Chapter 279 The Witch God Sacrifice (16) Is it protecting her?

The demon warriors were all burly, each as big as two Sudden lamps and over two meters tall.

The samurai sword in his hand was not crude; the swords clashed and sparks flew. The one with the most strength directly smashed Su Deng away.

Su Deng staggered back several steps. Acha wanted to rush over to help her, but it was no match for the two warriors. It looked around anxiously, found a room, and darted over.

Su Deng didn't care whether it had escaped or gone to find Tsuyomi Riki first. She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and continued to fight the Oni Warrior.

But when the sword struck the Oni Warrior, it clanged but did not cause any real damage. They were like invincible warriors, impossible to break.

Su Deng gritted her teeth and retreated, finding her way, then leaped up, slashing her sword at the Oni Warrior's head.

Click—bang—

Sparks flew everywhere, but the Oni Samurai remained completely unharmed.

Grass!

What the hell is this?

Forget about killing him, you can't even scratch him!

The two demon warriors relentlessly slashed at Su Deng with all their might, yet they were impervious to blades and spears. Su Deng could only dodge swiftly while observing their bodies to see if he could find any weaknesses.

When she finds a spot she likes, she will use her petite stature to dart forward and strike with her sword.

Even when Su Deng was exhausted and had tried everything on her body, the two demon warriors remained unharmed and relentlessly pursued and killed her.

Su Deng was stabbed in the arm, and blood stained her white sleeve.

This is simply a monster.

She frowned and turned to run out the door before the two demon warriors could strike her again.

If you can't beat them, run away.

She's not stupid; she wouldn't force herself on someone she can't beat.

But after she ran out the door, she found that the Oni Samurai had not chased after her. When she looked back, she saw them standing on either side of the door.

Su Deng's expression shifted slightly, and she took a few steps back.

The demon warrior remained motionless, as if frozen in place.

Su Deng cautiously approached the door, carefully lifted one foot, and stepped over the threshold. The moment she stepped in, before her foot even touched the ground, the Oni Samurai's hand holding the sword began to move.

Su Deng quickly withdrew her foot and retreated, and the Ghost Warrior's raised hand froze instantly.

...These two demon warriors cannot leave this house!

They will not attack as long as people are not inside the house.

But this room doesn't seem to have any other doors.

Su Deng frowned as she stood at the door, carefully studying the two demon warriors, when Acha darted out of the room, a bead that looked like a gemstone dangling from her mouth.

Su Deng didn't notice anything unusual. "What is this?"

"Meow meow—!" After meowing a few times, Acha picked up the bead again, darted into the room, jumped to a lamp niche in the main hall of the room, and spat the bead into it through the gap above.

Click—

After the bead went in, the lamp niche suddenly lit up with a soft sound, and all the other lamp niches in the room also lit up, the reflected light shining on the Oni Samurai.

"Meow meow!" Acha gestured for Su Deng to come in.

Su Deng hesitated for a moment before stepping into the room.

The Oni Samurai didn't move.

Are these two things controlled by government agencies?

Su Deng frowned and looked at the lamp niche that Acha had lit with beads. It was made of stone and wood, and there was nothing unusual about it.

"Meow!" Acha urged her to hurry up and follow her.

It couldn't speak, and could understand the simple meaning of meows, but Su Deng couldn't understand every sentence. Suppressing her doubts, she followed Acha. As she left the room, she paused slightly and looked back.

She always felt that someone was watching them in the dark.

That moment, in particular, was incredibly clear.

But behind him, there was no one but two demon warriors.

Could it be a ghost from Ghost Fog Village?

Su Deng's eyes were dark, but she snapped out of her daze and continued walking inside at Acha's urging.

After the man and the cat left, a black figure appeared indoors, with long, flowing dark green hair. Yan Sizhan's gaze swept over the two ghost warriors, and with a flick of his finger, dark green flames flew out, burning the two ghost warriors to ashes.

He sighed softly, took out a painted demon mask, put it on his face, and silently followed them inside.

*

This place is like a dilapidated shrine, or a courtyard, completely abandoned inside and out.

However, an oni warrior would occasionally appear inside, but these oni warriors were not as powerful as the two at the entrance, and Su Deng easily dealt with them until they reached the deepest part.

Acha stopped in front of a locked door, which Su Deng cleaved open with his sword.

The lights were on inside, and all the missing priestess candidates were here.

They were all bound hand and foot, seemingly unconscious, and no one was guarding them except for the demon warriors outside.

Do these demons really do kidnapping so casually?

Su Deng scanned the area but didn't see Tsunomiya Riki.

Acha paced anxiously in circles, meowing incessantly.

"She'll be alright." Su Deng patted its head, found Peach among the candidates, and tried to wake her up by pinching her philtrum and calling out to her.

"Hiss~" Peach opened her eyes, feeling sore all over. Seeing Su Deng and the surrounding environment, it took her a while to fully wake up. "Where am I? Why am I here?"

Su Deng: "...I also want to know why you're here."

Peach frowned: "I remember seeing a little ghost when I was sleeping, and then I lost consciousness."

When the other girls woke up, they gave her the exact same story.

What exactly are these people trying to achieve by kidnapping the priestess candidates?

After thinking for a moment, Su Deng said, "You should leave here first."

Peach grabbed her: "And you?"

“I…” Su Deng paused slightly, “I’m going to find Tsunomiya Riki.”

She now feels that all of this has something to do with Riki Ninomiya.

Peach didn't want her to go, "Tomorrow is the shrine maiden selection, the shrine goddess festival..."

“I can’t just ignore her,” Su Deng said in a deep voice. She had to figure out the mystery behind all of this.

She pointed out the route to Taozi, but she didn't care whether they could get out or not. She took Acha and changed direction, continuing to explore and search the area.

But after searching around, they still didn't find Riki Tsunomiya.

Returning to the main hall where they started, Su Deng paused slightly after discovering that the two unkillable demon warriors were gone, and that subtle feeling resurfaced.

"Meow!" Acha saw her sit down on the threshold and started meowing again.

Su Deng said weakly, "I told you she would be fine. We don't even know where she is. Shouting at the top of your lungs won't help."

Strangely enough, she's been in this village for so long, and apart from seeing a few demons when she first entered, she hasn't attracted a single other person despite her intense battle with the demon warriors.

Aside from those two demon warriors, their journey was virtually unimpeded.

Thinking of this, Su Deng suddenly recalled the dark green flame in the mist, and the feeling of being secretly watched before she went in...

Could it be that Yan Sizhan was secretly protecting her?

...But Yan Sizhan here doesn't know her, so how can he protect her?

But that dark green flame must belong to Yan Sizhan.

He won't come out when I call him.

Su Deng pinched the bridge of her nose, feeling somewhat annoyed.
