When Liu Aiguo woke up because he needed to urinate, the person next to him had already disappeared.
"Xu Hongxing!"
"Xu Hongxing! Are you deaf?"
"Xu Hongxing! Where the hell have you been?"
"Xu Hongxing!"
Liu Jiaqi: "Are you trying to kill me?! Trying to summon a soul this early in the morning?!"
Liu Aiguo: "Where's your mother?"
Liu Jiaqi: "How should I know? I couldn't stand you, you good-for-nothing, and now you're crippled, so I ran away!"
Liu Aiguo: "Get out of here."
What Liu Aiguo couldn't stand the most was being called a good-for-nothing, because when he was young, Liu Jing and Liu Yun often pointed at his nose and called him a good-for-nothing.
Now that his leg is lame, he can't stand the words "crippled" and "disabled."
There was no sound outside, but he couldn't hold his urine any longer, so he had to sit up and look for the urinal under the bed.
But the chamber pot wasn't emptied for a whole day and night yesterday, and it's already full.
Liu Aiguo: "Liu Jiaqi, Liu Jiahui."
"Liu Jiaqi! Liu Jiaqi! Come in here and help me with my head injury so I can use the restroom!"
The people outside originally wanted to say something back, but they shut up immediately after hearing Liu Aiguo's words, pretending not to hear.
"Liu Jiahui! Get the hell in here."
"Liu Jiaman! Liu Jiaman!"
"Liu Jiayi! Liu Jiayi! Get the hell in here!"
"Liu Jiayue!"
"Liu Jiayue!"
"You unfilial sons and daughters, just wait to be punished by heaven and struck by lightning!"
Liu Aiguo shouted until his throat was hoarse, but no one paid any attention to him. He knew that these people were at home, and he hadn't heard them leave. They just didn't want to talk to him.
He couldn't hold it in any longer, so he had to hobble to the toilet with his crutches. Luckily, he only broke one leg.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I came out of the restroom.
But he was hungry again, so he could only hobble to the living room with his crutches and see a few people preparing to leave.
Liu Jiahui: "Isn't this what it means to be able to walk? It's just being fussy. I have to help you to go to the toilet."
Liu Jiaqi: "Don't be angry. If you fall down, you won't just be a cripple, you'll be disabled."
Liu Aiguo was so angry at his unfilial son that he almost passed out, but he dared not fall down for fear of injuring his leg and becoming truly disabled.
Seeing his behavior, the Liu family members found it pointless and left, since they would be late for work if they didn't go out soon.
Liu Aiguo sat down on the sofa after everyone had left, and it took him a while to recover.
After he recovered, he limped to the kitchen with his crutches, but there was nothing to eat there. The kitchen was empty except for two bowls that he had used the night before, which were in the sink.
I opened the rice cooker, and there was nothing inside. I opened the refrigerator, and there was nothing inside either; it was completely empty.
Enraged, Liu Aiguo cursed under his breath. He then hobbled towards his bedroom with his cane. Passing by the dining room in the living room, he felt thirsty and wanted to get a glass of water.
He then discovered that the thermos was empty, so he had to limp back to the kitchen and drink a few sips from the tap.
By the time I sat back on the bed, I was covered in sweat.
After a while, I went to look for his savings in the closet, but I couldn't find it after looking twice.
Liu Aiguo was a little incredulous. He took out all the clothes over there and searched them twice, but he still couldn't find any money.
Liu Aiguo felt a sudden darkness before his eyes and fell headfirst, but fortunately, he remembered his legs in the moment of crisis, reacted in time, and grabbed the wardrobe to avoid falling.
He racked his brains trying to figure out who had stolen his money. His first thought was Xu Hongxing, but then he remembered that Xu Hongxing had always been honest and law-abiding over the years, so he ruled him out.
That leaves only those unfilial sons and daughters at home. Looking at them now, they're out there eating and fooling around every day; they must have taken it all.
Liu Aiguo, leaning on his crutches, limped into the living room.
This time I was lucky and saw the wheelchair behind the door. I slowly sat down in the wheelchair and went to the room of those unfilial sons and daughters.
As their father, he knew them quite well, so he was able to find where they hid their money.
They found it in no time. Liu Aiguo looked it over and sure enough, they had taken it. Otherwise, why would they have so much money?
They must have stolen it together and then divided it among themselves.
Liu Aiguo ransacked the room of his unfilial son and daughter, finding a total of more than 2,100 yuan.
Liu Aiguo accepted it all without a second thought and even kindly put the messed-up areas back in their original places.
He went to the phone and dialed the number of the restaurant owner who rented his shop.
Liu Aiguo: "Xiao Wang! I've had a bit of trouble these past few days, I injured my leg, and there's no one home. Could you bring me some food up? Something light... Sure, sure, thank you. I'll pay you when you get up here."
The food was served shortly afterward, and Liu Aiguo paid for it and began to eat with relish.
That evening, he ate dinner in the same manner, and then carefully hid the money in another place.
Xu Hongxing didn't get home until dark. As soon as she entered, she noticed something was different. There was a meaty aroma in the house. She went into the kitchen and saw that everything was the same as before.
Then I looked in the living room and sure enough, I saw the plastic box in the trash can.
Two portions, so it definitely wasn't Liu Jiaqi and the others who ate it. If it wasn't them, it could only be Liu Aiguo. No wonder Liu Aiguo didn't react at all when he heard her return, and didn't yell or shout. It turns out he had already eaten and drunk his fill.
Xu Hongxing's eyes flickered with surprise at his wealth.
When Xu Hongxing entered the bedroom, he saw Liu Aiguo lying on the bed!
They showed no kindness to Xu Hongxing and Liu Aiguo, saying, "Where have you been all morning? I haven't seen you since early this morning."
Xu Hongxing: "My family owed a lot of money, which we had to pay back. So I found another job that required me to get up early to pick vegetables in the garden."
Liu Aiguo frowned but didn't say anything. Just as he was about to ask her to empty the chamber pot under the bed, Xu Hongxing turned and left.
Xu Hongxing: "I'm going to take a shower now, I have to get up early tomorrow."
After saying that, she went to take a shower.
After I finished showering and washing my clothes, and was just about to spin them dry, the power went out.
Xu Hongxing immediately understood: no one cared because she hadn't paid her electricity bill, and now the power was out.
Before she could do anything, she heard Liu Aiguo's voice, "Xu Hongxing, go see what's wrong, why is there no power?"
Xu Hongxing ignored him and simply hung the clothes up to dry.
After hanging up the clothes, I went straight to my room to sleep.
Liu Aiguo: "Did you go check? Why is there no power? I see everyone else's houses have it. What's wrong?"
Xu Hongxing: "We've run out of electricity."
Liu Aiguo exploded upon hearing Xu Hongxing's words, "No electricity bill? Why didn't you pay it earlier?"
Xu Hongxing: "I'm at the hospital every day and haven't paid attention to my family."
Thinking of how Xu Hongxing took care of him at the hospital every day, he surprisingly refrained from saying anything unpleasant.
Liu Aiguo: "I'll pay the electricity bill tomorrow."
Xu Hongxing: "I'm out of money."
Upon hearing this, Liu Aiguo fell silent.
