Chapter 10 My Wife Doesn’t Need to Be So Capable (Page 2/2)

When Qin Ye came back that night, he brought back good news, saying that the family accommodation had been approved.

It turned out that Political Commissar Zhang had started working on this matter when Ye Qing just arrived at the army. By the time Qin Ye wrote the application, everything had basically been settled, so the application was approved so quickly.

The next day, Ye Qing followed Qin Ye to the family compound. Looking at the small courtyard in front of her, she finally felt at ease.

She had no sense of belonging in her mother's home, and it was even more impossible for her to have a sense of belonging living in a guesthouse. Now she finally has a decent home, even if it is a little shabby, it can shelter her from the wind and rain.

Besides, the courtyard was not bad, and the walls were made of red bricks, more than one meter high. The main house was on the north side, and from the outside it looked like three and a half red brick houses, neither old nor new, with no auxiliary rooms, only a shed on the east side, which was now dilapidated and half of it had collapsed.

The yard was a bit messy, probably because the previous family hadn't cleaned it up. Firewood was scattered all over the place, and some broken tables, chairs, benches, and broken tiles were piled up in a mess on the ground.

Qin Ye pointed at the courtyard and said, "This batch of courtyards was specially designed by a designer hired by the army. This main house looks like it has three rooms, but there are suites inside. Let's go over and take a look."

When she pushed open the door of the main house, a smell of dust hit her in the face. It was then that Ye Qing realized: the design here is actually similar to that of modern buildings!

There are three bedrooms, two facing the sun and one on the shaded side. Next to the bedroom on the shaded side is the kitchen, which has a separate door so you can go in and out as you like without having to go through the living room. There is a stove and a cupboard inside, but you need to buy your own dishes and chopsticks.

Next to the master bedroom is the bathroom, which is equipped with bathing facilities, a toilet, and a marble sink.

There is a set of old-fashioned wooden sofas in the living room, and a coffee table that is obviously made by myself and not painted. This is where we usually eat. I have to say that the conditions are really good!

Not to mention that this was only in the 1970s, these conditions would have been considered good even in the 1990s.

Qin Ye told her that the water here was spring water brought down from the mountains and could be drunk directly, but it was too cold, so Ye Qing had to boil it before drinking.

"Let's pack up today and make a list of what we need. Tomorrow, Wednesday, is when the buses come into town, so we can go shopping."

Pushing open the bedroom door, I saw that there was only a 1.5-meter double bed in the master bedroom. There was no wardrobe, no crib for the children to sleep on, and no bedding.

All these needed to be purchased, and Ye Qing kept them in mind.

Qin Ye said: "Winter comes very early here, almost in October, and the weather in September is already cold. Winter is long, so many people have a kang."

He pointed to the empty space next to the kitchen and said, "Build a big pot here and let the heat flow to the kang in the bedroom. Although it's a bit far, the locals here know how to do it. It can be used for both cooking and heating."

"I've asked Gao Hao to invite fellow villagers who know how to build a kang in the village. How about we build one too?"

Ye Qing grew up in her grandmother's home in the Northeast. She was naturally not resistant to the heated kang and nodded immediately: "Okay! Then, shall we clean up this bedroom and kitchen now?"

Ye Qing was particularly energetic and efficient in cleaning up her own home, and she quickly cleared out all the extra clutter in the master bedroom.

Looking at Ye Qing who was busy with everything, Qin Ye's eyes flashed again. Unexpectedly, she was really a woman who could live a normal life, so capable!

"What are you daydreaming about? Come and help!" Seeing Qin Ye standing there in a daze, Ye Qing shouted at him.

Qin Ye finally reacted and rushed over. Together, they lifted the double bed to the guest bedroom. Because of the excessive force, Ye Qing's waist was sprained.

Looking at her charming appearance of rubbing her waist, Qin Ye opened his mouth and uttered a few words: "Actually... as my Qin Ye's wife, you don't have to be so capable!"
