Why does she give off this full-time housewife vibe? Wu Yu remembers that he usually has to coax Violet into cooking for him, so why is she being so proactive today? And the most crucial question is, why is she here in the first place?
Wu Yu asked in confusion, "Weren't you in class today? Why did you come back?"
"Well, a friend invited me out, and... I agreed," Violet stammered, her gaze towards Wu Yu becoming somewhat evasive.
"You skipped class?" Wu Yu finally understood what she meant.
"I'm sorry, I won't do it again next time," Violet bowed to Wu Yu and said apologetically.
"It's just skipping class, what's the big deal?" Wu Yu was about to speak when he suddenly froze.
Why should she apologize to herself? Why is she afraid of her own punishment?
Violet's actions gave Wu Yu a strange sense of familiarity; it seemed that he had done something similar.
I still remember when I was in elementary school, my parents were called in by the teacher because I often didn't do my homework. I was so scared that as soon as I got home, I rushed to my father to massage his back, hoping to please him first before telling him the bad news. In the end, I still couldn't escape a scolding.
But why would Violet apologize to him when she hadn't done anything to wrong him?
Skipping class is wrong, but outsiders have no right to criticize those who skip class.
So, does she consider me family? This thought involuntarily surfaced in Wu Yu's mind.
Wu Yu slowly walked towards Violet. He noticed that Violet, with her head down, was glancing at him furtively.
Wu Yu found it a bit funny; this guy couldn't even pretend to be pitiful?
Wu Yu had already reached Violet, raised his hand as if to hit her, and Violet shrank back in fear, but dared not run away.
Wu Yu placed his large hand on Violet's head, but did not punish her. He gently stroked her beautiful hair and whispered, "Don't do it again next time."
Perhaps you could try not to treat her as a burden, but to genuinely accept her without any ulterior motives, purely based on your own preferences, and treat her as the beginning of your second life.
Seeing that Wu Yu didn't get angry, Violet became bolder. She crouched down slightly, took a step back, and escaped Wu Yu's clutches. She pouted and complained, "Wu Yu is so annoying. He messed up my hair. It'll be a hassle to fix it."
Wu Yu looked away, pretending not to hear.
Violet seized the opportunity to move closer, grabbed Wu Yu's clothes and sniffed them, then said loudly, "You smell like a woman. Well, I worked so hard to prepare dinner for you at home, and you went out to fool around with other women. Tell me, which woman is it?"
Hey, hey, hey, why are we suddenly acting out a melodrama again? Although Wu Yu was quite surprised that Violet could smell Virginia's scent, he wasn't worried about not being able to explain it clearly, after all, Violet wasn't his girlfriend.
Wu Yu looked utterly dejected. "Virginia, let's go do a good deed together."
"Hey, Wu Yu, shouldn't you have made some excuses first, then let the clever me spot the flaws, and then come to coax me when I start to lose my temper? How could you just admit it directly?" Violet exclaimed in surprise.
"Thump." Wu Yu casually gave Violet a coin on the head and said irritably, "Read less of those brainless romance novels in the future, or you'll become stupid."
"Ugh, Wu Yu, you're not playing by the rules," Violet said, feeling wronged.
"Save this kind of comedic drama for your foreign boyfriend; I'm not cut out for it." Although your pitiful look is very charming, Wu Yu is a man determined to become a true advocate of gender equality.
"Tch, how boring. I guess I should start dating. I'm getting tired of hanging out with you, you blockhead, every day. Yeah! I can start dating now, Wu Yu, do you have any good recommendations?" Violet said belatedly.
"No, but you can tell me about your ideal partner, and I can give you some advice." Wu Yu felt like he was being forced to act mature in front of his younger sister.
“Just like my brother,” Violet said immediately.
"Then you'll probably never meet her in your lifetime," Wu Yu thought to himself, essentially sentencing Violet to death. However, he pretended to want to help, saying, "I'll keep an eye out for you."
Violet nodded, indicating that she accepted Wu Yu's kindness. Then she asked the question that had been on her mind for a long time, "By the way, will Wu Yu get married and have children in the future?"
"Yes." Wu Yu was not opposed to marriage.
"So, Wu Yu, do you have someone you like right now?" Violet seemed a little reserved when she asked this question.
"No," Wu Yu said decisively, then, as if seeing through Violet's thoughts, he reassured her, "Don't worry, I won't just abandon you."
"Hmm." Violet nodded, then, as if still unsure, asked again, "Is there someone important to you in the capital?"
“You’re all alone,” Wu Yu said truthfully.
"Smooth-talking," Violet muttered to herself like a mosquito, her ears turning red.
"Oh no, the food is almost burnt!" Violet fled as if she were escaping.
"Heh, you think you can mess with me? I'm an old hand at this!" Wu Yu thought smugly, though his heart was beating much faster than usual.
Violet held the bowl, serving the food with steady hands, but her heart was in turmoil.
