Chapter 139 The Fool's Bride for Good Luck 14
The servant who went to fetch Shen Gaoyang returned quickly, panting.
"Madam, Major General Shen said he is ill and has not been going out to see anyone for the past few days."
"What's wrong with him?" Xie Rong raised an eyebrow.
"They said it's a cold that's contagious, so they've locked the doors from the inside," the maid said.
Xie Rong glanced at Zhao Tongguang and said, "Go and call Zhao Wenhong to treat his illness."
Zhao Tongguang was always like a block of wood; whatever he said, he would agree to.
But when Zhao Wenhong arrived, she couldn't open Shen Gaoyang's door.
Xie Rong's patience ran out.
They even called him a man of guts, but he's nothing special.
"Let him be."
The servants, having received his orders, stopped paying attention to the young master.
Three days later, Shen Gaoyang seemed to have recovered from his illness and casually climbed into the courtyard, holding a bunch of roses covered in dew.
Xie Rong took the bouquet of roses, threw it in his face, and said coldly, "If you keep imitating those foreigners, get out of here."
Later, Shen Gaoyang discovered that Xie Rong didn't dislike the way foreigners behaved at all, but rather the shabby way foreigners behaved.
The next day, Shen Gaoyang replaced the roses with gold ones, and Xie Rong accepted the flowers and even invited him to stay for dinner.
After dinner, Shen Gaoyang didn't want to leave.
The sound of running water could be heard inside the room; Xie Rong was taking a bath.
Shen Gaoyang sat in the courtyard, next to the fool who was digging an ant hole.
Shen Gaoyang stomped on the ant hole, crushing it. "Cousin, have you gone mad and don't recognize me anymore?"
Lu Chuan looked up at him.
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t recognize her,” Shen Gaoyang grinned. “From now on, we’ll be family. I’ll take care of your cousin’s wife for you. Don’t be angry. After all, you’re just a fool. He’s suffered too much following you. I can’t let him run off with some other man and leave you behind. I have no other choice.”
Shen Gaoyang got excited talking about himself.
Lu Chuan lowered his eyes and remained silent.
Seeing that it was almost time, Shen Gaoyang turned around and pushed open the door to enter the house.
The bathtub had already been carried away by the servants, and the remaining steam cast a hazy glow in the candlelight.
Shen Gaoyang unconsciously slowed his pace and walked closer to the bed.
Following his gloomy gaze, one could see Xie Rong sitting on the edge of the bed, wearing a warm white silk robe, his hands sweeping his wet hair to one side and wiping it with a towel.
"Why didn't you send a servant?" Shen Gaoyang asked, only to realize his voice was hoarse.
A few strands of wet hair clung to Xie Rong's pale cheeks, then were tucked behind his ear by his jade-like fingertips. "Didn't you come?"
After Xie Rong finished speaking, he lifted his eyelids and glanced at him.
Shen Gaoyang cursed him inwardly as a vixen, took three steps in one, went over, snatched the towel from his hand, and dried his hair.
“It smells so good,” Shen Gaoyang said, staring at him.
Xie Rong said coldly, "I use the most expensive shampoo, of course it smells good."
“It’s not the scent of shampoo,” Shen Gaoyang said, lifting a strand of his long hair and kissing it. “Your hair smells better than shampoo.”
Hair fragrance is actually just a tiny, insignificant hook.
The person on the bed had skin as white as snow, and her heterochromatic eyes seemed to have been moistened with water, clear and transparent. She was seducing men, yet her eyes were innocent and naive, which was deadly.
“Oh,” Xie Rong blinked, “my husband is still outside.”
"Are you really willing to spend your whole life with a fool?" Shen Gaoyang pinched his chin and scanned his face. "I don't mind that you have a husband, so why would he mind me taking care of you for him?"
Xie Rong sneered.
That's a despicable man too.
Xie Rong smiled at him, a slight upturn to his lips.
Like a slut who needs to be fucked.
Shen Gaoyang threw away the towel, grabbed the back of his neck, and the two of them fell onto the bed together.
The shopkeeper he had longed for for four years during his school days was lying beneath him. The right hand that had once grabbed the abacus and smashed him was now soft and boneless, clinging to his shoulder. Even death would be worth it.
Shen Gaoyang forcefully intertwined his five fingers with Xie Rong's, their fingers interlocking. He lowered his head and kissed the back of Xie Rong's hand. "I love this hand of yours the most. Whenever I see you using the abacus, I want to taste it."
Xie Rong has always been willing to grant the wishes of any man who wants to act shamelessly.
He slapped Shen Gaoyang across the face decisively, saying, "Now you've tasted it."
Shen Gaoyang chuckled softly, grabbed his chin, and lowered his head to kiss him.
Xie Rong's back was very thin, and through his robe, his rough fingertips could clearly feel the shape of each vertebra, and the curve downwards along the spine was even more astonishing.
Shen Gaoyang is truly going to die because of him.
Xie Rong's cheeks flushed with desire, her eyes glazed over, and she gradually lost sight of who the man in front of her was, unconsciously gripping his waist.
He could feel the man groping for the bow tied behind his waist, but he couldn't bring himself to untie it.
Just before Xie Rong's patience ran out, the man finally gave a strong tug—
Pfft—
Xie Rong's robe collar came undone, and warm blood splattered onto his fair chest.
As the initial infatuation faded, Xie Rong's gaze slowly focused on the long sword piercing through the man's waist and abdomen.
Then he looked up, glancing over Shen Gaoyang's shoulder, and finally saw the master holding the knife.
Pfft.
The long sword was suddenly drawn, and Shen Gaoyang fell on top of him, his life hanging in the balance.
"Carry him away," Lu Chuan said.
Two stern-faced soldiers walked in, and without looking at Xie Rong, they lifted the man off Xie Rong and dragged him away.
[Congratulations, host! The protagonist's current pain level is 90.]
Xie Rong has no time to deal with the system right now.
The man flipped the blood-stained longsword in his hand, rubbed the back of the blade against his cheek, and then suddenly lifted his chin with force.
"My wife, is this your new game?" Lu Chuan looked him down, his face still stained with another man's blood.
Xie Rong squinted at the man in front of him and chuckled, "Yes, it's all your fault for hurting him. He hasn't had enough fun yet."
Lu Chuan didn't speak. The back of the knife went down his slender neck, pried open the collar of his half-exposed bathrobe, and gently rubbed that spot back and forth with a little force.
Xie Rong felt no shame whatsoever, calling out softly, his soul beginning to tremble.
It's so lifelike, this is the most lifelike bastard dog I've ever seen.
Killing this wretched dog will lessen most of his hatred! He'll finally get his revenge!
Xie Rong reached under the pillow with one hand, his fingertips already touching the hilt of the dagger.
Lu Chuan suddenly dropped the knife in his hand, and his iron-like hand grabbed his wrist. "What are you looking for?"
Xie Rong laughed, "Of course, I'll find something good that can kill you."
"If you die, I can become a widow."
Lu Chuan pulled him into his arms, his face composed, but the jealousy and hatred in his dark eyes betrayed him. "If I die, who can satisfy you? Shen Gaoyang?"
"Not necessarily," Xie Rong blinked innocently, but said with malice, "Anyone will do, as long as they can cheat on you and crush your dignity as a man, I'll be happy."
Lu Chuan lowered his head and kissed her deeply, then casually pulled off the drawstring of the bed curtains.
The bed curtains were drawn, concealing the red waves covering the bed.
