There was no other way. Despite her mother's death stare, she went to the ditch halfway up the mountain to take off her shoes and wash her feet there. After her mother left, several fish in the ditch floated to the surface.

"Where is he?" Ma Lihua opened the door but didn't see anyone, and felt unhappy.
She only looked down when she felt her pants being tugged.
Huang Sanlang bowed slightly and spoke in human language, "Miss Pear Blossom, I have important matters to discuss with the fairy. May I see you?"
"Little Huang! Come in quickly. What's there to talk about? Come in and have some water. I'll go call my grandma out for you. Come sit in the yard." Ma Lihua smiled. She hadn't seen Little Huang in a long time. This was her companion, who had been with her since birth, and they had a very deep bond.
"Click-clack-clack..."
Ma Linghua was getting angry again with the flint and steel. She had just gotten it going, but she managed to put it out. It was so infuriating that she wanted to throw the thing into the latrine.
Ma Lihua looked at her grandmother, whose face and hands were covered in black soot, and it took her a while to come back to her senses. She said softly, "Grandma, Xiao Huang is here. He says he needs to talk to you. Go first, and come back to get angry later."
