No matter how hot it is in summer, do not drink any iced drinks or take cold showers.
No matter what, you can't touch ice or cold water.
However, there is another rule: if someone offers you food, you cannot refuse and must pay ten gold coins in return.
Su Deng looked at the glass of water in front of her, thought for a moment, took out ten gold coins and handed them to the person in charge, saying with a faint smile, "Thank you for the cold drink, this is your tip. I won't drink the water, I haven't been feeling well lately."
The hotel manager glanced at her, his expression barely changing, and readily accepted the ten gold coins. He then carried the cold drink back to the wooden counter. "Would you like to stay for one night, sir?"
Su Deng took out another hundred gold coins, "Stay for one day first."
"Okay." The hotel manager immediately checked her in, and after that, he gave her the same instructions as before, and also gave her a copy of the Chaotic Season City Check-in Guidelines.
The hotel had no air conditioning or cooling system, yet it was cool and refreshing, completely shielding it from the scorching heat from the outside.
Looking at his undisputed number one ranking, Su Deng, who hadn't slept for a day and a night, yawned, went into his room, and lay down on the bed to sleep.
When I was half asleep, I heard voices.
"It's so cold..."
“Save me…”
"Help……"
The ghostly whispers carried an even colder, more sinister wind.
The rule says that if you hear people talking in a room during the day, open the window and keep quiet.
They didn't say I couldn't watch it.
Su Deng opened her eyes slightly and looked around the room. There wasn't a single person or monster in sight.
Su Deng paused for a moment, then got up, lifted the covers, and walked out of bed quietly without making a sound. She opened the window to let the scorching sun shine in before quietly lying back down to sleep.
As soon as I closed my eyes again, I heard screams coming from inside the room.
"So warm..."
"The sun... Ah!!"
When she opened her eyes again, she saw wisps of white smoke coming from the window.
That mysterious monster, I don't know if it went out or got sunburned to death.
After that, Su Deng didn't close the window and stayed quietly in the room, occasionally hearing footsteps in the corridor outside.
Every two minutes, a door was knocked on, and the same voice came from afar until it knocked on her door.
"Hello, sir/madam, would you like our food delivered?"
After that, nothing happened.
Su Deng didn't say anything, silently walked to the back of the door, turned sideways to look through the peephole, and saw that it was completely black.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she held her breath, pressing herself against the wall.
Luckily, she was experienced and didn't press her eye directly against the peephole; otherwise, she would have been staring at something outside that she didn't know if it was a person, a ghost, or a monster.
She stood quietly behind the door without making a sound, and the thing outside remained silent as well, its eyes pressed against the peephole without ever looking away.
About two minutes later, the peephole lit up, the people outside left, and footsteps moved toward the next room. Soon after, there was a knocking on the door of the next room.
"Hello, sir/madam, would you like our food delivered?"
"Ding-ling-ling..."
Just as Su Deng let out a sigh of relief, pondering whether to leave the hotel, the phone in her room suddenly rang again.
Su Deng actually wanted to answer the call. She was curious about what was making the call and what would happen if she answered.
But after staring at the phone for a while, she ultimately followed the hotel rules and didn't do something stupid out of boredom.
The phone rang for a while and then automatically hung up without attracting the attention of anyone outside.
At 5 p.m., the outside temperature was still quite high, but within a tolerable range.
After hearing no sound from the corridor, Su Deng left the room, but as soon as she stepped out, she came face to face with the hotel manager in the corridor.
Su Deng first looked at his chest, where there was a yellow medal!
What did the rules say again? If you see the person in charge wearing a yellow badge, don't talk to him and go back to your hotel room, quietly waiting until the next morning.
Su Deng held the access card in her hand and swiped it on the door behind her.
But the door didn't respond.
She swiped again, but there was still no response.
The hotel manager, wearing a yellow badge, smiled at her in the hallway. "Haven't you read the check-in rules, sir? The key card is for one-time use. Once you close it after leaving, it can't be opened again."
Su Deng: "..."
She received three copies of the check-in rules, read them all, and found that the contents of each one were exactly the same, with no such rule at all.
Since we can't get back to the hotel room, let's kill him!
A cold glint flashed in Su Deng's eyes, and a sword appeared in his hand. Without saying a word, he slashed at the hotel manager.
The hotel manager didn't move or dodge. His head was chopped off by Su Deng's sword. Hot blood splattered onto Su Deng's face, but the manager's body didn't fall. Instead, a new head grew from the bloody cut at the neck!
The head that fell to the ground rolled twice but didn't die; it was still twitching on the ground.
Bang—bang—bang—
Each jump left a blood-red mark, and the sound echoed throughout the corridor. The head's face wore an eerie smile.
"Sir, what are you doing?"
The newly grown head on the body opened its mouth together with the head on the ground, the two voices overlapping.
Su Deng stepped back and dashed into the mechanical elevator.
When the elevator reached the first floor and the doors opened, he rushed to the hotel entrance as fast as he could. The door wasn't locked, but he couldn't open it no matter what he did.
Just then, another voice came from behind.
"Sir, what's the matter that you're in such a hurry?"
