Chapter 10 My Wife Doesn't Need to Be So Capable

Qin Ye was stunned when he saw him, and quickly stuffed Nannan into Ye Qing's arms: "What's the hurry?"

The man was a little out of breath as he ran: "The brigade commander has been looking for you all morning. He seems to be in a hurry. Go and take a look."

After Qin Ye left, Ye Qing took her daughter to the guesthouse. When passing by the family compound, she saw a group of people gathered together. They heard crying and cursing from inside, and no one knew what they were doing.

She didn't want to meddle in other people's business, so she didn't plan to join in the fun.

Unexpectedly, she had only taken two steps when someone called her: "Hey? Isn't this the family of Captain Qin? What are you doing?"

Ye Qing had to stop. A middle-aged woman who looked to be in her forties stood behind her. She had thick eyebrows and big eyes, was a little fat, had short hair that reached her ears, and a smile on her dark red face.

Ye Qing didn't know this person, but since she called her name, she must have heard of her. Ye Qing could only stop and see what she had to say.

The man was very enthusiastic and looked Ye Qing up and down. "Oh! It's really you! I heard that Captain Qin's wife is here. I was wondering when to go and see her! I didn't expect to meet her here. Your name...what's it?"

Ye Qing smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, my name is Ye Qing."

The woman slapped her thigh and said, "Yes! Yes! I heard my boss say that, but I forgot. Let me introduce myself. I am the daughter-in-law of Political Commissar Zhang. My name is Sun Fang. If you have any questions in the future, just come to me."

"Let me tell you, I've been here for quite some time, and I'm more familiar with this place than my hometown! I promise I won't let you suffer any loss."

"This is Nannan, right? Oh! How old is she? Why is she so thin?"

She seemed to be a straightforward person, and Ye Qing had a good first impression of her: "Sister-in-law, she is over two years old, and three years old in lunar age. Nannan, call me auntie."

Nannan called her "Auntie" sweetly, and Sun Fang was so happy that she touched Nannan's head and praised her a lot.

Then he pointed at the woman in the crowd and said, "This girl needs to be educated well. Look at her. She's already rebellious at the age of sixteen. She goes against everything she says."

"Look, she didn't want to go to school, and she ignored her mother's words and went to the village to find a young educated person called...what's his name? She said she must marry him. What do you think is going on?"

"By the way, the educated youth's name is Li Qiang. I don't know how they met. But the educated youth wanted to go to college and return to the city, and her daughter was obsessed with her."

This plot is mentioned in the book.

It is said that there was a soldier's wife whose daughter named Zhao Qingmei had a good relationship with the heroine. She dropped out of junior high school and insisted on marrying an educated youth. It was said that the educated youth was different from others. After work, others would either go home to sleep or get together to play cards to relax, but he always kept two books on his bedside and would read and study when he had nothing to do.

Later, he was admitted to university. Zhao Qingmei worked in a textile factory to earn money to support his studies, dreaming that Li Qiang would take her to the city to enjoy a good life after he graduated from university three years later.

However, he didn't expect that the man would bring back a city woman after graduating from university, saying that they were true love and that he and Zhao Qingmei, who had not even graduated from junior high school, had nothing in common, so he asked for a breakup.

Zhao Qingmei was unwilling to give up and made a scene in an attempt to commit suicide, but it was of no avail. Her mother was so angry that she fell seriously ill and was bedridden from then on. She died soon after.

In the end, the army sent someone to testify and asked her to write a letter of complaint. On the grounds that Li Qiang had bad character, he was deprived of his right to be assigned a job after graduation, forcing him to marry Zhao Qingmei.

After they got married, Li Qiang treated her badly. When he was drunk, he would think of the fact that he was deprived of his job assignment and would beat and scold her. This woman's ending was not very good either. She seemed to have died of depression at a young age.

Could it be that the person she met today was Zhao Qingmei’s mother?

This woman seemed to be the wife of the head of the third regiment. In the book, she was very kind to Nannan and she saved Nannan several times when she was in danger.

Later, Nannan drowned in the lake and was discovered and fished out by Zhao Qingmei, who came back to visit her relatives. However, she was already dead and no one could save her.

Ye Qing couldn't help but look at her a few more times, wondering how to help her get through this disaster.

This disaster was a fatal blow to his entire family. Considering the kindness they had shown to Nannan in the book, Ye Qing was willing to help them if possible.

Sun Fang enthusiastically asked her to stay and play for a while, but Ye Qing refused. The two talked for a few more words and then left with her daughter.
