Chapter 187 Animal World (7) - Caught Again
If the bed weren't so high and there weren't any stairs to go up and down, Ning Shuzhen would have liked to see if there was anything inside that she could eat.
If so, this is her holy land where she can survive until the end of the game.
Seeing that the rain continued until sunset without stopping, she stayed snuggled in bed, and with nothing to do, she soon drifted off to sleep again.
When she was awakened by the sunshine, she suddenly realized that the rain had stopped and the sun was out.
This was good news. She got out of bed, stood up, and looked outside. The sun was shining brightly. The only downside was that the ground was wet.
She hesitated for a moment, then decided to go out and find something to eat, since she hadn't eaten in a long time.
Ning Shu found the grass she wanted to eat nearby, but there wasn't much of it. She figured that the proportion of different types of grass might vary from place to place.
She was in a large open space with no dense trees, but plenty of grass, where she could run around freely.
After satisfying her physiological needs, she thought for a moment and decided to go back to her den. It was more important to stay put, but there wasn't much grass here that she liked to eat.
In the end, she picked out some edible grass and started moving it back to her new nest like an ant.
That way, if she's inconvenient, she won't have to come out to find food.
Ning Shu was busy all morning. At noon, she was going back to her new home. Afraid of getting the bedding dirty, she wiped all four of her legs by the window again and again.
Once she felt the mud had been wiped away, she jumped in and continued wiping the wet areas off the bedding.
She piled the grass in a corner of the bed, which almost gave her the means to survive again.
She was a little sleepy, so she snuggled into the blankets and fell asleep.
When Ning Shu woke up in the afternoon, she thought it was dark because the light was dim where she was.
She looked up to see the sky outside, wondering if she had slept too long or if it was about to rain again.
What she saw nearly scared her to death: a large, bruised tiger's face was pressed against the glass, staring at her.
It was that white tiger from before; it actually won!
Although it was injured on its face, it was clear that it had won, and it had even found her!
Why was she able to recognize it? Because its heterochromatic eyes were so distinctive that it was hard for her to forget them.
Her rabbit-like body was trembling with fear. Why was this person so persistent with her? She wasn't even that big of a pound.
When the white tiger saw that she had finally woken up, it very human-like raised its paw and tapped on the glass, though it was unclear what it meant.
If you asked her to open the window, she couldn't push it open with her small frame; if you asked her to go outside, she would be even more afraid.
At this moment, Ning Shu was absolutely certain that the White Tiger was a player, because all its current behaviors were very human-like.
Seeing that she remained motionless, the white tiger actually extended its sharp claws and scratched the glass with its sharp nails, making a series of ear-piercing sounds.
The rabbit's ears couldn't take it anymore, and Ning Shu couldn't help but take a few steps back.
Seeing that she had finally moved, the white tiger switched back to knocking on the glass. Ning Shu ignored it, but its expression was clearly not good, and its gaze towards her was filled with a death stare.
Ning Shu dared not go out anymore. The tiger seemed to be getting impatient and stretched a paw directly into the open window.
This terrified Ning Shu, turning her face pale. It seemed they were about to reveal their true intentions.
Si Zhong realized that his claws couldn't reach Ning Shu, so he forcefully pushed the window open completely.
However, it was too big to squeeze in, so it had to give up and decided to wait outside.
He simply didn't believe she could stay inside forever; starving her for a few days would make her behave.
He was immediately unsure again, because he saw provisions prepared in the corner of the bed.
Si Zhong reached his paw in and just managed to reach the grass. He then pushed all the grass off the bed.
While Ning Shu was asleep, he kept observing the structure of the small room, and he also discovered the points that Ning Shu had noticed.
Therefore, he knew that Ning Shu could not leave from the other side of the bed, and the window was the only exit.
Ning Shu watched helplessly as he threw away all the grain and fodder he had painstakingly brought in, and her heart bled.
She was screaming inwardly: Why is it that every time she gets everything ready, someone always comes and ruins it? She just wants to survive until the end of the dungeon, why is it so hard?!
After doing all this, Si Zhong waited by the window.
Ning Shu endured a night and a day, and finally decided to escape on the second night.
Hunger wasn't the main reason she wanted to escape; it was because she was so thirsty. If she didn't drink water soon, she would probably die of thirst here.
After the white tiger fell asleep, she repeated the previous scene, but this time she was unlucky.
Immediately after she left the cabin, there was a loud bang, and then she was pinned to the ground.
After realizing what had happened, she looked back and saw that the window had been closed by the white tiger, and now she had nowhere to hide.
You have to admit, the White Tiger is wicked. It can't use this little house itself, so it simply won't let anyone else use it either. It's truly wicked to the extreme.
After the white tiger caught her, it lowered its head, brought its nose close to her body, and kept sniffing her, seemingly searching for some scent.
Are they trying to see if she can eat it? Can you tell how much meat there is just by smelling it?
Si Zhong had no idea what Ning Shu was thinking. He was simply trying to absorb her scent, as he hadn't seen her for several days.
I miss it so much.
Not satisfied with just smelling her, he stuck out his tongue and licked her fur, simply wanting to celebrate "returning her to her rightful owner".
Ke Ning thought he was about to start the meal! She was so frightened that her body was shaking uncontrollably and she screamed.
The sound was somewhat rare; Si Zhong had never heard her make that sound before, so he licked even more enthusiastically.
Ning Shu's voice gradually faded as she realized that the other person was just licking her fur and had no intention of eating her; her fur was just wet and uncomfortable.
Si Zhong stopped licking her fur and seemed to have no intention of leaving. He simply held her in his arms and sniffed her.
Ning Shu felt safe because after she regained her senses, she noticed a bloody smell coming from the white tiger's mouth, indicating that it had just finished eating.
The other person shouldn't be hungry at this point, so her life, which is her only source of sustenance, is temporarily saved.
Regarding its behavior just now, she could only assume that the other party was marking itself with its scent, but she remembered that tigers mark their territory with urine. Could it use saliva instead?
On second thought, she realized that it wouldn't do if the other person peed on her.
Forget it, she shouldn't worry about it. A little saliva is better than that stuff.
After the celebration, Si Zhong knew she was probably thirsty or hungry, so he took her to the grass leaves covered with raindrops and let her drink water.
Ning Shu didn't stand on ceremony with him; she was genuinely thirsty, otherwise she wouldn't have taken such a risk.
