The half-conscious young man's pupils widened instantly, and he felt bitter, sour, astringent, spicy and smelly in his mouth. All the tastes gathered together, rushed straight to his head, and spread to his limbs and bones, burning in his body like fire.
He began to cough violently.
"You, what did you feed me?" he demanded.
"Poison." Tao Wenwen said.
Blood gushed out of the young man's mouth and he spat out another mouthful.
Tao Wenwen stepped back, to a place where the young man's blood could not reach.
She took a small stool and sat down, taking out the candy she had exchanged for black ants from Master Zhang.
The pink and smooth candy is crystal clear.
Tao Wenwen didn't eat.
She pinched the candy, twirled it between her fingers, flicked it into the corner, and it disappeared.
"Mr. Zhang's candy is worse than poison," Tao Wenwen said seriously. "Last week, my cheap mother bought all of Mr. Zhang's candy to please me. I took one bite and vomited on the spot."
She coldly watched the young man struggling in pain, her gaze falling on the blood. She carefully compared it and added, "He vomited more than your poisonous blood."
The young man stared at her, enduring the excruciating pain that felt like flames burning all over his body.
He clenched his teeth and his eyes were red with pain.
Tao Wenwen continued, "I threw away all the candies and kept the candy wrappers."
She played with the new candy wrapper in her hand, turning it over and over, and folding it into a thousand paper cranes.
The young man curled up into a ball, his hands gripping the edge of the bed with veins bulging in pain.
"Like this, all folded into a thousand paper cranes."
Tao Wenwen stood up and handed the folded paper cranes to the young man as if presenting a treasure.
She asked, "Does it look good?"
The young man rolled around on the bed, experiencing a life-or-death experience.
He pursed his lips and finally turned his back.
Tao Wenwen's pretty eyebrows knitted together. "Hey, I've said so much, and you haven't said a single word in response. That's so rude."
She carefully placed the paper cranes under the boy's pillow, circled around the bed, and stood in front of the boy again.
"Why don't you tell me about yourself? What's your name?" she asked.
The young man raised his eyebrows and glared at Tao Wenwen again.
Tao Wenwen was keenly aware of the young man's anger.
She pointed at herself with a surprised look on her face. "No way, are you angry with me? Why are you angry with me? I'm your savior."
"Oh……"
The young man sneered.
He questioned, "You are murdering me with poison! I am... I am living a life worse than death!"
"Like I said, the detoxification process is excruciating. It's you who insisted on fighting for that 10% chance."
Tao Wenwen shrugged, looking somewhat innocent. "If you regret it, I can give you another sip of medicine. Once you close your eyes, it will be your next life."
The young man opened his mouth to curse, but suddenly found that no sound came out of his throat. Not only that, even his vision became blurred.
"I..." His resolute face finally showed signs of anxiety.
Tao Wenwen held his hand and felt his pulse, her beautiful brows suddenly froze, "You were poisoned recently, weren't you? Why didn't you tell me earlier? You miscalculated."
The young man held her wrist tightly, and with great effort, he finally squeezed out the words he wanted to say, "I, I will do what, what will happen?"
Tao Wenwen said: "It will be dumb and blind."
The young man was so angry that he spat out a mouthful of blood and fainted.
"Dead?"
Tao Wenwen reached out and poked him, but the young man didn't respond. She held the candle closer and looked into his eyes again.
"Why fight for this? My body hurts once, and I will continue to suffer while I am alive."
Sighing, she retracted her hand, shook her head and sighed as she walked out of the house in the dark.
