Chapter Twenty: A Heroic Farewell to Death

After hearing these words, Wu Yu was speechless. He tried to refute them, but his once arrogant and intelligent mind was like rusty scrap iron, completely useless.

Jack said no more. He picked up the last piece of wood that had been placed beside him and gently placed it over Wu Yu's head. Wu Yu could only watch helplessly as all the light in his vision was taken away.

After covering the wooden planks, Jack used his battle aura to move the sand onto the planks, then stomped on them several times to make sure there was nothing amiss before looking back at the demon army slowly approaching his fingertips.

With a wave of his hand, Jack tossed the long cloak he used to shield himself from the sandstorm far away.

What was revealed was a well-made brown leather armor and a head of silver, tousled hair.

His fair and smooth face revealed a sharp and cold expression, his deep blue eyes shone with a captivating luster, and his silver hair shone even more brilliantly under the blazing sun. What a handsome young man he was!

As expected, Wu Yu's previous guess was correct; the cloak limited Jack's appearance, but unfortunately, he would never see Jack's most handsome side again.

Jack drew his sword and threw the scabbard far away. He knew this would be his last battle, so he had to give it his all to leave no regrets.

After Jack assumed a perfect starting stance, he stood there motionless like a statue, exuding an icy aura without revealing any sharpness.

What he gripped between his five fingers was not only the hilt of the sword, but also the power he had concentrated into a single point. With no sheath in his hand, he himself was the sheath. Only by concealing the sword within himself could he unleash its full sharpness in an instant.

The demon army advanced at a steady pace, neither too fast nor too slow. Even after someone noticed the humans standing there, their speed did not fluctuate at all.

The Black Dragon of Purgatory, which was walking at the front, came to within fifty meters of Jack. This distance was only a few steps for it, but the food called humans made it a little troubled. Should it go over and swallow them whole as an appetizer, or spit out a breath of dragon fire to torture and amuse itself?

However, it dared not make a single move in the end. Thinking of the being above its head, even as proud as it was, it was as obedient as a well-behaved kitten, not daring to overstep its bounds in the slightest.

But it mischievously intensified its next breath, hoping that its exhalation, no less powerful than a category 10 typhoon, would blow that tiny creature over. Bullying the weak is just so much fun.

Despite the fierce winds, Jack remained unmoved.

The Black Dragon of Purgatory seemed unwilling to admit defeat and wanted to increase its strength.

But Jack suddenly spoke up, his voice amplified by his fighting spirit, "Evil Demon King, I am Jack Russell, Baron of the Oak Empire. For the honor of the nobility, I hereby challenge you."

The Black Dragon of Purgatory felt like it had heard the funniest joke of its life, and it opened its mouth as if to burst into laughter.

"I accept your challenge." A voice devoid of any emotion echoed from within the black mist.

This forced the Black Dragon of Purgatory to suppress its laughter. It had to grit its teeth and endure the cramping pain in its abdominal muscles. It vowed to throw this human into the volcanic lava and grind him to dust.

Without any hesitation, Jack's tense body exploded in an instant. He pushed off with his foot, and a burst of air exploded behind him, stirring up sand and stones everywhere. He himself transformed into a cannonball and flew towards the Demon King on the head of the Black Dragon in Purgatory.

Meteor Slash

Jack attacked relentlessly, channeling all his fighting spirit into the sword in his hand. The silver fighting spirit covered the sword, condensing it into a giant lightsaber three meters long. With unparalleled power, Jack unleashed his strongest sword strike in front of the Demon King.

However, the lightsaber encountered an obstacle three meters in front of the Demon King. It was as if an invisible wall of air existed in the air, preventing Jack's attack from advancing an inch.

"Ah! Break through!" Jack didn't give up. He continued to squeeze every last bit of power out of his body, trying to break through the obstacle in front of him.

The sword's light intensified; in such a short time, Jack had actually broken through his own limits.

However, the air wall remained completely unmoved, and quite abruptly, its area doubled in size.

Jack was powerless to resist; the sword flew from his hand, and he himself was thrown back even faster than when he came at it.

"Thump."

The sword fell to the ground, while Jack embedded himself in the sand.

"Interesting, but ridiculously stupid," the demon king in the black mist commented indifferently.
