The arrival of July has successfully brought a new wave of enthusiasm to Tokyo. For police academy students, their favorite field training has become the project they fear the most. Instead, the cultural classes where they can doze off indoors with air conditioning have become their favorite projects.
After a day of training, Fujiwara Yu had taken a shower and changed into clean clothes. He nestled comfortably on the not-so-big single bed in the dormitory, with his hands behind his head, and used the power of wind to bring the half-read "The Disappearing 13 Steps" on the desk to his front. Normally, he didn't have much interest in mystery novels, but since he wanted to be a policeman, he has been reading them with great gusto.
A book floating in the air does not need to be held in the hand nor does it need to be turned by oneself, so for Fujiwara Yu, the best way to rest is to give him enough private space so that he can use the power of the wind to be a lazy person.
The only sound in the quiet room was the turning of pages. Of course, there were occasional frog calls outside the house, which was normal in the evening of July in midsummer.
The moon of summer
The octopus is in a clay pot, still intoxicated by a dream, on a summer night with a full moon in the sky.
I can’t help but think of the famous haiku written by Matsuo Basho. It seems that summer has really arrived.
Fujiwara Yu twisted his body to a more comfortable position, but before he could enjoy it for two minutes, there was a knock on the door. He quickly gathered his power, and the floating novel fell directly onto the soft bed like a bird with broken wings.
"Here I come."
"Ayou, you don't have any appointments tomorrow, right?"
Ever since Morofushi Kagemitsu truly regarded Fujiwara as a friend, the way they addressed each other became much more intimate.
Fujiwara Yuu stood in the house and noticed the bag in Morobushi's hand, and said curiously:
"I don't have any appointments tomorrow. But why are you carrying a bag? Are you planning to go somewhere?"
"We plan to leave for Kanagawa Prefecture right now. We've just consulted Instructor Onitsuka, and he agrees we should leave right away. Of course, he also reminded us to be careful and avoid getting involved in other cases."
"There aren't that many cases to get involved with. Japan's public security is pretty good." Fujiwara Yu said as he opened the wardrobe. "Wait a moment. I'll pack some clothes and come back."
"Okay, we'll wait for you downstairs."
A few days ago, Kenji Akihara suggested that everyone go to Kanagawa Prefecture to play together, and then we can even make some money from Chizuki Akihara. She is really worthy of being called a kind sister and a filial brother. They only miss each other's wallet when they see each other for a few months.
It's the height of summer in Tokyo, and the weather is incredibly hot. Presumably, the weather in nearby Kanagawa Prefecture isn't much better either. Since she was going to the beach, Fujiwara Yuu opted for no jacket, choosing only two essential summer changes of clothes and, of course, the swim trunks she needed for swimming.
With everything ready, Fujiwara Yu walked quickly downstairs, and what caught his eye was a scarlet Jeep Cherokee Laredo. The jeep could accommodate seven people and was a good choice for self-driving tours.
Jinpei Matsuda was wearing black sunglasses. Before he even reached the beach, he was already wearing a white T-shirt with a dark blue short-sleeved shirt over it. His lower body was naturally his favorite black shorts. He was wearing slippers, and it was obvious that he was not responsible for driving.
Fujiwara Yu slowly shifted his gaze. Seeing that everyone except himself was wearing flip-flops, he widened his eyes, pointed at himself, and asked in confusion:
"Does this mean... that I can drive?"
"Hey, you're the youngest, so you should do more things when you're young, right? Catch it!"
Fujiwara Yu took the car keys helplessly. He didn't know when these guys knew that he was two years younger than them, which led to them saying "You are the youngest" or "We are all old" from time to time, implying that he should run more errands.
Of course, most of the time it was just a joke, just wanting to make a few jokes and get the sour-faced Fujiwara to call him brother.
Zhu Fushiki Jingguang sat directly in the passenger seat with a map in hand. He looked at Fujiwara who was fastening his seat belt with a smile and said in a cheerful tone:
"Don't worry, Ayou. I will show you the way and won't let you go the other way."
"...Thank you for your thoughtfulness."
Fujiwara Yu originally wanted to use the excuse that he didn't know the road to drive only a short distance, but now there was a great man who was familiar with the road sitting next to him, and he was afraid that he would not be able to make use of his ability to make up for his lack of direction.
To be honest, he is not directionally challenged, but he rarely goes out on weekdays. In addition, there will be advanced positioning and navigation systems in the future, and even remote places will have navigation. As a result, young people in the future will have the problem of not being able to tell the directions without navigation.
The distance between Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture is not far, but since the Araihama Beach they are going to is at the bottom of Kanagawa, the driving time will be much longer than driving to Yokohama City.
"We're now within the boundaries of Miura City. Go straight along this road, pass three T-intersections, turn right at the second traffic light, and then drive all the way to the beach."
"Yes, I understand."
After about a two-hour drive, we successfully arrived at the local yakitori restaurant recommended by Akihara Kenji's sister, Chizu. We originally wanted to recommend a delicious local seafood restaurant, but everyone thought that Fujiwara didn't like fish, so we didn't choose it.
The yakitori restaurant called [Satoyaya] is a famous internet celebrity restaurant in Miura City. It became famous not because celebrities have come to eat there, but simply because the taste and cost-effectiveness of this restaurant are very high, especially in the evening, you can’t eat there without a reservation.
The restaurant is decorated in a simple Japanese style, and the aroma of charcoal fire can be smelled as soon as the door opens. The waiter led them to the reserved booth. The restaurant was already packed, and even dialects from Kyushu and western countries could be heard. It seemed that many tourists came here to visit.
