Chapter 42 Returning Home

Seeing her uncle driving away surrounded by other people, Yan Sisi turned around and followed her mother to help pack up things, but her mother pushed her away to call her father and grandmother to come back.

When they came back, Yan's mother had already packed all the things and was just waiting for their uncle to come before they could leave.

Xu Baoying and his friends had already found out on their way back, and after returning, she went to the kitchen and packed some meat for them to take away.

Almost half an hour later, two cars rumbled over from a distance. Tang Mingze, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, climbed out of the window, waved at them, and shouted, "Auntie."

The happy voices and the sound of the car had already attracted all the neighbors. Everyone looked at the car parked in front of Yan Sisi's house and talked about something.

Yan Sisi had already greeted her grandparents, and when the car stopped, she climbed in first. Her parents followed closely after they put the things they wanted to take in the trunk, and then they got in after saying hello.

Finally, under the curious gaze of the villagers, Yan Sisi and her family of three left Yanjia Village in a car.

Throughout the car, Yan Sisi and Tang Mingze could be heard chattering non-stop. Tang Mingze, who had always been calm and mature, was now laughing like a teenager, and the others were also infected by them and started laughing.

The car drove on the road for more than two hours before arriving at the home in the county town. The black car stopped at the bottom of the yard, immediately attracting everyone's attention.

"Whose car is this? It's so fancy. It must have cost a lot of money!"

"When did our small county have such a powerful figure?"

"No, look up there. Are those the Yan family sitting there? When did his family have such impressive relatives?"

Yan Sisi and her friends had no idea what was being said outside, so they followed their parents out. Only then did they see the neighbors talking about this. Facing their curious looks, someone couldn't help but ask, "Old Yan, is this your relative?"

Yan Aiguo thought of the rumors about the young lady in the family compound recently. It is human nature to seek benefits and avoid harm. He smiled innocently and said, "This is Sisi's uncle."

He just said these words, then turned around, picked up the things he had brought back, and took the person back home.

Yan Sisi had been sitting in the car for such a long time that her whole body was stiff. As soon as she got home, she relaxed and lay down on her bed to have a good rest. Outside the house, her grandmother and uncle were sitting together chatting, and her mother was cooking in the kitchen.

Yan Sisi lay in bed and rested for a while before going out. She just happened to hear her uncle saying, "Aiguo, you should come back with us this time!"

"No, I'm used to staying here, and I won't be able to adapt to going out." Father Yan waved his hands. He was not used to being outside.

Mother Yan brought out a plate of food and said, "Brother, don't worry about us. Sisi still has to take the college entrance examination. Let's wait until she is admitted to a school. Maybe she can go to J City by then."

"Yeah, how are Sisi's grades?"

Yan Sisi, who was suddenly mentioned, met everyone's looks and nodded calmly, "It should be no problem to apply to a school in J City."

All those days of remedial lessons were not in vain.

Tang Zhigao smiled happily upon hearing this and praised: "You are worthy of being a child of our Tang family. When you are admitted to J City, your uncle will give you a gift."

"Okay, thank you uncle first, I will accept it without hesitation." Yan Sisi said bluntly.

Tang Zhigao smiled and nodded, then turned to look at his brother-in-law's injured arm and asked, "I didn't have time to ask along the way, what happened to Aiguo's arm?"

Yan Sisi answered quickly, "My dad was put in a sack and beaten."

Yan Aiguo felt embarrassed by what he said. Tang Zhigao had the impression that his brother-in-law was a kind person, so how could he be put in a sack? He asked in confusion, "Why were you put in a sack? Did you offend someone? Who is it? Tell me so I can help you."

Yan Aiguo shook his head helplessly, "No, it would be fine if I had offended someone, but I still haven't found out who it was."

"I haven't found it yet. I'll go back and ask someone to check it out."

"Thank you, uncle. There were two people putting on the sack, and one of them had six fingers." Yan Sisi added as she stood aside. One more person would mean more strength to help in the search. Logically speaking, there should be very few people with six fingers in their county. She didn't know why they hadn't found him yet. She couldn't find him anywhere she could look. It was really strange.

"Okay, leave it to uncle, there will be no problem." Tang Zhigao patted his chest and guaranteed.

Yan Sisi listened to them chatting for a while, but felt it was boring, so she ran to the kitchen to help her mother cook. In the end, she made a table full of dishes.

During the dinner, Yan Sisi heard her grandmother and uncle talking about what had happened to them in the past few years. Her uncle was imprisoned in a remote village where he was unfamiliar with the place. Fortunately, someone secretly helped him, otherwise he would not have waited for the day of vindication.

A group of people were sitting at the table, drinking and talking about their troubles. By the end of the meal, three drunkards were lying on the table.

The only man still standing was Tang Mingze, who was not allowed to drink.

The three of them worked together to put the drunk grandma and uncle into their father's room, moved the table in the middle living room away, put a cool mat on the floor, spread two layers of thick cotton quilts on it, and finally put another quilt on top. This is where Yan Aiguo and Tang Mingze slept at night.

After Yan Sisi and her mother cleaned up the dishes together, it was already past nine o'clock in the evening. After a busy day, they simply tidied up and returned to their room and fell asleep.

The next morning, Yan's mother took her old father out for a stroll again and bought some food and drinks for the journey. They had lunch together at noon, and then her uncle took her grandmother and cousin back to J City.

During the following Chinese New Year period, Yan Sisi just lay at home, eating and sleeping, reading textbooks and watching TV series, and the whole year passed like this.

Gu Jingping came here on the sixth day of the Lunar New Year. The relationship between the two has not changed much from before. Every day they either study or go out for a walk and watch a movie.

In the new semester, the school schedule became much more intense, and there were two more evening self-study classes. When Gu Jingping found out, he had to pick her up after get off work every day. However, he was transferred out again after only one month, this time to J City.

On this day off, Yan Sisi accompanied her father to the hospital to check on his arm. The doctor said that the recovery was very good and if it continued like this, it would soon be the same as the uninjured hand.

When I got home from the hospital, I saw my fourth cousin from my uncle's family standing at the door. When he saw them coming back, he said, "Uncle, my dad asked me to call you to dinner."

When Yan Sisi heard about going to eat, she suddenly didn't want to move. Every time she went to her uncle's house, she always felt that nothing good was going to happen. In addition, she had a falling out with Yan Qianqian last time, so she didn't want to go even more.

Yan Sisi pulled her father's sleeve and whispered, "Can we not go?"

Yan Aiguo didn't know what the girl was thinking, but he felt that he hadn't seen his elder brother for a long time, so he agreed and said, "It's okay, we'll be back after dinner."

Yan Sisi glanced at her fourth cousin who was waiting impatiently not far away and asked, "Aren't you waiting for my mom?"

"Your mother is working overtime today and will eat lunch in the factory."

With no excuse, Yan Sisi could only follow her father's footsteps and ride a bicycle to her uncle's house.

As soon as Yan Sisi entered the room, she felt that it was unusually quiet. She thought: Is something going to happen again? When has my uncle's house ever been so quiet?

When I looked up, I saw a strange girl sitting not far away. My aunt was sitting on a stool awkwardly, and my sister-in-law and others were cooking in the kitchen.

Yan Aiguo looked at the stranger and asked his sister-in-law, "Sister-in-law, someone is coming to your house."

Yan Sisi greeted her and went straight to the kitchen. She walked over to the eldest cousin's wife to inquire about the news, "Cousin, who is that girl outside? She can't be the girl of my fourth cousin!"

Ding Hong, who was cutting vegetables, whispered, "You haven't come recently so you don't know. Something big happened at home. You don't know! Qianqian is not my biological daughter. The one outside is my biological daughter."

Yan Sisi covered her mouth in surprise and asked, "That's impossible!"

Ding Hong curled her lips and said, "How can it be impossible? The people have been taken away, and this biological child has also been sent back."

It is said that the family is rich and powerful. On the surface, they said they didn't know how the child was switched. But as for her, it must have been her mother-in-law who did it secretly in order to give her daughter a better life.

Yan Sisi asked further: "Then this biological child was willing to come back, so why didn't the family keep her?"

Ding Hong put the vegetables in a basin and washed them, then said, "Why didn't she stay? She said she insisted on coming back. I don't know what she was thinking. If it were me, I wouldn't come back."

Yan Sisi couldn't help but frown when she heard this. The development of things seemed to be different from what was in the book. In the book, Yan Qianqian found out that she was not her biological daughter only after she was admitted to university. How could it be so long in advance?

Moreover, in the book, this daughter of the aunt was not willing to come back, and it was Yan Qianqian's trick that forced her to come back. Why did she come back on her own initiative this time?

Yan Sisi stood at the kitchen door and glanced outside quietly. She happened to meet her gaze and the next second she saw her smiling. Yan Sisi smiled back subconsciously and hid in the kitchen again.

This biological child outside is not quite the same as described in the book. It's really weird. Fortunately, she is not from my uncle's family, otherwise she would be exhausted to death with such things happening every day.

At the last meal, the aunt brought someone into the kitchen and introduced Yan Sisi, "This is Sisi from your second uncle's family. You can go out and play together when you are free."

Yan Sisi waved her hands awkwardly, ignoring her aunt's words. Is it because she doesn't have enough free time to play with her? You know, wherever they are, all kinds of things will always happen. She should just stay at home and study!

Su Junyan sat down next to Yan Sisi, smiled and said, "My name is Su Junyan, hello Sisi."

Yan Sisi replied: "Hello."

After saying this, he picked up his bowl and chopsticks and started eating without saying anything else.
