Chapter 138 Opening the Tomb

Chapter 138 Opening the Tomb

After saying that, her eyes flashed, her tone softened slightly, and she continued in a low voice, "Anan, I will be trapped in guilt for the rest of my life."

Seeing that Si Yanxiao had made up his mind, Gu Nan knew that there was no point in saying anything more, so she had no choice but to reply, "Okay, wait for me."

After saying that, he hung up the phone and immediately sent a text message to Old Master Si, informing him of his insistence on opening the tomb.

They then drove to the cemetery. Upon receiving the news, the old man looked startled, and the butler, seeing this, quickly asked, "What happened?"

Old Master Si looked displeased, his fists clenched so tightly that the veins on the back of his hands were bulging.

He then slammed his cane heavily on the ground, his face full of anger, and said, "This unfilial son!"

Upon hearing this, the butler's face flashed with doubt, only to see the old man stand up abruptly and say sternly, "Let's go! To the suburban cemetery!"

The butler looked surprised, but seeing the old master's fury, he knew this wasn't the time to ask questions. He immediately contacted the driver to take them to their destination...

When Old Master Si arrived, he saw Si Yanxiao standing in the center of a tombstone, with several men in black standing to the side holding tools, and Gu Nan beside him trying to persuade him.

Seeing this, Old Master Si quickly walked behind him and shouted sternly, "Ayan!"

Upon hearing the voice, Si Yanxiao was startled and turned around to see the old man glaring at him with a face full of anger.

He then glanced at her, glared at Gu Nan fiercely, and questioned, "Did you notify them?"

Gu Nan pursed her lips slightly, knowing she was in the wrong, and took a step back, remaining silent, which could be considered as acquiescence.

Si Yanxiao glared at him, then turned to look at Old Master Si and bowed slightly: "Father."

Old Master Si pointed angrily at him: "What are you doing?!"

Seeing that his scheme had been exposed, Si Yanxiao didn't offer any further explanation and simply admitted, "We opened the tomb."

"Opening a tomb?" Upon hearing this, Old Master Si suddenly scoffed, "I'd like to ask, what kind of tomb are you opening?"

"What? Are you worried that this is just a cenotaph?"

Si Yanxiao lowered his eyes and remained silent, offering no further explanation.

Old Master Si continued his reprimand, "Besides you doting on this woman, who else do you think cares about her?"

"Do you really think she's some kind of hot commodity? Ah Yan, you were only focused on finding the tomb before, and now that you've found it, you've stirred up all this trouble. What exactly are you trying to do?!"

Hearing his father's reprimand, Si Yanxiao's eyes turned slightly cold. He looked up at him and replied.

"I just want a result."

Then, Fu paused and said, word by word, "I want to see him alive or dead!"

His tone was resolute, and upon seeing this, Old Master Si felt a surge of anger rising within him, and he involuntarily staggered back a few steps: "You!"

The butler quickly reached out to support him, his face full of worry: "Be careful."

Upon seeing this, Si Yanxiao's eyes flickered slightly. He forcefully restrained the urge to reach out and help, his fist clenched, but his face remained expressionless.

“My mind is made up, and no amount of persuasion from you will change it. You might as well come with me and see how things turn out.”

Si Yanxiao spoke with a slight sneer, his face full of mockery.

When Old Master Si saw that his persuasion had failed and Si Yanxiao remained unmoved, he felt a tightness in his chest, unable to go up or down, stuck there.

Si Yanxiao slightly raised his hand, looked down at the tombstone, and said coldly, "Make your move!"

Upon hearing this, the people behind him rushed forward with their tools. Old Master Si was about to speak up to stop them when the butler pulled him from behind and slowly shook his head.

He said in a low voice, "Ayan is obviously not going to listen to advice, and it's no use talking to him now."

Old Master Si closed his eyes slightly, a look of unease flashing across his face.

The group looked down at the base of the tombstone. Si Yanxiao stared intently at their movements, feeling as if his heart was being tightly gripped by a hand, and every breath he took was filled with unease.

A feeling of tension instantly filled my chest.

As the tombstone was gradually dug open, everyone worked together to move it away. Si Yanxiao stared intently at that spot, his eyes unblinking.

I'm afraid of missing out on something.

Thump—

Upon hearing the sound of the coffin hitting the ground, Si Yanxiao hurriedly walked to the front of the tomb, staring intently into the coffin, his pupils suddenly shrinking.

No!

The coffin was completely empty, with no remains whatsoever.

Seeing Si Yanxiao standing there in a daze, Old Master Si was about to take a few steps forward when Si Yanxiao suddenly turned around, his eyes filled with a shadow of gloom.

He demanded sharply, "Why did you lie to me?!"

Upon seeing this, Gu Nan quickly stepped forward. When she saw the tomb, she was startled, but she still reached out and pulled Si Yanxiao, signaling him not to get too emotional.

Si Yanxiao suddenly flung his hand away, staring intently at Old Master Si with disgust on his face.

When Old Master Si saw that he was looking at him with an unfriendly expression, a look of surprise flashed across his face. He then took a few steps closer and leaned over to look.

He exclaimed in surprise, "How can it be empty?"

Seeing his actions, Si Yanxiao scoffed, "What are you pretending for? Isn't this your doing?"

"Who are you trying to fool with this act?"

When Old Master Si saw that Si Yanxiao insisted that it was his doing, he was displeased, but he still explained with a cold face.

"What do you mean by that? I truly knew nothing about this matter, and I only just found out that there was nothing in the tombstone!"

"Heh..." Upon hearing this, Si Yanxiao suddenly scoffed coldly, a mocking glint flashing across his face: "Completely unaware?"

"From the very beginning, you were the one who prevented me from finding her whereabouts. If you have nothing to hide, why did you stop me from opening the tomb?"

"Furthermore, as you said before, there are very few people who care about her. You still hold a grudge against her because of what happened six years ago. Who else but you could do such a thing!"

As he listened to Si Yanxiao's accusations, Old Master Si felt a tightness in his chest, and his expression gradually turned ugly. Just as he was about to speak up in rebuttal, he suddenly felt his heartbeat suddenly go out of control, his brow furrowed, and darkness appeared before his eyes.

He staggered back two steps, his eyes closed, his face suddenly turned pale, and he fell straight backward.

Upon seeing this, the butler quickly reached out to support him, exclaiming in surprise, "Sir!"

Seeing this, Si Yanxiao didn't bother to reprimand him and hurriedly stepped forward to help him up.

He shouted sharply, "Go to the hospital!"

Gu Nan quickly contacted an ambulance, and Si Yanxiao carried Old Master Si on his back and hurriedly headed towards the ambulance.

His face was full of worry, and his anger from earlier had clearly been forgotten.

Gu Nan had already made all the arrangements on the way. When they arrived at the hospital, the hospital director and the heads of various departments hurriedly helped the old man onto the bed and rushed him to the emergency room for diagnosis.

Si Yanxiao quickly followed behind, until they reached the emergency room door. Suddenly, he heard a doctor and his accompanying nurse walk out from the other side and say, "Tell the gentleman guarding the door that the patient Jiang Ran is being resuscitated!"

Upon hearing the familiar name, Si Yanxiao paused and turned to look, but the door slammed shut, cutting off the view inside.

Just then, the doctor in charge of Old Master Si came out. Si Yanxiao was taken aback and quickly turned around to ask about the situation, putting Jiang Ran's matter aside.

He can still tell what's important and what's not.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Si Zuochen and Si Youlin were still angry about the cemetery incident, and their attitudes toward Si Yanxiao had shifted somewhat.

Just as I was lost in thought, a sudden knocking sounded at the door.

Si Zuochen pursed his lips slightly and said loudly, "Come in!"

The butler pushed open the door and entered, his face full of worry.

Seeing this, Si Zuochen frowned slightly: "What's wrong?"

The butler replied anxiously, "Young Master, Assistant Gu just called and said that the old master's condition is extremely urgent and he is being treated at the hospital. He asked me to take you there."

"What?!"

"What's going on?!"

Upon hearing this, Si Zuochen and Si Youlin were startled and quickly stood up, their eyes filled with worry.

The butler shook his head slightly. Si Zuochen frowned and hurriedly walked towards the door, urging, "Hurry up!"

The group rushed to the hospital, where they found Si Yanxiao standing guard outside. Si Zuochen and Si Youlin exchanged a glance, their lips slightly pursed, unsure how to face him.

After giving a low greeting, he secretly waved to Gu Nan.

Seeing this, Gu Nan got up and walked towards the corner, where she saw Si Zuochen and Si Youlin with cold expressions, their eyes full of scrutiny as they looked at her.

Si Zuochen's face turned serious, and he asked sternly, "Uncle Anan, what happened? Why did Grandpa suddenly faint?"
