Li Mai glanced at him with a chuckle. "Want to learn kung fu from me?"
Chu Yan nodded without hesitation.
"Who is your martial arts master?" Li Mai asked.
“My maternal grandfather!” Chu Yan said.
"The General Who Guards the North?" Li Mai asked.
"Yes!" Chu Yan replied proudly.
Li Mai chuckled, "Then you can come to me to learn kung fu after you defeat your grandfather. As you know, there are rules in the martial arts world. A person can only have one master in a certain field. If you want to find a new master, you have to defeat your first master."
Upon hearing this, Chu Yan squatted down helplessly. "Master, is that really true?"
Grandpa is so powerful, when will he ever be able to beat him? Even Yang Rui can't beat Grandpa now.
Li Mai nodded. "Of course, you call me master because I taught you Gomoku and I accepted. If you want me to teach you kung fu, then we have to follow the rules of the martial arts world."
Actually, Li Mai's kung fu is different from that of this world. Her kung fu was trained in the past when she was killing alien beasts. Every move is a killing move, which is different from the fancy moves he is learning now. That's why Li Mai made such a request to him.
Furthermore, she believed that given his current personality, he was not suited to learn her deadly techniques. As for telekinesis, he would never learn it in his entire life if he weren't a cultivator, but since she couldn't openly tell him and hurt him, Li Mai didn't mention it.
Seeing Li Mai's firm resolve, Chu Yan silently agreed.
Suddenly, Li Mai sensed someone watching her from outside the courtyard gate.
She looked towards the courtyard gate and saw Chu Yan standing there.
She sat up abruptly. No, there was Chu Yan squatting in front of her. That must be Chu Yan's twin brother, Yang Rui.
"Chu Yan, have you learned the art of creating clones?" Li Mai suddenly asked Chu Yan.
Chu Yan stood up and looked towards the front door, her lips twitching slightly. "When did you get back?"
Yang Rui walked in. "I just got back. I heard that my mother hasn't been feeling well these past few days, so I came to see her. She told me that you've found a chess master, so I came to check on you."
Although Yang Rui was speaking to Chu Yan, his eyes were fixed on Li Mai.
Li Mai lay back on the recliner, raising an eyebrow. "So, you're Yang Rui, the young general of the Zhenbei General's Mansion?"
Yang Rui nodded and bowed respectfully, "It is I, paying my respects to Master Li."
Li Mai nodded. "Young General, you're too kind."
"Can you play a game of chess with me?" Yang Rui saw that Li Mai was sitting in the courtyard without a cloak, so he simply took off his own cloak and handed it to the guard behind him.
The guard quickly took it.
Li Mai raised an eyebrow. "Alright, what game do you want to play?"
"I heard you taught Chu Yan a game called Gomoku?" Yang Rui asked.
Li Mai nodded. "Yes, you want to learn?"
Yang Rui nodded.
Li Mai smiled. "What kind of chess are you good at?"
"Go!" Yang Rui said confidently.
As the young general of the Zhenbei General's Mansion, he not only had to learn and master martial arts, military strategy, and battle formations, but he also had to learn chess. He knew both Go and Chinese chess and was confident that he was quite good at them.
He was far superior to Chu Yan and Zhong Hui, and apart from his maternal grandfather, he rarely had any rivals.
Li Mai smiled and said, "Then let's play Go. If you can beat me, I'll teach you Gomoku. If you can't beat me, you can learn from Chu Yan. Is that okay?"
Yang Rui was immediately spurred on, "Okay, you said it."
Li Mai smiled and nodded. With a thought, she released Zhou Quan from her spatial dimension and placed him inside the house. She then called out to the inside, "Husband, bring out the Go set."
Zhou Quan responded and came out carrying the expectant box and two chess pieces.
Li Mai gestured for Yang Rui to sit down, "I'll let you play with the black pieces."
Yang Rui glanced at her, said nothing, and took the black piece to go first.
The two began to fight back and forth.
Chu Yan and Zhou Quan sat down next to the two men and watched them play chess in silence.
After half of the game was played, Li Mai defeated Yang Rui.
Yang Rui stared wide-eyed in disbelief, "You're that good at chess?"
"It's alright, thanks for the compliment!" Li Mai smiled.
Yang Rui frowned. "Where's the chess set?"
"Go get the chess set!" Li Mai looked at Chu Yan.
Chu Yan quickly ran to get it; there were no chess sets in his family's guest courtyard, only his father had some.
Soon the chess set was brought over, and Li Mai continued to play with Yang Rui.
After the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, Li Mai gently placed a piece, checkmate.
Yang Rui stared at the chessboard in disbelief for a while. How could this be?
Li Mai smiled and said, "I've been learning these things since I was three years old, so it's normal that you can't beat me."
Yang Rui remained silent.
He stood up to leave, but Li Mai asked in surprise, "What did you come to see me for today? You don't mean to defeat me, do you?"
"No, I just wanted to see what Chu Yan's taste is like." Yang Rui wasn't so upset after Li Mai asked him that, and even smiled at Li Mai.
"Oh, I heard you admire my brother a lot?" Li Mai suddenly asked.
"Your brother?" Yang Rui asked, puzzled.
“Yun Chang!” Li Mai said.
"What? You're the Cloud King's sister?" Yang Rui was stunned this time.
“Yeah, you don’t believe me?” Li Mai asked, raising an eyebrow.
"But his surname is Yun, and yours is Li?" Yang Rui asked, puzzled.
"Oh, that? Of course we don't have the same father, we're adopted siblings!" Li Mai explained with a smile.
She admired the young man quite a bit. He possessed a sharp and piercing quality that Chu Yan and Zhong Hui lacked. Although he and Chu Yan were twins, he was more composed and looked like an older brother.
