the leather shoes the professor wore when he was sitting at the Fu Group to solicit investment.
It seems Ruan Chen is really capable. Fu Chengyu subconsciously started to think about it. This was an unexpected gain. At first, he thought Ruan Chen was a basic physics major and that he was just joining in the fun at this lecture. He also just wanted to take this opportunity to see Ruan Chen's circle of friends.
But now it seems that she has managed to get in touch with Professor Chen, a renowned medical doctor from country D, and perhaps I can make use of him.
I heard from Fu Jianzhi's confidant yesterday that Fu Jianzhi was very interested in this professor's research project. Not only that, the two of them were also discussing jointly building a laboratory.
Ruan Chen hurriedly sat down, and Fu Chengyu probed, seemingly casually, "Why are you late?"
"Have a chat with a professor about the latest development trends in the industry."
Ruan Chen's answer confirmed Fu Chengyu's idea that Ruan Chen had made contact with that Professor Chen.
After the meeting ended, Ruan Chen told Fu Chengyu to leave first, as she had other things to do.
"You promised to show me around campus," Fu Chengyu complained, seemingly with a hint of dissatisfaction. "Consider it repayment for taking you on a tour of our Fu Group's laboratories these past few days. Why are you suddenly backing out? Miss Ruan, isn't this inappropriate?"
Ruan Chen seemed genuinely ashamed. After a moment's thought, she said, "Why don't you go to the library and sit for a while? I'll come find you later, and then we can go eat, okay?"
She made all the arrangements with great seriousness.
Fu Chengyu agreed as expected and urged Ruan Chen to hurry up.
But as soon as Ruan Chen walked toward the backstage curtain, Fu Chengyu followed right behind her.
He didn't rush to lift the curtain and go in, carefully concealing himself. Due to the distance, he couldn't hear what Ruan Chen and Professor Chen were saying.
He waited until the two men raised their voices in farewell before lifting the curtain and entering.
He met Ruan Chen's eyes, which looked somewhat displeased that the intruder had disrupted the atmosphere.
Fu Chengyu offered a completely insincere apology, followed by his pre-prepared explanation: "I noticed you were late, and the security guard at the entrance said you went backstage. I thought there would be no one backstage after the forum ended, and I was worried you might be in danger, so I came to find you."
Before Ruan Chen could speak, Professor Chen smiled gently and said, "Ruan Chen, is this your friend? It seems like he has something urgent to attend to. Go ahead, we can continue to discuss this via email later."
Ruan Chen bowed slightly, and Fu Chengyu offered his arm. The conditioned reflexes she had developed over the past few days made Ruan Chen naturally take the arm.
This scene came to Professor Chen's attention.
The two walked towards the exit, and Ruan Chen complained in a low voice, "Do you know Professor Chen's status? You were being incredibly rude. I hope Professor Chen won't hold a grudge against me because of this."
Fu Chengyu remained silent.
Ruan Chen looked up and saw Fu Jianzhi standing at the exit.
"Is Professor Chen inside? I had an appointment with him today to discuss some things at the First Affiliated Hospital."
He said this, but his eyes were fixed on Ruan Chen and Fu Chengyu.
