Ah Fu slowly placed the rice bowl on the ground, and his expression as he looked at Ah Shou was one of pure schadenfreude.
The scene was so dramatic that even Lin Ruo was stunned for a moment before bursting into laughter.
"Ha ha……"
Ah Fu and Ah Shou are sometimes much funnier than those comedy movies!
"Woof woof!" Ah Shou looked at Lin Ruo's injured expression, as if to say, "My basin is broken, and you're still laughing!"
"Um..." Lin Ruo felt Ah Shou's resentful gaze and quickly took a deep breath to suppress her laughter. "Um... cough cough... how about we get a new one?"
Ah Shou looked at its "prematurely deceased" food bowl and nodded reluctantly. It didn't want to eat from the flattened bowl, as it would affect its appetite. When its owner let them go out to play, it would bury the food bowl so that it could rest in peace!
Lin Ruo tasted the crayfish she had made and felt that the spiciness wasn't quite enough, but it was still quite delicious. She ate a lot of shells with cola, and finally cooked herself a packet of spicy chicken noodles before she was truly full.
Afu ate half a bowl of crayfish, while Ashou, unusually, only ate half of Afu's portion, because he couldn't enjoy the food as much as he had with the new bowl.
Lin Ruo stopped paying attention to Afu and Ashou. She put all the dishes into the dishwasher to wash them, and used her special ability to clean Afu and Ashou's basins before putting them away.
Then she dragged Afu and Ashou to brush their teeth, took the washed sheets and duvet covers out of the washing machine, used her water-based supernatural abilities to dry them, folded them neatly and put them into her space, and only then could she finally relax.
Suddenly remembering that there were still many mutated animals piled up in the space, and the crystal cores had not yet been extracted, she used her mental energy to enter the space and drag the corpses of those mutated animals out of the static space one by one. Then she used her mental energy to probe into their heads to extract the crystal cores.
After a series of operations, Lin Ruo collected a total of 38 level-one crystal cores, which can be considered a bumper harvest.
We are currently in the early stages of mutation, and only powerful mutated beasts can evolve crystal cores. In my previous life, an expert calculated the ratio to be approximately 50:1.
After putting away the crystal core, Lin Ruo looked up at her watch and found that it was already past nine o'clock at night. Ah Shou had already gone to bed in the bedroom, and Ah Fu was lying by the door as if he was going to keep watch.
Because Ah Liu joined the group later, Ah Fu doesn't trust him much yet, and only feels at ease when Ah Liu or Ah Shou guards the door.
Lin Ruo walked over, bent down and patted Afu's big head, carefully explaining, "It's alright, our fortress is very sturdy. The windows are high, and ordinary animals can't reach them yet. The gate is very strong, and no mutated beast can break in."
Afu looked up at Lin Ruo and cried out, "Awoo!" It was a little worried.
Lin Ruo smiled slightly and opened the heavy gate of the fortress. "You can go outside and test it out to see how sturdy our gate is."
Afu walked out with some doubt, and behind it the fortress gate closed, which Lin Ruo then locked.
It started by gently bumping against the gate, finding it unmoved. Then it gradually increased its force, but the fortress gate still wouldn't budge.
In the end, Ah Fu tried his best but still couldn't break down the fortress door. Instead, he woke Ah Shou up. Ah Shou tilted his head and looked at Lin Ruo standing by the door, not understanding what they were doing.
Lin Ruo waved her hand at Ashou, "It's nothing, Afu just wants to test how sturdy our house is."
Ah Shou became interested as soon as it heard this, and it wanted to go too! It wanted to do what Ah Fu wanted to do!
Lin Ruo blinked, naturally fulfilling Ah Shou's idea. Two mutated beasts, each over 3 meters long and more than 2 meters tall at the shoulder, charged at the fortress together, but the fortress gate remained unmoved.
Lin Ruo was very satisfied. It was worth the time she paid attention to this underground ore. The houses built from this underground ore were indeed sturdy.
Finally, Afu and Ashou were exhausted, but the fortress door didn't even budge. Now they finally understood what Lin Ruo meant by "sturdy".
When Lin Ruo opened the door, Afu and Ashou obediently went to sleep.
She added two logs to each fireplace in the house before returning to her room. She then took out an electric heater from her storage space, plugged it into the power box, and turned it on. Only then did she feel at ease and crawl into bed to drift off to sleep.
The next morning, when Lin Ruo woke up, she saw Afu and Ashou squatting by the door. Knowing that they were in a hurry, she opened the door and let Afu and Ashou out to take care of their bodily needs.
As soon as the door opened, a blast of cold air rushed in, and tiny ice crystals immediately began to appear in the air near the door. Lin Ruo tightened her down jacket and, watching Afu and Ashou run away quickly, she closed the fortress door again.
She then added large logs to each fireplace in the house before starting to train in the training room.
After four hours of training, Lin Ruo was covered in sweat when she came out of the training room. She took a shower in her bedroom before letting out a sigh of relief.
She turned on the vacuum cleaner, got dressed, and then opened the fortress gate to go outside and check the medicinal powder.
The platform outside the fortress was covered in a silvery white layer of tiny ice crystals. Lin Ruo quickly activated her water-based powers to avoid feeling any coldness.
Afu and Ashou were playing happily in the distance around the place where the insect repellent had been sprayed yesterday. Many insects had died there, and Lin Ruo had told them not to go near or eat them.
It just wandered around curiously, jumping on and off the powder, but never actually touched it.
Ah Liu stretched out her willow branches and joined in the fun, stringing the dead rats together and swinging them around in the air for amusement.
Lin Ruo sighed helplessly. Even insects and rats could have so much fun. How bored must they be? The fortress was surrounded by crushed insect corpses.
She crouched down, stretched out her hand, and with a flash of blue light, a slender popsicle extended from Lin Ruo's hand.
