In the early morning, the sun slowly rises, radiating scorching heat and baking the earth.
Lin Ruo opened her eyes precisely at five o'clock in the morning, her body drenched in sweat. She turned to look at the thermometer next to her. The air conditioner was on in the room, and the temperature had reached 43 degrees Celsius.
Pulling back the heavy curtains that hadn't been changed yet, the intense sunlight rushed in, showering Lin Ruo's exposed skin. Feeling the temperature of the sunlight, she could tell that although the outside temperature wasn't as hot as at noon, it was still nearly sixty degrees Celsius, which was unbearable.
Lin Ruo drew the curtains again, blocking out the intense sunlight. She felt there was no need to change the curtains; the winter curtains could completely block out the sunlight. If she changed to the light summer style, the sunlight would only make the room hotter.
Lin Ruo quickly washed up and went to the training room to train her physical fitness. Wearing weights, she did physical training. After only an hour of training, Lin Ruo was sitting on the floor of the training room, panting heavily. Her face was flushed, and her clothes were soaked with sweat, which dripped onto the ground.
After just one hour of sweating, Lin Ruo felt extremely thirsty. She scooped out a cup of lake water from her spatial storage and drank it quickly. "This won't do. Training in this heat will put a lot of strain on my body."
With a thought, her body glowed with blue light, the sweat on her body quickly disappeared, and the heat subsided rapidly.
"It seems that I must use water-based abilities to regulate my body temperature during training."
She stood up and continued training. This time, Lin Ru trained for two more hours before sitting down to practice her supernatural abilities again.
The water-based ability had already helped Lin Ruo regulate her body temperature, and all the sweat on her body had disappeared. Only white sweat stains could be seen on her vest, which were the salt that came out when she sweated.
When Lin Ruo stood up, she took out a large cup of lake water from her space and sprinkled some salt into it. Her eyes flashed with a blue light, and the temperature of the water in the cup dropped. Small water droplets immediately appeared on the outside of the cup.
"Glug glug..."
Lin Ruo drank the salted lake water and felt as if all the pores on her body had opened up, feeling refreshed!
After just a few hours of training in the morning, Lin Ruo felt sticky all over, so she went straight into the bathroom to take a shower.
When she came out of the bathroom, completely dry, she turned to look at Afu and Ashou. Usually, they would be practicing with Aliu at this time, but now they were just lying listlessly next to the ice basin, sticking out their tongues.
Ah Liu was poking their bottoms with her willow branches to urge them on, but they wouldn't budge. When Ah Shou got annoyed, she bit Ah Liu's willow branches, and sharp spikes the length of daggers immediately appeared on the branches. Ah Shou had no choice but to give up and let Ah Liu slap her bottoms again and again.
It seems they still prefer extremely cold weather, even though she shaved their fur, they still don't seem to adapt well to such hot weather.
Lin Ruo went over and added water to their water basin. They had drunk a whole basin of water since last night.
To cool them down, Lin Ruo added some ice to the lake water, hoping it would make them feel better. Then she went out and poured a lot of lake water on A Liu as well.
The water disappeared quickly as soon as it was poured into A-Liu's tree pit. This was because A-Liu was rapidly storing water; if it didn't absorb the water quickly, the lake would dry up in just a few minutes.
Inside the fortress, Afu and Ashou drank the iced lake water before standing up, shaking their bodies. The hair on their heads and the muscles on their bodies swayed together, creating an indescribable comical effect.
Lin Ruo only stayed outside for a short while before her skin turned red from the sun. If the morning sun was this strong, she would definitely get sunburned and peel if she went out at noon.
A blue light flashed in her eyes as she activated her water-based superpower, instantly erasing the sunburn on her skin.
She returned to the fortress and began preparing breakfast for them, including meat and fruit.
Lin Ruo used his supernatural powers to freeze both the meat and the fruit, but Afu and Ashou ignored the meat and only ate the fruit in the bowl. Aliu was not picky and ate everything, whether it was meat or fruit. It was even happier if Lin Ruo gave it more.
Lin Ruo made herself some cold noodles for breakfast. She only ate a few bites before the noodles got hot. She forced herself to eat half of it before putting the noodles away, having no appetite.
She took out some strawberries from her spatial storage, washed them, and ate them one by one. Each time she picked one up, a layer of cold air rose from it before Lin Ruo ate it.
After eating another half bowl of strawberries, Lin Ruo stood up and stretched. It was only noon.
As the weather got hotter, the air conditioner at home finally stopped after running for another hour. Lin Ruo knew that the battery box connected to the air conditioner must have run out of power.
She stood up and replaced all the battery boxes in the house. Then she put all the replaced battery boxes into the space to charge them. The solar panels in the space could not meet the power demand, so Lin Ruo had already turned on the diesel generator.
Then I turned on the air conditioner in the fortress again. The air conditioner blew in a strong wind, dissipating some of the heat.
Actually, the temperature inside the fortress is about 20 degrees Celsius lower than outside. This place is on the shady side, so it doesn't receive much sunlight. In addition, with the willow branches of Ah Liu providing shade, the air conditioning is on inside the fortress, and there are ice basins prepared by Lin Ruo, the temperature is only 38 degrees Celsius.
After dinner, Lin Ruo thought of the abundant sunshine outside the fortress and gave up the idea of going out. She decided to replace the things in the house that needed replacing first.
Lin Ruo rummaged through the still space, trying to find a fabric that could be used as a door curtain. She ended up finding a heat-insulating curtain that she had picked up at a shopping mall.
