Chapter Six: Harsh Words
Si Youlin left behind a harsh threat and then ran off as if a demon were chasing him.
Jiang Ran stood there, watching his back, pursed her lips, and a hint of mockery flashed in her eyes.
She truly couldn't accept the original owner's bizarre thought process. She would beat and scold her own son, yet she was completely fooled by those scoundrels who coveted her property.
Utterly foolish!
Now I have to clean up this mess for her.
"What bad luck..." Jiang Ran murmured softly, lowering her eyes. Just as she was about to turn and leave, a strange thought suddenly flashed through her mind.
Jiang Ran's expression changed, and she quickly chased after Si Youlin in the direction he had left.
At the same time, a deep red Mercedes sped towards Si Youlin's direction.
"Watch out!" Jiang Ran cried out in alarm.
Upon hearing this, Si Youlin paused slightly, his face showing displeasure. He was about to turn around when a glance caught his attention and he noticed the danger.
Upon seeing this, the color drained from his face instantly, turning him as pale as paper. His body stiffened on the spot, and he remained motionless.
The car was going too fast; Jiang Ran only had time to warn it before the car was about to crash into her head-on.
"Bang!"
With a loud crash and gasps from passersby, the out-of-control car suddenly swerved to avoid Si Youlin and flipped over.
All of this happened so suddenly and unexpectedly.
Jiang Ran looked at Si Youlin in astonishment, only to see that he was surrounded by a blue light, which protected him like a layer of armor.
"Azure Dragon protecting the body...?" Jiang Ran murmured, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes as she watched this scene.
Indeed, even if the dragon energy within him is weak now, his destiny dictates that as long as it is not divine retribution, he will not be in any danger to his life.
Thinking of this, Jiang Ran secretly made a hand seal, calculated with her fingers, frowned, and quickly ran towards Si Youlin.
Si Youlin was still in shock from what had just happened and couldn't come to his senses for a long time. Suddenly, he felt someone hug him from behind, and he instinctively tried to struggle.
What are you doing—
Before he could finish speaking, he heard Jiang Ran let out a muffled groan.
Si Youlin snapped out of his daze, broke free abruptly, and turned to look at Jiang Ran. He was about to reprimand her sternly when he caught a glimpse of a clear scratch on her arm, from which blood was seeping out.
Looking down, I saw a shard of car window glass on the ground.
So, she came here to save herself?
Si Youlin suddenly realized something and looked at Jiang Ran in astonishment. He was still recovering from the car accident and his face was pale, with a hint of disbelief in his eyes.
On second thought, he realized he was being delusional. How could someone as selfish and self-serving as her possibly come to save him? She would probably rather kill him!
Jiang Ran gasped in pain and looked up to see the pale-faced child in her arms staring at her.
She paused, then frowned and spoke:
"What are you looking at? Can't you see the injuries?"
Si Youlin was still immersed in his own world when Jiang Ran's words interrupted his thoughts.
He looked at her, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
But then, remembering Jiang Ran's usual behavior, her face darkened again. She quickly took a step back, pulled away from her embrace, and said coldly, "Hypocritical!"
Damn it, he was almost moved!
Thinking of that fleeting moment of excitement, Si Youlin felt so ashamed that he wanted to die.
So, as soon as he finished speaking, he turned and ran away.
Watching Si Youlin's hasty retreat, a hint of helplessness flashed in Jiang Ran's eyes. It seemed that the road to mending the relationship between the two was long and arduous...
Feeling a stinging pain from her arm, Jiang Ran looked down and saw that the bleeding from the wound had not stopped, and had already stained half of her sleeve red.
Seeing this, Jiang Ran didn't care at all, just shook her head, her tone full of sarcasm: "Mind your own business."
It was probably out of human instinct that Jiang Ran rushed forward to protect him.
Or perhaps, the maternal instinct?
She scoffed at the idea as soon as she thought of it.
Did the original owner have maternal instincts?
She almost believed it.
The most urgent task is to treat the wound as soon as possible.
After thinking it through, Jiang Ran realized that she had really taken on a troublesome task...
What if... this kid takes it seriously?
...
Meanwhile, on the other side, after quickly leaving the accident scene, Si Youlin's mind was in complete turmoil.
She definitely has something on her mind!
Si Youlin shook his head slightly, trying to clear his mind of the thoughts in his head.
He then strode into a private room in an internet cafe, where a boy who looked exactly like him was sitting in front of the computer. His flaxen hair obscured his amber eyes, but unlike Si Youlin, he exuded a cold aura that kept strangers at bay.
Despite her young age, she possesses an unusually cold aura.
The boy's fingers deftly tapped the keyboard, and a series of codes jumped out from the screen.
"Brother," Si Youlin called out from behind.
Upon hearing the sound, Si Zuochen stopped what he was doing, turned around, his deep, dark eyes filled with indifference, but the moment he saw Si Youlin, he concealed his emotions.
Now, Si Youlin is his only weakness, and he never shows his other side to his younger brother.
"Why are you here?" Si Zuochen asked with a slight smile.
