Chapter 25 A Bad Premonition

What is it like to have piles of abalone piled up in front of you but not be able to take them all home?

For Jian Yuelan, it was nothing but heartache.

However, the bucket is already full and there is nothing I can do about the heartache.

"Sister-in-law, let's go back. There's no place to put it."

Chen Qiuju and Bai Saozi glanced at their buckets, then at the remaining abalone. After exchanging glances, they asked her, "Do you feel bad if you don't pick up so many abalone?"

“It hurts!”

It was as painful as if someone had robbed her of her money.

"Do you want to pick up more to take back?" Mrs. Bai coaxed.

The eyes that were always gentle as water now had more cunning and were as smart as a little fox.

The corner of Jian Yuelan's mouth twitched. He was teasing her like a child.

"Sister-in-law, don't keep me in suspense. Just tell me what you have to say."

She had said this much, and Mrs. Bai did not hesitate.

She smiled and pointed to a coconut tree more than ten meters away. "Since you're so strong that you can kill a wild boar with a hammer, I think breaking a tree shouldn't be a problem. I need to weave a container out of coconut leaves to hold the abalone. What do you think of this idea?"

Jian Yuelan's eyes lit up, "Okay."

She turned and left, "Be safe, both of you. I'll be back soon."

"good."

So, the three of them divided the work and cooperated.

Jian Yuelan went to pick coconut leaves, while Bai Saozi and Chen Qiuju continued to pick abalone.

The bucket is full, but there is room on the reef.

When Jian Yuelan came back with the coconut leaves, there was a pile of abalone on the originally flat reef.

"Sister-in-law, I brought back the coconut leaves."

When Mrs. Bai heard this, she came out of the water, shook off the water droplets on her hands, sat on the reef, took a coconut leaf and started to work.

Her hands were quick, and the coconut leaves moved as her fingers flew.

In a moment, the grid appeared.

Jian Yuelan was quite surprised. "Aren't you a city girl? How come you can knit?"

In her impression, this kind of skill is generally found in rural areas, and city people rarely have it.

Mrs. Bai didn't even raise her head. "Grandma taught me. I can weave bamboo, rattan, and leaves. I can also knit sweaters."

"Then why can't you sew?"

Chen Qiuju was quite puzzled. The technical content of knitting was obviously higher than that of simple needlework. She couldn't understand why she could knit but not sew clothes.

"The needle and thread are too thin."

Mrs. Bai kept moving her hands. She looked at the sky and urged, "You two, don't be idle. Hurry and pick up the abalone."

If you can’t finish it, you can dry it and sell it.

What great stuff! It would be a shame if we didn’t pick up some to take back with us.

Finally, the basket woven by Mrs. Bai was finished.

She wove it tightly and finely. Although the shape was not very pretty, it was strong and sturdy.

Jian Yuelan tested the firmness and found it was better than she expected. She said, "Let's see how much it can hold."

Chen Qiuju and Bai Saozi immediately took the abalone from the reef and put them into the basket, and Jian Yuelan helped.

Soon, the basket was full and they could not go any further, but there was still a lot left on the reef.

“There are still so many things left to be installed.”

Chen Qiuju looked reluctant.

Jian Yuelan was reluctant to leave, but it was getting dark and they really couldn't delay any longer.

"Sister-in-law, we can't take these away."

The implication: throw it back into the sea.

Mrs. Bai also agreed, "Xiao Jian is right, it's getting darker and darker, we should go back."

"OK."

Chen Qiuju gritted her teeth and threw the abalone back into the sea with great pain.

Just then, white waves hit the rocks, splashing water.

Chen Qiuju was startled. She observed the waves and said anxiously, "Let's go back quickly. The tide is coming in."

"Walk!"

It is very exciting to race against time with the tide. The terrain here is relatively low, and the entire coastline will be flooded when the tide comes.

In order to avoid being drowned, the three of them walked very fast.

More than ten minutes later, the three people almost jogged away from the danger zone and appeared on the higher beach.

The danger is completely eliminated.

Then they can walk sideways like crabs.

The joy of the harvest made the three of them happy and they talked and laughed all the way.

When they reached the intersection of the beach, Jian Yuelan found that there were people surrounding her.

There was also a faint sound of crying.

Her heart skipped a beat. No way?!

Could it be that they encountered another accident?

"Go and have a look?"

Mrs. Bai had a gossipy look on her face and was ready to make something happen.

"Walk."

Jian Yuelan raised her foot and walked towards the crowd.

Mrs. Bai and Chen Qiuju followed immediately.

When I got there, I saw Xiao Xiaocao sitting on the ground crying.

He was soaking wet like a drowned rat, and his hair was dripping with water.

"Why is she crying?"

Jian Yuelan was curious and asked softly to the sweet girl Zhang Xiuxiu who looked a little strange next to her.

“The seafood is gone.”

Zhang Xiuxiu succinctly recounted what had happened. It turned out that Xiao Xiaocao wanted to pick up more seafood and did not retreat with the crowd in time. When the big wave came, she slipped and rolled off the reef.

If it weren't for a few fellow villagers who were good at swimming and rescued her at the risk of their own lives, this person would have been killed.

But in return, the fruits of her hard work for several hours were lost.

After recovering from the shock, the seafood man who thought of her could no longer hold back his grief and burst into tears.

"Is there no one to persuade you?"

Mrs. Bai asked Zhang Xiuxiu.

This person has a bad temper, even more aggressive than that hot girl Zheng Wan.

Hearing what Sister Bai said, she said angrily, "I did try to persuade her, but this Sister Yang is nothing. She..."
