Peach turned her head. "What?"
Su Deng frowned, "Wait a minute!"
"What are we waiting for!" Momoko said, "With such a great thing happening, she's been banished, so you're definitely the number one candidate to become the shrine maiden!"
Su Deng: "..."
She felt it was better to shut Peach up now.
She took out a torch stick from the warehouse, the perfect size and thickness, and smashed it down on the back of her neck.
Peach's body went limp.
Su Deng helped her to the wall and looked up at the mountain.
Riki Tsunomiya, who was being hugged, seemed to be startled and quickly pushed the man away with all her might.
Yukito was stunned. "Second Palace?"
Riki Ninomiya stepped back, creating distance between them. "I am now a candidate for the Shrine Maiden of Wushan Shrine, and I will soon become the Shrine Maiden. Please don't come looking for me anymore."
"Riki Tsunomiya!"
Riki Tsunomiya, carrying Acha, turned to head down the mountain when the man behind her shouted at her retreating figure.
"I know you have no intention of becoming a priestess!"
He caught up with her. "I came here today to take you away, Rishi. Let's run away together!"
Riki Tsunomiya had her back to him; snowflakes fell into her hair and melted quickly, her bright red clothes standing out against the heavy snow.
"Snow Child." Riki Jinomiya's voice was still lighter than the wind. "If I escape, Ibaraki and the Jinomiya family will both perish."
"What does that have to do with you!" Xue Tong frowned.
Riki Tsunomiya was silent for a moment, then continued walking down the mountain with the cat in her arms. "You don't understand, and you never will."
Lights were lit in the garden, and a group of shrine maiden candidates ran out, marveling at the heavy snowfall that had fallen on this summer night.
Ninomiya Riki quickened her pace, and as she reached the corner, she saw Su Deng and Momo lying against the wall. A look of panic flashed across her face, but she quickly regained her composure. "You all saw it..."
Su Deng leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, smiling faintly: "I saw it."
“Me and him…” Riki Tsunomiya’s face turned pale. She wanted to explain, but she didn’t know how.
If the chief priest finds out about this, the Jinomiya family and Ibaraki will face certain death.
“I can die, and I can give up being a shrine maiden…” Riki Jinomiya’s grip on the cat tightened, her mouth opening and closing several times, “But the life and death of the Jinomiya family and Ibaraki Prefecture rest on my shoulders, you…”
“You don’t need to be afraid or worried,” Su Deng interrupted her with a faint smile. “I won’t go to Quan Gongsi to complain.”
"Then what do you want..." Riki Tsunomiya pursed her lips.
"I don't want anything." Su Deng shrugged, helped Taozi up, hoisted her onto her shoulder, and carried her into the garden. Her voice was indifferent. "If you really want to repay this kindness, then dance for me every day before the official selection of the shrine maiden begins."
"Meow~" Acha let out a soft cry, her blue eyes shining.
Riki Tsunomiya watched Su Deng's retreating figure with a complex expression.
Nasu Haruko was born on Kumo Island. She was chosen as a candidate for shrine maiden because of her beauty, and she is also a very good Kagura dancer.
Of all the candidates, these two are the most likely to become priestesses.
However, she was too aloof and not as likable as Su Chunzi, so all the other candidates disliked her and ostracized her.
Including Nasu Haruko.
Because the two of them are the biggest competitors.
If the shrine staff finds out about tonight's events, even if she really had nothing to do with that man, she will be considered impure and a traitor to the gods...
What awaits her is divine punishment.
Destruction and death awaited the Tsunomiya family and the Ibaraki clan.
It wasn't that Riki Tsunomiya didn't trust her, but rather that Riki didn't like herself either.
Although she didn't know why, Nasu Haruko seemed like a different person these past two days, and even came to watch her dance.
If Nasu Haruko tells Kōji about this, she can easily become a priestess...
But since it was her own fault, and she was discovered and reported, she had no right or reason to dissuade anyone.
Riki Tsunomiya stood in the snow, her face growing paler and paler.
"Meow~" Acha in my arms stretched out her front paw and touched her face.
*
It's summer now, and this sudden heavy snowfall at night has surprised everyone. Even the witch candidates are no longer sleepy and are playing in the snow outside most of the night.
It wasn't until the person in charge came over and gave them a good scolding that they hurriedly dispersed and went back to their rooms.
Su Deng helped Taozi in from outside, and they ran into Quan Gongsi.
She said coldly, "What have you three been doing so late?"
Three?
Su Deng paused slightly and subconsciously glanced back.
Riki Tsunomiya was behind him.
“We…” Su Deng looked at Tsunomiya Riki’s tense and pale expression, the corners of her lips slightly curved, and her tone was drawn out. She only spoke when Tsunomiya Riki’s fingers, which were holding the cat, turned white and she looked like she was having trouble breathing.
“We were practicing dancing on the back mountain, and Peach fell asleep and we couldn’t wake her up no matter what we did.”
Kōji looked at Tsuyomi Riki, "Is that so?"
Tsunomiya Riki glanced at Su Deng, lowered her head, and pursed her lips, "Yes."
Quan Gongsi doesn't trust Su Deng and Taozi, but he trusts Ci Gonglixi because of her personality; she would never do anything out of line, and she does indeed often dance in the back mountain.
"The snow tonight is strangely heavy. With the witch selection festival approaching, you should all go back to sleep and get up early for training tomorrow."
"yes."
The peach wasn't heavy, at least not for Su Deng right now. There were steps ahead, and it would be difficult to walk while holding on, so she simply carried her in a princess carry around her waist.
Riki Tsunomiya followed behind the two.
The courtyard was very large, and the candidates for witches lived in one large courtyard, each with their own room.
Riki Tsunomiya lived next door to Suden.
