Chapter 138 The Fool's Bride for Good Luck (13)
Shen Gaoyang stayed at the Lu residence for lunch and planned to stay for dinner as well, to help his mentally challenged cousin take care of his lonely wife.
During their afternoon chat, Xie Rong listened to Shen Gaoyang recount many events that had occurred on the front lines over the past few months.
The neighboring town of Mok is currently locked in a fierce battle with the foreigners, with each side experiencing victories and defeats.
Shen Gaoyang took the lead in these battles, displaying bravery no less than that of Lu Chuan in the past, and his military rank rose steadily.
“Then I must call you Major General Shen,” Xie Rong said, leaning against the chaise lounge. Shen Gaoyang sat beside him, fanning him.
“I don’t like hearing my cousin-in-law call me so formally,” Shen Gaoyang glanced sideways at the fool squatting under the orange tree watching the ants, leaned close to Xie Rong’s face, and gently brushed the tip of his nose against Xie Rong’s sideburns. He couldn’t help but take a deep breath and said shamelessly, “My mother and uncle were close when they were young. The Lu and Chen families are like one family, so it’s only natural that I should take care of you for my cousin. My cousin’s wife is my wife. That’s not being distant.”
Xie Rong burst into laughter, her thin shoulders trembling in the man's arms, tears welling up in her eyes, her upturned eyes shining unbelievably.
Shen Gaoyang then curled his lips into a smile and lowered his voice, "Leave the door open for me tonight, hmm?"
Xie Rong followed his gaze, glanced at Lu Chuan, wrapped her arms around the man's neck, and gently exhaled a fragrant breath, "Then you should get lost. I only leave the door open for my dog."
Shen Gaoyang was filled with doubt.
When did the Lu family get a dog? How come he didn't see it?
Shen Gaoyang would not leave. He felt that Xie Rong was just saying that. After all, how could his cousin-in-law, who was having affairs everywhere, bear to keep him, the most handsome and powerful man, out?
That night, Shen Gaoyang took a shower, got a haircut, bought a bottle of expensive perfume, sprayed it on himself, looked at himself in the mirror again and again, and after confirming that the man in the mirror was just as handsome as Lu Chuan, he confidently climbed over the courtyard wall and stopped in front of Xie Rong's door.
I pushed it, but it wouldn't budge.
I pushed again, but it still didn't budge.
Xie Rong locked the door from the inside!
Shen Gaoyang almost cursed out loud. He paced around twice before climbing out the window.
The windows were also tightly shut!
Shen Gaoyang gently knocked on the window, "Asleep?"
There were no lights on in the room, and no response.
Shen Gaoyang sat by the door, looking up at the moon.
It suddenly started raining in the middle of the night. Shen Gaoyang was furious. He went to the door of the west wing, kicked it, and climbed over the wall to leave.
He knew the way back to the Lu residence very well; he could walk there with his eyes closed. But just as he was passing Xie Rong's fishpond, several dark figures suddenly appeared and tied him up.
If it were to come openly, even if dozens of thugs came, Shen Gaoyang was confident he could escape unscathed.
But the leader of the ambush was incredibly ruthless, no less so than him, and probably had some experience in the military.
In the darkness, you can't see anyone's face.
A large hand grabbed the back of his collar and shoved his head into the fishpond where someone had just died, repeating this dozens of times.
...
Xie Rong got up very early the next day.
"Host, weren't you looking for your lover? Why didn't you leave the door open last night?" the system asked shyly, blushing.
Xie Rong lay on her side on the bed, a soft pillow between her legs. Her voice was softer than the pillow, and her legs were whiter than the white pillowcase. "I want to see if his life is tough enough."
The system seemed to understand, but not quite. It produced a small handkerchief and wiped the fine sweat from his forehead. [Host, you don't seem to be feeling well.]
Xie Rong opened his eyes a crack and took a breath.
Indulging in sensual pleasures can greatly numb the pain brought on by hatred, and Xie Rong has become hopelessly addicted to this feeling.
Especially since the person he's entangled with is the one he hates the most.
Xie Rong had never tasted anyone else's work before, and even regretted teasing Shen Gaoyang yesterday by not leaving the door open.
"Madam, breakfast is ready," the maid knocked on the door.
Xie Rong lazily propped himself up and said, "Have him bring it in for me."
In this courtyard, he thinks of no one but their mentally challenged Mr. Lu.
The servant responded, and soon the simpleton came in carrying Xie Rong's favorite seafood porridge.
"Wife, breakfast is ready," the fool said, squatting by the bed and staring at him.
Xie Rong has a small appetite, especially since he has no appetite at all right now.
He drank about half a bowl, and after his soft belly felt full, he stuffed the leftover bowl of porridge into the fool's hand and said matter-of-factly, "Here, your breakfast."
The fool obediently drank the rest of his porridge.
Xie Rong leaned closer and asked with a smile, "Are you an idiot? You only deserve to drink what I leave behind."
The fool nodded, "I'll drink what my wife leaves behind."
Xie Rong raised her hand, her soft fingertips pressing on the fool's strong, broad shoulders, gently stroking downwards.
The pain level hasn't changed at all.
No matter how much he beat and scolded the idiot, he remained motionless.
That's true. This bastard probably thinks he's so smart now, playing the fool and making everyone run around in circles. How could he possibly be in pain!
Only by completely trampling, humiliating, and destroying his dignity as a man can one feel the same pain as him.
Xie Rong lifted the slit in her skirt and said to the fool, "Kneel down."
The fool didn't know what he was going to do, but he still obediently did as he was told.
"Today I'll teach you, you fool, how to serve your wife. Bow your head," Xie Rong said condescendingly.
The fool stared intently at him and asked, "Wife, is this a new game?"
Xie Rong sneered inwardly, thinking, "Let's see how long you can keep up this act." He said calmly, "If that's what you want to think, then so be it."
Xie Rong's favorite thing... was... his nose.
It stands tall and steep like a small mountain, allowing him to..., thus letting...
The same is true today.
As lunchtime approached, the maid glanced at the tightly closed door and couldn't help but wonder.
Water droplets dripped from Lu Chuan's nose. The person on the bed had already disheveled his long black hair, and the names of his lovers who had failed in their adultery were coming out of his mouth one by one. His ankles were also trembling.
However… he was like this overnight.
"Does my wife want lunch?" the fool asked in a muffled voice.
Xie Rong's unfocused eyes gradually focused, and she glanced at him sideways.
Are you hungry?
The fool said stupidly, "I'm playing games with my wife, I'm not hungry."
Seeing his feigned ignorance, Xie Rong burst into another fit of maniacal laughter.
Sure enough, men are invincible when they act like bastards. He wanted to see how long this bastard would keep up the act and how long he would endure it.
Xie Rong lifted her foot and stepped on his Adam's apple, her small, round toes... "Then you won't be eating today, just...!"
The two lingered until the afternoon before finally emerging from the house.
Xie Rong, of course, still needed to eat.
During the meal, Zhao Tongguang returned from outside and reported to his wife on the harvest of the Lu family's several fields and shops. His indifferent gaze swept over his wife's still lustful eyes.
Xie Rong seemed to suddenly remember something, "Isn't my cousin supposed to be staying as a guest these days? Let's invite him over for lunch."
