Chapter 54 Moving

Luckily, we're moving out. Otherwise, the couple would be secretly making money, and with so much stuff in the house and that scheming old woman Wang in the yard, if they got caught, we'd be doomed.

In the end, Liu Yun packed up three boxes of the triplets' belongings. She never expected that such a small room could hold six boxes, and that so much stuff could be stored under the bed.

"Can we move all this over ahead of time?" Liu Yun's head ached just looking at all this stuff. There was still furniture to move on the day, and with so much furniture bought, would she be able to manage?

Mother Yu was amused by her youngest daughter-in-law's naiveté. "So much stuff, and there's no one there. You don't even know what people are like over there. And all this stuff, things that money can't buy, are you planning to put it there?"

Liu Yun touched her nose. She hadn't expected this, had she? She hadn't thought about the future at all; it was just about leaving some clothes there.

"When the time comes, have your dad wear that outfit to dinner more often, to give you some support."

"Sure, you can come every day. You're all welcome." You should know how much trouble Yu's father's clothes had saved them here. The three Wang brothers were so arrogant back then. Every family was annoyed by them but couldn't stop them. But their family had never been visited. Even Old Lady Wang had never come to cause trouble.

However, it's farther away after they move there than here. They ride bicycles to work from the tenement. It only takes Yu Qianhe five minutes and Liu Yun less than ten minutes. It takes about twenty minutes to get to the Yu family's old house.

But if they move there, it will take them about 20 minutes to get to work, and more than half an hour to get to the Yu family's old house. However, there is a direct bus that will only take half an hour.

Because feudal superstitions were being abandoned, the move was somewhat rushed. Cheng Ke and Liu Yun had told her this beforehand, but the others in the compound only told her the day before they moved.

Many people came to help. Liu's mother brought Liu Aiguo and Liu Aidang, Liu Jing and Xiao Zhihua also came. Xiao Zhihua even borrowed a small truck, and Yu's father also borrowed a pickup truck. Now it was definitely enough to load everything. Cheng Ke and Fu Yao were also helping.

Seeing so many people, Liu Yun was relieved that she always prepared food according to stockpiling quantities, given the large number of people.

Yu Shan, along with Grandma Fu and Cheng Ke, looked after the children. There were five children, so they had to keep a close eye on them, since there were too many people around.

A large group of people walked towards their new home. Yu's mother, along with her two daughters-in-law and Liu's mother, started tidying up in the kitchen, while the men moved the furniture. The furniture they had just bought had also been delivered.

Liu Yun then had to arrange the placement of the furniture, since she was the one who designed and arranged it.

A brightly painted octagonal table was placed in the middle of the main room. The tea in the kitchen had just been boiled. Two thermos flasks and two teapots were set out, along with a stack of bowls. Anyone who wanted to drink water could do so.

The table brought from the courtyard was placed in the living room, and two single bamboo beds were placed against the wall, which could be used as stools or sofas. Everyone thought the design was good and wanted to make one like it, but most homes were not spacious enough to accommodate such a design.

The coffee table was placed next to the door, and then a bamboo fruit plate bought at the market was taken out and filled with peanuts, melon seeds and dried fruit.

The storage cabinet is placed against the wall near the bedroom. Just put the teapot and cups on it, and you're instantly in the mood.

The newly built wardrobe will be placed in the bedroom. As for the clothes and boxes that have been moved in, they will all be piled up in the two currently empty rooms for now, and we will tidy them up after everyone leaves, since the stuff is too conspicuous.

After putting away all the furniture and things I brought, it was already noon. I opened all the doors and windows, and a gentle river breeze blew in, so there was no feeling of heat at all.
