Chapter 302 Awakening

Manstein's voice, with its varied intonations, seemed to possess a certain magic, slowly drawing Xu Fan into the story.

By the time the story was finished, Xu Fan's face was covered in tears.

"My Lord, thank you for telling me such a wonderful story."

Manstein stood up and placed his top hat in front of him with one hand;

“Child, this is what I should do as an old man.”

Good night, God.

Goodnight, Xu Fan.

After he finished speaking, Manstein's hunched figure gradually walked away.

Xu Fan slowly lay down and began to close his eyes and sleep peacefully on the ground.

After waking up, Xu Fan felt refreshed and full of energy. He stretched and stood up.

Everything before my eyes was dark, but within the darkness, there were three faint lights, like candle flames.

Xu Fan walked over curiously and looked at the three iron contraptions in front of him.

He crouched down, staring at the three glowing metal lumps in front of him like a naive child watching ants scurrying across the ground. After a while, he burst into laughter.

Unintentionally, Xu Fan's hand touched one of the iron objects, and then a faint, light sword hum emanated from the blade.

Xu Fan was amused and sat on the ground clapping, as if he were enjoying an unparalleled performance.

Just when Xu Fan was getting bored, Manstein reappeared not far from him.

Xu Fan smiled and greeted Manstein:

"My Lord, did you rest well yesterday?"

"I slept really well last night. Look, I feel full of energy now."

Manstein, looking somewhat tired, chuckled, "What an enviable little fellow! I haven't had a good night's sleep in ages."

Xu Fan looked at Manstein with curiosity:

"Don't you feel tired?"

Manstein reached up and wiped his face:

"Fortunately, I am a god, so even if I don't need to rest, it won't have any effect on me."

Xu Fan nodded thoughtfully: "That's fine."

After a moment, as if remembering something, he asked Manstein curiously:

"God, didn't you say yesterday that after I had a good night's sleep, I would remember the things I had forgotten?"

Manstein's eyes gleamed with intelligence as he sized Xu Fan up and down:

"Have you remembered?"

Xu Fan lowered his head in frustration: "No, even after waking up, I still feel like I don't know anything."

While speaking, he unintentionally kicked a small pebble on the ground.

The pebbles made a clanging sound after touching the three divine swords, and at that moment, Xu Fan seemed to hear the sound of rain.

He tilted his head and strained his ears to listen, but the sound from before vanished in an instant.

Looking at Xu Fan's motionless posture, Manstein asked curiously:

"My child, what are you doing?"

Xu Fan looked at Manstein with a strange expression in his eyes:

Is it going to rain here?

"rain?"

Xu Fan nodded seriously and said:

"Yes, I just heard the sound of rain."

Manstein was taken aback at first, then waved to me and asked me to go to that place.

As he waved his hand, raindrops slowly fell from the sky.

Xu Fan looked up at the rain falling all around him and slowly stretched out his palm.

The rainwater fell into Xu Fan's hands, cool and refreshing, yet invigorating.

It was at this moment that Xu Fan seemed to see a petite figure slowly collapsing amidst the torrential rain.

"Perhaps this is something I've forgotten?"

Manstein asked with a smile, "Child, do you remember anything?"

Xu Fan nodded vigorously: "I just remember that the rain that day seemed to be much heavier than the rain now."

Manstein seemed thoughtful, then smiled and said to Xu Fan:

"Perhaps you'll see a heavy rain tomorrow."

"So when is tomorrow?"

Manstein smiled and said, "When you wake up, it will be tomorrow."

Xu Fan nodded vigorously and said to Manstein:

"Grandpa God, I hope you can have a peaceful night's sleep."

As he spoke, Xu Fan yawned and bent down to lie on the ground.

Soon, Xu Fan's breathing became steady, clearly indicating that he had fallen into a deep sleep.

When Xu Fan woke up this time, Manstein was already standing in front of him.

"My child, how did you sleep last night?"

Xu Fan scrambled to his feet and smiled at Manstein.

"I think it was a very good sleep, Grandpa Deity, did you rest well?"

Manstein was beaming, as if he had finally fulfilled a long-cherished wish.

"I also feel that I rested well."

Xu Fan looked at Manstein expectantly: "Will it rain heavily today?"

Manstein smiled and said, "Yes, you see, here we are."

As he was speaking, a torrential downpour began, and Xu Fan felt as if he couldn't open his eyes.

Yet, amidst this rain, a sorrow he had never felt before welled up within him.

The image in my mind suddenly froze at a certain moment.

The petite girl slowly fell from the rain, her face contorted in pain. Yet, even in this agony, she managed a smile, looked at Xu Fan, and slowly spoke:

"elder brother."

"You should wake up."

The rain washed over Xu Fan, who stood there motionless, lost in thought.

Manstein tried to wake Xu Fan, but failed several times.

After an unknown amount of time, Xu Fan slowly raised his head, his once clear eyes now filled with confusion.

Upon witnessing this scene, Manstein was filled with alarm bells.

In the instant he raised his hand, the wind and rain that filled the sky vanished.

But Xu Fan had already turned around.

"Manstein? It's been a long time."

As Xu Fan's voice faded, he slowly opened his palm.

The three divine swords stuck in the ground seemed to receive a summons and quickly returned to his side, cheering and emitting a clear sword ringing sound.

Xu Fan closed his eyes, gripped the Demon-Subduing Sword tightly, and slashed at Manstein in front of him.

The layers of darkness seemed to be parted by an invisible hand, slowly disappearing.

Xu Fan opened his eyes, and the array in front of him had disappeared.
