Chapter 35 Gain

Chapter 35 Gain

Gain: Describes the ability of a circuit or device to amplify a signal.

The weather was fine, so even with the curtains drawn, it wasn't completely dark. The hazy light shines through my eyelids, soft and dreamy, just like this kiss.

In a trance, Meng Chu could feel the strength of the hands on his waist. As the kiss deepened, they tightened little by little, and suddenly lifted him up and carried him to the dining table.

He uttered an inarticulate cry of surprise, and in panic, he placed his hands on the table, the edge of which pressed against his palms, which were icy cold.

The wand drew an arc in the air with this movement, and with a rustle, the curtains opened and brilliant sunlight shone in.

Meng Chu subconsciously avoided the glaring light and interrupted the kiss.

The two of them bathed in the scorching afternoon sun and stared at each other for a while. Meng Chu said, "The evocative action needs to be designed to be more complicated."

Fu Guanshan stared at his lips, thought for a moment, and stood up. "Just in time," he said lazily, "We still have a long day ahead of us. It would be a shame to end it like this."

Meng Chu seemed to understand the implication in the words, his eyes dodged, and his expression was a little embarrassed: "Then...how do you want to live?"

"Let's go somewhere to have fun," Fu Guanshan said. "How about an amusement park?"

Meng Chu frowned, as if he didn't understand Chinese.

"What's wrong?" Fu Guanshan glanced at him, "Do you think it's childish?"

Meng Chu pondered for a moment, feeling that his previous reaction was unnecessary, and nodded to himself. "It may be childish for a kid," he said, "but it's just right for you."

Fu Guanshan pinched his face and said happily: "You are very venomous now."

Because it was midweek and there weren't many people around, Fu Guanshan still wrapped himself up tightly.

This did not prevent him from riding the Flying Coffee Cup or the carousel, but it prevented him from eating ice cream and marshmallows.

Even so, his interest in sightseeing remained unabated. He took pictures of Meng Chu riding the little green horse and even stopped at a souvenir shop to buy a pair of light-up headbands.

"Look," he pinched the bunny ears on Meng Chu's head, "how cute."

Meng Chu resisted in vain, and at this moment he envied the mask on Fu Guanshan's face: "This is sold for children."

“It’s just right for me.”

"Does this match your aesthetic?" Meng Chu asked doubtfully, "Does it match your top?"

"What's the point of matching clothes?" Fu Guanshan scoffed at the concept. "As long as they match you, it's fine."

Meng Chu looked at him and suspected that something had possessed this guy when he entered the haunted house just now.

They wore couple headbands - although rabbits and foxes are reproductively isolated, who cares? The CP fans of Zootopia didn't consider this - and they tried many mild projects. As for the more exciting ones, Meng Chu decided to stop at the pirate ship.

When he swung down, the feeling of weightlessness for two seconds was enough to make him scratch Fu Guanshan's wrist blue. It was hard to imagine what the bungee jumping machine and the suspended roller coaster would bring.

"Then we have fewer options," Fu Guanshan looked around and took his hand, "Go over there."

Meng Chu saw a string of stalls, some selling balloons, rings, and goldfish. The prizes ranged from living things to dolls.

"Ten guns for 20 yuan, 25 guns for 40 yuan, and 30 guns for 50 yuan," said the owner.

Meng Chu was still comparing the single price, but Fu Guanshan had already scanned the code: "I want the 50 yuan one."

He handed the gun to Meng Chu, who said, "You shoot first."

"Am I not bullying others?" Fu Guanshan said, "Give the store owner some leeway."

Meng Chu was skeptical, but still took it: "You told me to play earlier. Just shoot ten shots to experience it. No need to buy so much."

Fu Guanshan glared at him: "Although your salary is not high, you don't have to worry so much about 30 yuan."

Meng Chu took it and did not refute. Just like when he was doing housework, even if he could buy 300 or 3,000 guns now, when he heard the price, he would still reflexively want to choose the lowest price, as if he couldn't afford even a little bit of waste.

"Hit whatever you want." Fu Guanshan waved his sleeves with such confidence, as if he wanted to shoot down not a balloon but a spaceship.

Meng Chu pulled the trigger, but missed. He adjusted his posture according to the angle of deviation just now, and this time it was more accurate.

After twenty shots, he got a small doll.

"Give it to me," Fu Guanshan said, "I'll get my money back."

Meng Chu held the little doll and watched him raise the gun seriously.

After ten gunshots, all the small balloons at the top were destroyed.

"When I was a kid, I made this every day and became a skilled worker," Fu Guanshan said. "My boss put my picture on the wall and told the vendors to ban me."

There were too many prizes, so he only kept the one that Meng Chu had won, and gave the rest to the children watching nearby.

"Look," Fu Guanshan held up the little carrot, "it's a perfect match with your ears."

The children received the dolls and said thank you. Fu Guanshan said you’re welcome. Then the parents said thank you again. Fu Guanshan said you’re welcome. Then the parents asked, “Are you Fu Guanshan?”

"no."

The parent smiled politely and turned away, still observing him out of the corner of his eye.

Fu Guanshan took two steps and suddenly heard a whisper behind him: "That person seems to be Fu Guanshan."

He turned his head and saw with pain that a crowd had gathered. Suddenly, Meng Chu grabbed his hand and ran forward.

He froze for a moment, clenched his hands, and followed him through the crowd.

Ahead, the Ferris wheel slowly turns in the sunset.

Meng Chu dragged him in one breath and ran into the cabin dressed up as a carriage.

The hatch closed, and they were the only two people left in the world.

Fu Guanshan looked at Meng Chu, who stretched his neck to observe the pursuers, and suddenly laughed.

He felt a sense of accomplishment in dragging the professor down to the kindergarten level.

Meng Chu's attention was drawn back to the laughter, and he smiled at a loss. He didn't understand what was so funny, but Fu Guanshan's facial nerves seemed to be connected with his.

"Next time," Meng Chu was still a little out of breath, "I'll make you a mask with a voice changer."

"It's very suspicious to talk to a child with a voice changer."

Meng Chu lowered his head and smiled again, then took out a cold paper box from his bag. "I bought it when you gave me the doll," he handed it to Fu Guanshan, "it's melting fast."

Fu Guanshan looked at the Disney co-branded ice cream in his hand, took off his mask, and sighed: "Finally, I can eat it."

Meng Chu watched the other party cruelly bite off Mickey's ear. The setting sun shone through the glass. At this moment, the world fell into the tranquility he liked.

Then he said, "Thank you."

Fu Guanshan raised his head, with the remnant of Mickey's smile still in his hand: "What?"

"I know you wanted to take me on a spring outing," a spring outing he had never been on as a child, "thank you, I had a lot of fun."

Fu Guanshan was stunned for a moment, then showed an expression of "it's just a trivial matter". "I haven't been to the amusement park in a long time. You know, it's too famous. It's not good to come to such a crowded place."

Meng Chu knew that he was just looking for an excuse, an excuse to let a man who was almost thirty years old take a merry-go-round.

There are some things that, even if there is a chance to make up for them now, it is hard to bring ourselves to do so because we are past that age.

Besides, what he regretted was not that he didn't ride the colorful carousel, but the lack of the companion who was making a fuss, shouting and clamoring to take pictures.

"Thank you," he said, "It's your birthday, and you still come to fulfill my wish."

Fu Guanshan looked at him, stretched out his hand and tapped his forehead. "There's no need to be so serious about falling in love."

Because I was holding the ice cream, my fingertips were cold, leaving a clear touch on my skin. Meng Chu felt the coolness for a while before asking, "Are you serious?"

"Well," Fu Guanshan said, "I just did what I should do. You don't need to be so touched or feel burdened. The same goes for birthdays. If there are special gifts, of course I like them. If not, just be casual and say happy birthday. I'll be happy too."

"Oh," Meng Chu said awkwardly, "I have some experience in serious relationships, and a lot of experience in being single, but I don't have any experience in casual relationships."

Fu Guanshan laughed at this sentence, thought about it, and shook his head. "I was wrong just now, don't take it to heart," he said, "That's one of the reasons why I like you."

Meng Chu's heart suddenly trembled. This was the first time Fu Guanshan directly talked about what he liked about him.

"Shouldn't you tell me something from the heart on your birthday?" Fu Guanshan looked at him with a smile, "I like it when you listen carefully to my entertainment gossip, I like your dazed look after we kiss, and I also like it when you open your eyes wide after eating the food I cooked."

The Ferris wheel rose to its highest point, and the sun gradually sank. Meng Chu's face was flushed by the afterglow: "Oh... then... is there anything about me that you don't like?"

"I like it everywhere."

"What about when you start using scientific jargon when you speak?"

“Those are my favorite times.”

Meng Chu looked at him in surprise, with doubt in his eyes.

"When you talk about science, you are so confident and calm," Fu Guanshan said. "It's like you are standing at the center of the stage, shining brightly."

Although he tried his best, he could only understand fragments of the words, and although he was always annoyed by the terminology that ruined the atmosphere - whether the interruption was intentional or simply out of professional habit - Meng Chu was most charming when he touched on science.

He fiddled with the tiny circuits that could not be seen even with a microscope, as if this was the kingdom under his feet and the thumb-sized wafers were his subjects.

He is so powerful and charming standing in his field.

Meng Chu was stunned. The lights of the Ferris wheel were flashing and sparkling in his eyes. After a long while, he finally said, "Thank you... for your birthday... why are you praising me so much?"

Fu Guanshan looked at his gradually darkening face, crossed his legs, and acted like a dandy boy. "Oh, you know it's my birthday, so just say thank you and that's it?"

Meng Chu was stunned: "Then..."

"I've said so many sweet words to you, tell me a few too."

Meng Chu blinked.

"I have to remind you that I have acted in countless romantic films, and ordinary love words cannot move me," Fu Guanshan said critically, "Think about it carefully."

Meng Chu raised his head and looked at him with that frightening gaze again.

Fu Guanshan's heart tightened, and then he became angry again. "Don't just look at me like that," he approached him, "Don't you have anything to say to me?"

Of course, Meng Chu thought, there are a lot.

For example, every time I see you, my body feels like it's being torn in two. Half of me wants to rush up and hug you tightly, and half of me just dares to stand there and watch you from afar; half of me thinks, don't come close to me, if you don't come close, I can pretend to be indifferent and turn around and leave, but half of me is looking forward to you coming to me; half of me feels a powerful force surging in my heart, as if I can do anything, but half of me feels small and fragile, because part of me is made of glass, and I'm afraid that one day I will accidentally fall and let the fragments cut you.

Then he said, "I love you."

The sunlight gradually faded, and the city lights in the distance lit up one by one.

Fu Guanshan seemed to be frozen, staring at him quietly.

Just like now, just by being looked at like this, he could feel the glass fragments rattling in his body.

Then, the other person suddenly moved forward and kissed him.

The noise stopped. The world has never been so quiet.

Twenty years ago, he would never have imagined that one day he would long for another person's warmth so much, and his kiss would be a question he was willing to spend his whole life answering.

Suddenly, the cabin shook and the door opened.

Fu Guanshan put on a mask, grabbed his hand, and ran away amid the staff's suspicious gazes.

There was a hotel inside the amusement park, and they ran there in one breath. While sitting in the elevator, Meng Chu thought of the couple who seemed to be oblivious to the people around them. He understood them somewhat, because when you were with the one you loved, light and gravity seemed to bend. For example, now, he was looking at Fu Guanshan, and it seemed as if all the light in the world was focused on him, allowing him to see the texture of every inch of his skin and the movement of his muscles with every breath. It was as if the other party had cast some kind of magic on him, making everything clearer when he looked at him.

Fu Guanshan pulled him into the room, pushed him onto the bed, unbuttoned his collar, and skillfully pulled his shirt off his head. When she came to take off his clothes, her movements paused for a moment, as if she was asking for his consent.

It took him two seconds to nod, not because he was afraid of the pain, but because a sense of worry surged in his heart when he saw the perfect body in front of him. He was afraid that he was too pale and too thin, so he revealed himself to the other person inch by inch, and as he looked at the other person's body, he became more aware of his own body than ever before.

However, this process was fleeting, because soon, the other person's skin was tightly pressed against his, a throbbing exploded from his chest, his heart began to numb, and it almost made him breathless.

The person on him stopped moving, looked at him, and stopped saying those teasing words. He just lowered his head and kissed him all the way from the forehead.

He also wanted to say something at this moment, some inexplicable stupid words, such as, now he was glad that they were so different, these differences made them feel distant, but also made them work hard to eliminate the distance, this process of getting closer and closer was so difficult and so moving. Just like now, he melted into his body bit by bit, and in pain, the glass slowly melted and new flesh and blood grew.

The person on him stopped and asked him in a low voice if it hurt.

He looked at him without saying a word, but just stretched out his hand and hugged tightly the lover who was nothing like him but who shared the same fate with him.
