Chapter 45 Watching the Show

"If you're going to do a job, you have to understand the rules of that job."

How are we supposed to sell our products if you keep lowering prices like this?

Isn't this blatantly taking away everyone's livelihood?

The obese woman had a fierce look on her face and pointed at them with her short, stubby fingers.

"I don't care about your rules."

If you're capable, eat meat; if not, drink soup.

"It's my stuff, I can sell it however I want, it's none of your business!"

"Yeah, so what? You think you can bully us just because you outnumber us?"

Neither of them felt they were wrong, and they spoke with absolute confidence.

Seeing that there were hardly any people left in the market, and hearing their unreasonable and extremely arrogant words...

The vendors all looked rather grim.

Several bean sprout vendors simply stopped selling them.

They surrounded their stall with angry expressions.

Aunt Lan Hua and Aunt Lu Hua immediately felt uneasy and instinctively took two steps back.

But the two were used to being boisterous and wouldn't admit defeat, so they said, with a fierce but weak expression,

What do you want to do?

They want to rebel!

Let me tell you, we have some connections in town.

I doubt you'd dare lay a finger on us.

Hearing her threatening words, the group all let out a cold laugh.

The obese woman was furious; she wasn't easily intimidated.

It's been a long time since I've seen such an unreasonable person.

She kicked away the bean sprout basket in front of her and grabbed Aunt Lanhua, who was standing outside, and pulled her over.

"I'll teach you to be stubborn!"

I'm going to teach you a lesson today, so what?

If you're so capable, then find someone to avenge you.

"At worst, I won't sell these bean sprouts anymore."

Before she could finish speaking, two sharp slaps landed on her face.

Her figure wasn't for nothing; she slapped Aunt Lan Hua's head so hard it tilted to one side.

Aunt Lanhua was slapped twice, and she was not about to let it go.

Soon, the two were fighting.

That's not all.

Seeing that Aunt Pang had already made the first move, the others simply grabbed Aunt Lu Hua, who was trying to escape, and beat her severely.

For a time, the men were locked in a fierce fight, their cries of pain and curses against their ancestors echoing through the market.

Gu Yanliu's eyes widened in surprise. "Sister-in-law, look! They're fighting! They're fighting!"

"Tsk tsk tsk, how pitiful, three people ganging up on two."

This time they've really messed up.

Su Nianxue leisurely ate her popsicle, and even took the time to make a few comments.

"Serves you right!"

Did they really think this was a village? Did they really think no one could control them?

They dared to lower prices recklessly; now they've got what's coming to them!

Gu Yanliu's eyes lit up, and she wished she could go up and kick them a couple of times herself.

There are very few people at the market anymore; only a few small vendors remain.

After everyone had enjoyed the spectacle, they calmly separated the group.

They all advised,

What are you doing?

Everyone comes out here to make money; causing such a scene will only damage the harmony of the situation.

Once they were free, Aunt Lan Hua and Aunt Lu Hua shouted, "You dare to hit us? You wait, I'll have someone deal with you later!"

The obese woman felt relieved after venting her anger.

She casually tucked her disheveled hair behind her ear and said, "Go ahead and go."

People like you who don't follow the rules, I'd give you a good beating, and that would be too lenient.

To put it bluntly, your behavior is a serious crime of disrupting the market.

"If you want to go to the government, I'm happy to go with you."

Everyone can see clearly how this incident started.

They all secretly showed a look of disgust towards Aunt Lanhua and Aunt Luhua.

We're all in business, and we hate this kind of selfish, market-disrupting behavior.

He was offering words of advice, but it was clear from his tone that he was on the side of the other stall owners.

"We've been in business for so long, and we've never seen anyone like you."

You're doing something that harms others without benefiting yourself; who could possibly respect someone like you?

"Auntie Pang is right, you have to follow the rules of your profession."

Bean sprouts used to sell for 20 cents a pound, but now, thanks to your actions, the price has dropped to 9 cents.

"No wonder they'll teach you a lesson."

………

The matter was nearing its end. Su Nianxue, having watched the show for most of the day, stood up contentedly. "Yanliu, let's go shopping."

Gu Yanliu felt completely refreshed and threw away the popsicle stick in her hand. "Okay, let's go!"

I went to the supply and marketing cooperative first and bought everything I needed.

Then I went to the carpenter's shop to pick up the cradle, and also went to the pork stall to buy a pound of meat.

Just as I reached the village entrance, I saw a large group of people gathered there.

"Lanhua, Luhua, what's wrong with you two?"

"Didn't you say bean sprouts were selling well in town? How come there are still so many bean sprouts left?"

"By the way, what happened to your faces?"

"Won't they get beaten up?"

The two exchanged a glance and understood.

The two returned to the village and were caught red-handed by the village women.

"We both fell down."

Aunt Lan Hua's eyes darted away. If people knew they had been beaten up in town, they would be laughed at to death.

"You can't believe I'm lying about how badly you got hurt from a fall?"

The aunt wasn't easily fooled, and asked with a puzzled look.

"They must have stolen someone's business and got beaten up!" a discordant voice rang out from the crowd.
