In Japan, you can find yakitori restaurants of varying sizes in any city. Even izakayas will serve chicken skewers that are either grilled with salt or grilled with sauce. Of course, there are not so many types of yakitori in izakayas. The most common ones are chicken wings, chicken legs, and chicken skin, which is a great dish to go with alcohol.
In a place like [Satoyaya] that specializes in yakitori, there are so many varieties that Fujiwara Yu was a little confused about how to choose. In the end, he picked up a skewer of salt-grilled chicken. If he wanted to see whether the ingredients of a store were fresh and the store's skills, he would definitely choose the salt-grilled chicken skewers that can be seen even in convenience stores.
Fujiwara Yuu picked up a lemon from the side, squeezed the lemon juice evenly over the chicken skewers, and then shoved them into his mouth. The chicken thighs were perfectly browned, and even though they were cut into larger pieces, the meat remained tender. The juicy meat mixed with the slightly sour lemon perfectly neutralized the greasy feeling. The amount of fine salt was very precisely controlled, and the charcoal fire made the ordinary chicken skewers extraordinary.
Just by tasting this skewer, you can guess how delicious it is when grilled with the store’s secret sauce.
The chicken diaphragm, which is half tendon and half meat, presents a beautiful brown color after being marinated in sauce. Thanks to the chef's precise control of the heat, the diaphragm is so delicious that you can't get enough of it.
The chicken meatballs are made from pressed chicken breast and chicken thigh meat. First, they are paired with raw egg liquid to make the sauce more rich and sweet. Finally, the chicken meatballs are stuffed into raw green peppers the size of your mouth. The solid meat and the slightly bitter and crisp taste of the green peppers make you dance like a song "In the Mood for Love" directly in your mouth, and you can even imagine the graceful dance of a tango dancer.
Finally, Fujiwara Yu chose a skewer of chicken breast, which is not usually seen. It's not that this part is rare, but the chef has obviously innovated this dish. He spread white sauce on the salt-roasted chicken breast in the style of a cream stew, and covered it with a large amount of cheese and grilled it with a flame torch. Finally, he sprinkled a little seaweed as a garnish.
The grilled savory cheese is paired with a sweet and delicious white sauce, and the juicy chicken breast is sprinkled with fine salt and black pepper. It is a signature dish recommended by the chef with such a strong sense of layered flavor.
Jinpei Matsuda would not give up his curry even at a yakitori restaurant, but he had to admit that the chicken curry at this restaurant was really delicious. He asked while eating:
"Hagi, isn't Chisu coming to eat with us today?"
"It seems she's having dinner with her colleagues tonight and said she'll come see us tomorrow afternoon."
After hearing Matsuda address Chisuga-sister, Morobushi Kagemitsu directly asked his doubts:
"Matsuda, why are you calling Chisuga-nee by her first name?"
“哈哈哈哈,因为小阵平的初恋就是我姐嘛,虽然没有追到现在也没有后续,但他还是不愿意用'姐'来称呼!”秋原研二忍不住偷笑起来,想到小时候千速还因为这件事情揍了松田一顿呢。
Matsuda Jinpei stared with half-moon eyes, unable to refute, so he had to put two mouthfuls of curry rice into his mouth. The sound of his strong chewing was heard clearly by everyone in the audience. Fujiwara Yu was a little worried that he would chew too hard and break the dentures that had just been filled for only two months.
"Where are we going to play after eating? This is our first time traveling together." Jōgiya Ling asked while taking small bites of the red ginger fried noodles that he had to order since he was at the beach.
"The nightlife at the seaside in summer must be to go to a bar and drink. Hey, let's indulge ourselves today." As a frequent participant in social gatherings, Kenji Akihara naturally knew how to have fun. At this time and place, they could only go to a bar to drink and chat.
Fujiwara Yu calmly picked up the iced barley tea and took a sip. He was not a good drinker and felt lucky that he didn't drink now. Otherwise, when the bar was cleared, he would probably sleep on the table until the next day without drinking.
The hotel they stayed in was near the Araihama Beach where they were going to visit tomorrow, so the active area tonight was centered around Miura City. Fortunately, there was a music bar with a good reputation at Misaki-cho 1-chome, near Miura General Hospital.
After pushing open the brown wooden door, you will see that the interior decoration of the store is more of a Central European style. The store manager is a burly uncle. Judging from the way he is mixing cocktails for customers, he has been in the bartending industry for at least ten years.
And there were no other employees in the store. It was obvious that he was not only a bartender, but also the owner of the store.
"Would you like to sit at the bar or in a booth? There are private rooms over there!"
Akihara Kenji smiled as he walked towards the bar and snapped his fingers expertly. He then took off his sunglasses with a sly smile and said:
"Boss, let's go to the private room. Please make me a Tequila Sunset, thank you."
"Well... I'll have two Olympic cocktails." Yin Dahang, who has a good alcohol tolerance, made his own choice after looking at the menu. He usually drinks more beer and sake, and prefers cocktails with brandy as the base liquor.
Jinpei Matsuda said that they could just take the same as Akihara. As for the other three, they were obviously outsiders. It was their first time at this kind of music hotel and they had no idea where to start looking at the full-page menu. They were dizzy just looking at all the different names.
In the end, Furuya Rei and Morofushi Kagemitsu both chose Cranberry Kool-Aid, which sounded more like a drink, while Fujiwara Yuu, to everyone's surprise, ordered a glass of lemon soda. Yes, the kind of lemon soda whose ingredients are only lemon, sugar and soda water.
"Don't you drink?" Yin Dahang asked curiously.
Fujiwara Yuu thought about how he'd passed out after drinking a Long Island Iced Tea. He developed a fear of cocktails, and even felt that the more a cocktail sounded like a drink, the scarier it was. He picked up a French fry and put it in his mouth, saying calmly,
"You haven't forgotten that you can't drink and drive, have you?"
