Chapter 66: Is he not his biological son?
Jiang Ran stepped forward, and Si Youlin glanced at her and suddenly noticed the finger marks on her neck.
A strange feeling flashed through his mind, and he suddenly said, "Wait!"
Jiang Ran paused, and then heard Si Youlin continue, "I saw the finger marks on your neck before."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ran was taken aback, then realized why he hadn't said a word earlier; he was quite observant. "So?" Jiang Ran asked疑惑地问道, "Do you believe what I said?"
Si Youlin lowered his eyes and stared blankly at a spot on the ground. After a moment of contemplation, he slowly said, "I don't know."
"Because what you said is too outlandish, but the scars match what you said."
"What if I could frame him?" Jiang Ran suddenly chuckled, unable to resist teasing him.
Unexpectedly, he shook his head and replied decisively, "No."
Then, she looked up and met Jiang Ran's gaze: "Because there's no need for that. Father is unconscious, what's the point of framing him? Just to prove he's awake?"
"But what does it matter to you whether he wakes up or not?"
Listening to Si Youlin's reasoning, Jiang Ran showed a hint of approval and smiled slightly: "The logic is clear and organized, not bad."
Si Youlin was taken aback. Was she... praising him?
Just as he was lost in thought, his brother's admonition suddenly flashed through his mind. He quickly shook his head, trying to shake those unrealistic ideas out of his head.
Fu looked at Jiang Ran with a serious expression and said in a negotiating tone, "I can give it to you, but you must promise me that I will not hurt Father."
"Hurt him?" A hint of surprise flashed across Jiang Ran's face, followed by a cold sneer: "You can tell from my scars that I'm the one who got hurt, okay?"
“He was clearly more seriously injured!” Si Youlin retorted.
"I was protecting myself!" Jiang Ran explained.
As soon as the words were spoken, the two of them were slightly taken aback. Jiang Ran was the first to react and then chuckled.
What's wrong with her? She's arguing with people like a child.
Si Youlin coughed twice, feigning indifference, and pointed out, "Is this the place?"
Jiang Ran shook her head: "Earlobe, the blood there is very pure, just a little bit is enough."
As he spoke, he took out a small porcelain bottle, gently pricked it with a silver needle, and dripped two drops into the bottle.
Si Youlin only felt a slight stinging pain in his earlobe before he saw Jiang Ran hand him a tissue.
"Alright, even though it's not a serious injury, let's press it down a bit."
Si Youlin reached out and took it. Seeing Jiang Ran preparing to leave, he suddenly asked, "Are you going to get a paternity test?"
Jiang Ran was taken aback, not expecting him to ask such a question.
Before he could answer, he blurted out, "I am not my father's biological son."
Then a flash of inspiration struck, as if everything could be traced back to a specific point.
"So you did it on purpose, you wanted his blood."
Hearing his far-fetched ideas, Jiang Ran couldn't help but rub her forehead and gently scold, "What are you thinking? How could that be?"
"Did someone around you make fun of you about this?"
Si Youlin lowered his head and remained silent.
Jiang Ran's heart softened, and her tone became gentler: "Don't overthink it. What others say is none of your business. You are a child of the Si family, you know?"
Si Youlin looked up at her unexpectedly, and heard her continue, "Of course, if you're angry and want to fight back, that's fine too. I'll take responsibility if anything happens."
Having said that, he ignored Si Youlin's expression and turned to leave.
She stopped after taking a few steps, turned around and said angrily, "Also, it wasn't me who intentionally wanted to harm him; I'm the victim."
Si Youlin watched her retreating figure and suddenly chuckled softly.
He had only questioned whether she was really going to get a paternity test, and her answer was the same as always.
But for some reason, he felt a warmth from her coquettish disdain, as if she was just using disdain as a cover to hide the warmth beneath.

Because of this incident, Si Youlin kept getting distracted in class, so much so that Si Zuochen had to call him several times before he responded.
"Hmm? What's wrong?"
Looking at his unusually behaving younger brother, Si Zuochen asked with a puzzled expression, "What's wrong with you?"
"What?" Si Youlin asked, puzzled as to why he suddenly asked that.
Si Zuochen raised an eyebrow and said, "I noticed you weren't paying attention in class; you were just staring blankly at one spot."
"What happened? Did that woman bully you again?"
Si Zuochen's voice turned cold, and Si Youlin quickly denied it: "Of course not."
Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen looked puzzled, and his eyes also held a hint of scrutiny.
Seeing that he was suspicious, Si Youlin quickly explained, "I just didn't sleep well last night, so I'm a little confused right now."
"Really?" Si Zuochen tilted his head slightly, somewhat disbelieving.
"Um."
As soon as he finished speaking, Si Youlin put his arm under his head and slumped onto the table, muttering, "Keep an eye on the teacher for me, I'm going to take a nap."
Si Zuochen looked at him, sighed softly, but did not say anything more.
Si Youlin lay down, but his eyes were wide open. This was the first time he had lied to his brother. Afraid of being exposed, he could only use sleeping as a cover.
Thinking about what had happened before, subconsciously he didn't want Si Zuochen to know about it.
He was well aware of his hostility towards that woman, and telling him would likely ignite another fierce "war."
But he still couldn't help wondering what she was going to do with the blood.
On the other side, after taking the blood, Jiang Ran took out the talisman she had just drawn, dripped the blood on it, and the talisman was complete.
With the medicinal guide in hand, the final step is to buy the necessary herbs and decoct them.
Since she had nothing else to do, she decided to go out and finish the matter completely.
As soon as I entered the lobby, I came face to face with the butler.
"Madam." The butler stepped forward, gave a perfunctory greeting, and then left, his attitude cold and distant. Jiang Ran's face stiffened. What did this mean? Was it an implicit expression of dissatisfaction?
In the past, they would thoughtfully ask where I was going and what I was doing when I went out, but now they just treat me like I'm invisible?
Jiang Ran couldn't help but feel a little emotional. Sure enough, even though Si Yanxiao had been bedridden for several years, in their eyes, he was still much higher in status than her.
Thinking of this, he scoffed and drove away, heading straight to a herbal medicine shop to get his medicine.
As soon as she entered, Jiang Ran saw a familiar figure and raised an eyebrow slightly: "Si Jiliang?"
Si Jiliang turned to look at him, her eyes filled with coldness.
Jiang Ran chuckled to herself, "What a coincidence."
"What are you doing here?" Si Jiliang frowned slightly, seemingly displeased at seeing her.
“Obviously, I need to buy medicine.” Jiang Ran said as she walked to the counter, took out a prescription, and told the pharmacist, “I need one of each of the medicines on the prescription.”
The man glanced at the pharmacy, then at Si Jiliang, a look of surprise on his face. He said, "The medicine you need is exactly the same. Is it from the same prescription?"
Upon hearing this, Si Jiliang raised an eyebrow slightly, looked at Jiang Ran, and his eyes held a hint of scrutiny.
Where did you get your prescription?
Jiang Ran smiled slightly and replied, "Would you believe me if I said I opened it myself?"
A hint of doubt flashed across Si Jiliang's brows, but before he could speak, Jiang Ran continued on her own.
"If you don't believe it, then what's the point of you asking this question?"
Si Jiliang was caught off guard and pursed his lips, but remained silent, his heart filled with doubt.
He originally thought that her treatment of Old Master Si last time was just a lucky coincidence, and that her physical symptoms were only alleviated by chance.
Offering to take charge of his treatment was merely a deliberate act, a way to gain favor and a larger share of the money.
But now it seems that it is not so simple. This prescription has one more ingredient than the usual treatment for lung diseases, which is the most crucial one.
How could she know?
Could it be that he is truly a hidden master, possessing profound medical skills?
Si Jiliang lowered his eyes to look at Jiang Ran, and suddenly asked, "When did you start getting involved with traditional Chinese medicine?"
Jiang Ran was taken aback upon hearing this. Recalling her own past, she blurted out, "Decades, I suppose."
Si Jiliang frowned upon hearing her answer and glanced at her sideways.
Decades? She's only in her early twenties and she's using decades to describe herself; she's lying without even thinking.
Jiang Ran realized she had misspoke and chuckled, "Maybe it's because I was a pharmacist in my past life. I have a feeling that we've been in contact for a long time."
